Best investment
I am a mom of three and Iâm all of two dogs and I have to say this is the one of the best things I have ever bought it that my whole house perfectly and it allowed me to design it how it actually is with furniture included the power section on it is very good being that I have very old floors. It was able to suck in between them better than my actual Dyson vacuum amazing product.

Tapo RV20 Max Plus: Good hardware and performance, but the software needs refinement.
Having owned multiple robot vacuums from different brands, Iâve gained considerable experience with this technology over the years. The Tapo RV20 Max Plus is a solid choice for its price point, though it has room for improvement, especially in the app and software department.Hardware and MappingThe hardware feels reliable, and the LiDAR mapping system is impressive for this range. The robot mapped my 1,500 sq. ft. house in about 10 minutes, creating an initial “basic” map that refines with subsequent cleaning cycles. This gradual improvement in mapping accuracy is practical and works well for me.Cleaning PerformanceWith 5,300Pa suction power and a 97%+ dust pickup rate, the vacuum performs well on hard floors. However, the carpet cleaning feature left something to be desired. While it claims to have “Suction Boost for Carpet”, the robot doesnât automatically boost suction on rugs or carpets without manually creating “carpet zones” on the map, which is a letdown.Navigation ChallengesNavigation is an area where the RV20 Max Plus could improve significantly. While it manages open spaces well, it struggles with obstacles that arenât directly in front of its sensors, often bumping into chair legs, walls, and baseboards at full speed. This has unfortunately led to scratches and minor paint damage on my furniture and walls. I hope future software updates will address this issue.Mop FunctionalityAs with most vacuum/mop combos in this price range, the mop function is fairly basic and not particularly effective for heavy-duty cleaning that I need with two dogs and three kids. Iâve opted to use this device solely as a vacuum, which it handles capably.Overall ImpressionsDespite its flaws, the Tapo RV20 Max Plus offers good value for the price. It has strong suction, reliable mapping, and the potential for software improvements to address its navigation issues. While it doesnât compete with premium models closer to the $500â$1,000 range, itâs a capable vacuum that should meet the needs of most households.

Requires large working area
Looks like a great product but was too large for our small condo. Returned without testing.

Tie any cords up out of the way
First robot vac since the early roomba. Like the mapping feature but itâs not the editable as of yet. Hopefully it will be. Love it

Cautiously Optimistic, not the greatest on carpet
I am cautiously optimistic about this vacuum, but you really need to spend the time configuring the rooms. You also need to make sure if you have it set up to auto clean that all cords are picked up – mine sucked up a phone cord.1/5: Initial mapping of my home. It missed one entire room and only got half of other rooms.4/5: Updated mapping after I went in to edit the map and added large pieces of furniture off map so it recognized there was more of the room. I then sent it one room at a time to go ‘clean’ and it was much better mapping when it had large furniture added to know whereabouts the perimeter was.2/5: With 3 pets, it doesn’t do great on carpet. After having this do my whole house, I used my Shark regular vacuum, and filled the canister with dust/hair.3/5: I wish the map was more customizable. For example my living and dining room have a 5 foot door opening between them, and it while I say to clean the living room only, I found it in the middle of my dining room under my Christmas tree because it didn’t realize where the ‘boundary’ was. I didn’t want to set a ‘no-go’ zone since i want it to clean both rooms, but it gets confused. When it then mapped part of my dining room to my living room, it wouldn’t let me “Divide” because it would create too small of room on the side. I then couldn’t merge them both and then divide because it gave me an error.5/5 Battery – it can do my whole main level on one charge.FYI: As of Dec 2024, the US Government is investigating this company for data privacy violations and may ban some of their products from sale. As this is a vacuum and not one of their video/audio/cameras, I personally think this product is okay.
