Good hedge trimmer
For the price, this is a great after market hedge trimmer and l bought two of them. One fit perfectly on my Husqvarna gas trimmer with no modification. I have Echo trimmers as well (and as other users have stated) the hedge trimmer shaft does need some slimming to fit the Echo shaft. For residential use, you can’t beat this product. I’ve also bought the pole saw attachment from this same company and it works great as well, again fitting my Husqvarna perfectly. A few things to know about the hedge trimmer: you have to keep the cutting blades lubricated during use or they will get too hot and stop working. I’ve found chain saw bar oil works well. More importantly is not exceeding the cutting capacity of the trimmer, which max is pencil width foilage. Doing so will bind the cutters and shut it down, so don’t force it. The cutting head is equipped with grease zerks. While the unit has grease in it, l recommend adding some. Same holds true with the pole saw. I ran the hedge trimmer hard over the course of 3 days on a big job, and after figuring out the issues above, it performed flawlessly. My only con would be (as others have stated) is the weight of the cutter head. I am 6’3″ and a physically fit 230 lbs, but this thing had my shoulders and biceps burning after a couple hours. Because the cutter head weight weighs more than the power head of the trimmer, it makes the machine unbalanced. This forces you to continually muscle up the cutter head. This sounds like a bigger complaint than it is because the performance outweighs any negatives, just man up and get the job done. It’s just something to be aware if you’re a weakling. I’m not sure of long term reliability, but it’s already lasted a season and paid for itself after the first hour. This unit will likely not stand up to commercial use but for home use (as long as the tool is not abused) l highly recommend this trimmer.

The solution to cutting deep/tall hedges
I have hedges that are 6-8′ tall and around the same distance across. I’ve been trimming them with a kawasaki, articulating, heavy trimmer that required access from both sides in order to reach across the top. That’s a problem because it requires me to access my neighbors yard in order to trim my hedge. This hedge cutter attachment is intended to be used to trim my hedge from my side of the hedge and it looks like that will work.Likes:1) Easy assembly on a Husquavarna 128LD string trimmer.2) Can add a 3′ extension shaft if wanted but I can easily reach across an 8′ hedge without one.3) The trimmer has plenty of power to drive the hedge trimmer without jamming up on heavy brush.Dislikes:1) Does not cut viney brush very well. I have a knock out rose bush that I trimmed. It did the job but it had difficulty cutting the branches. It eventually “chewed” through them but it took a lot of work and the trimmed plant looks like it was cut with a machete. Not neatly trimmed like my Kawasaki hedge trimmer does.Note: I was deeply disappointed as the rose bush was my first test for the new hedge trimmer.I was ready to box it up and send it back until I tried it on the woody hedges I bought it for. Glad I did because it cut them like butter. Very quick and clean.2) it looks like it could accommodate a 1/2″ (or so) stem in the cutting teeth but in my experiance today I’d say 3/8″ is easy, 1/2″ may be possible but you’d have to chew through it.Overall:It’s a decent attachment that will be useful for me. I docked it a star for the rose trimming experiance but if I did not have the rose bush I would give it 5 stars.I believe this was a good value for the.money and I’m happy to have it in my yard tool inventory.
Hello –
So pleasantly surprised
I bought this item because I have a lot of overgrowth to cut back. I have a Stihl HS-45 gas powered trimmer but as it is hand held and it would be too much bending and reaching to use. I honestly didn’t know if any pole trimmer was going to do what I was going to ask anyway so I didn’t want to spend $300-$500 on a Stihl or Husqvarna. I think I paid about $80 for this one. It did come in a box bearing a different brand name on it. I think it came as a “badger”.I don’t know how much the power head you are using comes into play but for reference, I am using this on a Ryobi Expand it power head. Obviously, my Stihl trimmer cuts thicker material with much less effort but I was pleasantly surprised how well this unit performed. I have seen reviews stating it is heavy. Well, put anything on the end of a four foot pole and it will get heavy sooner or later. It is certainly not unwieldy. I found myself cutting in 15-20 minute bursts. This was not because it was tiring to use, that’s just the way my days went using it. This thing performed extremely well on weed grasses, vines and even pencil thick branches. It struggled a little with thicker stuff but did manage to cut through it.I had seen reviews stating the head gets hot after running it for a while. I haven’t noticed that but I have been hitting the cutting head with WD-40 or PB Blaster before each use (like the directions say). I Do find the cutter head loosens from bar and needs to be tightened up a little. I put threadlock on it and keep an Alan key with me and haven’t found it to be a real problem. Speaking of the cutting head, super easy to change the cutting position. Easy to change position 1 handed with no tools. I found myself using it much like a string trimmer cutting low to the ground by positioning the cutter head parallel to the ground. What a treat for my back.If you’re a pro or super big brand loyal, of course you will have negative things to say about this product but I have been using (and abusing) this thing on my own property and on a farm with 15 years of overgrowth and creep to it. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this product again in a heartbeat. It has already saved my money, my back, my time and my energy. For $80, I’ll take that all day long.

At the time of writing a review, this hedge trimmer is well priced for what you get. It is slightly shorter than competitors in blade length, but in my opinion thatâs a plus. It makes the trimmer lighter and easier to handle. The trimmer is surprisingly well built for the money and as others have pointed out omits some sort of stopper on the drive shaft. Not the end of the world and a minor sacrifice compared to all the places where they didnât skimp out.My unit came pretty well greased internally, but I did add a little. The gears are well made, the extension is aluminum, the articulation mechanism is very solid. The blades are as sharp as any other (theyâre not razor blades) so thereâs no knocking them there.Overall very well made, and better quality than Iâd expected. Very easy to use because of its shorter blade length. For around the house, especially if you have a big hedge to trim this is a must have!

as this was available on line and a universal fit and a lot $60 cheaper than what I had on offer from the big green shed. The attachment arrived hear in Australia from the USA it looked like from Texas originally. it was a box inside a box the trimmer was in two pieces so you need a Allen key to putt head unit onto the pole. As you can see in vid it clicked into my ryobi and hole lined up ( no modification needed) The trimmer appears to be well reinforced and dose a good job cutting very happy with it and was well worth the wait getting it shipped here

I bought this trimmer for my Ryobi 2-stroke Expand-It Power Head, others stated it would connect / fit, and it did. Removing the unit from the box, there was 1 loose screw that fell out, odd. The instructions booklet was partially ripped, but I was able to read it and figured out where that screw was to be placed and tightened. 1st time use worked great, it cut better than my original Ryobi hedge trimmer attachment, and this unit is longer / has a better reach. I had no issues trimming some pretty thick cedar branches, otherwise I used my chain saw attachment for those. Overall, for the price, I am currently happy, time will tell how long this unit will last. Not sure why others had issues, maybe there are some poorly assembled / made ones, seems I am lucky so far.
