The power is amazing. If you activate the vac and just put …
I am operations manager for a large steel fabrication company and we generate quite a mess on a daily basis. I have several shop vacs here on site…the black round canisters on wheels everyone is familiar with. I wanted this one for myself and the employees personal use on autos and rvs etc. I researched and most portable vacs were 2 or 2.5 horses and just looked clumsy. This unit is 3.5 hp. and trim along with being light weight. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and the price is unbelievable. The power is amazing. If you activate the vac and just put your hand over the tip you can see the torque in this powerful little unit. And the noise level is half that of any other vac I have used. It actually has latches that secure the top of the unit to the body instead of those annoying tabs that you have to line up and hope for a secure seal. I am more than happy with my Workshop Wet/Dry vac and am purchasing one for my 82 year old father for Christmas this year to use out in his wood shop. Thanks for providing such a quality product at a great price.Sam

This thing “sucks” as well as a car wash vacuum!!!
I used this on my car recently and it’s amazing! It’s very light and easy to carry around or put on the car seat while you’re vacuuming. BUT TWO WORKAROUNDS you should know: #1: DO NOT use the vacuum bag it comes with. It reduces the suction power to almost nothing. And it even says in the instructions that the bag IS OPTIONAL, not necessary for it to work properly. #2: it has a short cord so be sure to have a couple of extension cords handy. Other than those two things, it sucks just as well or even better than car wash vacs I’ve used! Very happy I chose this one after a lot of research!

INVENTIVE MACHINE: ADDRESSES PROBLEMS IN COMPETING WET/DRY VACS. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I bought the WORKSHOP Wet/Dry Vac w. my own $$$ because the designers actually looked at the persistent problems of competing vacs and solved most of them. I used the leading brand’s version for years and it was, in spite of a strong motor, a constant annoyance with its poor performance. The hose was 1 and 1/4 inches in diameter (as are most or all of WORKSHOP’s competitor’s hoses still) causing it to continually clog up. Plus, it would bend shut with regularity, stopping the suction. The WORKSHOP has a 1 and 7/8 inch outside diameter extremely flexible hose which cannot bend so far that the suction shuts off. The hose also has a valve where the nozzle connects, allowing you to adjust the suction: brilliant. This vacuum also solves the problem of winding up the hose when you’re done–no need to wind. The flexible nozzle fits, with the hose still attached, into the narrow side of the vacuum: brilliant. Some lamentations by reviewers appear that the vacuum tips over. Well, yes, folks, its narrow because its made for small spaces, like your vehicle, or for going up stairs carrying the device, which I use it for. It’s also great in wide open spaces (as long as you don’t drag it around by the hose expecting it to follow you) where polypropylene/polyester entryway mats tend to congregate. If you want stability, get a competitor’s with wheels and see how you like the clunkiness. And the narrower hose. ALSO:Would like to give this terrific machine four stars +, because few inventions are perfect. The two hooks which hold nozzles should be taller and tighter–the nozzles easily fall off. The electric cord should be 2-3 inches longer to more easily snap the plug onto the cord when wrapped around the side hooks. It is extremely loud. I use ear protection. (I suppose this is the price for such powerful suction: it’s more like the suction on my full size Dewalt wet/dry vac, with which I also use ear protection.) And I can’t address the reports of poor suction when using the bag, as I never use it. This may be a problem of the physics of narrow spaces. Still, I Iove the inventiveness exhibited by this small, portable machine, and love the performance I’ve experienced over the last 3 months. AND FINALLY:GREAT SERVICE FROM THIS AMERICAN COMPANY. My package was missing a nozzle. I phoned Emerson Electric and they shipped the nozzle the next day. 4 stars+ for the machine, 5 stars for service.

    Looked good but disappointing
Purchased to keep in garage and use mainly to clean cars.Sadly, multiple design flaws. Without the paper dust bag, the suction is good, but with the bag installed, the level of suction drops off dramatically.Came with a good array of tools, but no place to keep them. The tool hooks on the top of the unit are too small to be of use. Tools just fall off. In addition, some of the tools, like the long thin radiator tool require an adapter to fit the end of the hose. That’s fine, except it adds a small additional took to keep track of.Cord is really too short. a 10 foot cord won’t work on any car without the use of an extension cord.

    Great car vacuum !
Bought this for the cars and very pleased ! Nice tools, light weight and easy to move around with plenty of power. Wanted something we could just grab and go to work vs a big, clunky wheeled unit and its perfect for the job. Stays connected in the garage, ready to go

    Great little vac
This small vac is a great little sucker! I wanted to clean a sticky car seat. I sponged clean water on the seat and used the vac to suck the dirty water out. I left the car outside in the sun to dry out. Presto! Clean car seat! I’m back to buy the plastic wand. Anybody know where I can find that?

    Very sucky
Pardon my pun, but this things sucks. Seriously, the CPM on this vacuum is not exaggerated. Better than any other that I’ve owned, which included Dysons, Bissels, and other brand names.I subtracted one star because it does not work well with the bag filter that it came with. For me, that is not a problem because I use it for light duty work, but for contractors who pick up dry wall dust and particles, it might disappoint. I do not know if any other shop vac would be any better, because this thing really has a lot of power. You would have to spend $150 for one noticeably more powerful.Overall, a very good vacuum.

I own a painting company and this vacuum makes it super easy to clean up any sanding dust and paint chips. It’s super light and fairly maneuverable – although I would recommend getting an extension cord with it as the attached cord isn’t too long. I haven’t needed to try using it to clean up any wet messes, but it works great for dry messes.

I was pretty surprised at how small and light weight it was compared to my larger shop vac, yet it had the stronger suction power. 3.5 hp compared to 2 hp.I have been using it for smaller jobs, which I believe it is intended for…I’d get a larger vac if you want one for a Workshop or large area. I’ve used it for cleaning the interior of the car and it did a great job at picking up all the rocks on the mats and crumbs and stray hairs on the upholstery. I keep it in the garage to pick up little messes. It is it a lot easier to take out and use than my larger Shop Vac.I haven’t had the need to use the dust bag yet so I can’t say how well it perform with one on.My favourite part is that I can control the suction with the bleeder valve so I can lower the suction when needed. It isn’t something I’d use to replace my larger Shop Vac, but it will be used for about 75% of what I used to use it on.

Had to modify the inlet to permit solids so they didn’t accumulate. I cut off the diverter within. A generous bag is compromised by the motor size. If used with dry filter it’s almost useless. The motor could be much more powerful. The two horns for the wrapping the cord keeps that tidy. The flexible hose is very good quality and diameter. The nozzle attachment is hand.

Terrible suction, I purchased this unit for picking up wood dust from sanded down furniture and it did not pick up much of the dust, my home vac does a better job than this thing does. Also the video is deceiving because this vacuum does require a bag to operate, and the filter is massive pretty much takes up all the room in the bin the bag fits around the filter and cannot hold much dust.I would send mine back if I could but it has been a while since I purchased this unit.Edit 1: Other reviewers suggested that I didn’t fit the bag properly or the fact that this unit can be used without the bag. I made sure my bag was in correctly and followed instructions as described on the bag and in the instruction manual, also I’ve tried this without the bag, the suction still is not comparable to my lower horsepower shop vac. I’m assuming the reviewers that mentioned that have not tried a better vac.
