New Go-To Tool
I don’t usually have much luck with battery powered tools, but the battery of this trimmer is very powerful and I wear out before it does. This trimmer has easily cut through overgrown honeysuckle vines, native blackberry canes and wild roses without bogging down at all. There are several safeties built into the grip and trigger to prevent accidental starts which are easy to use and much appreciated by someone who cut through the electrical cord on his last trimmer. That’s not a problem with this trimmer. It is a little heavy with the battery, so trimming high vines one-handed can be taxing, but it is possible. This is my go-to tool for a lot of yard work.

Just what I need
My bushes had gotten out of control and Iâd been looking for a tool to trim them. This tool is perfect! Itâs lightweight yet powerful enough to easily cut/shape my bushes. The fact that itâs cordless makes it even better. I like Skil tools and have several of them.

Handy hedge trimmer
What a great tool!!! This Skil Hedge Trimmer is cordless, not heavy to use⦠and has a 24â cutting bar. II used it well above my head and it was easy to use (with little rests in between) for a long trimming session.I charged the battery fully before using and the trimmer/battery lasted well over an hour sith heavy duty cutting.The charger works fast and has an easy to see charge level. This is such a great trimmer, but I eish I would have found it sooner. This one is the best I ever had!

Underrated and ignored
I bought these because I have a Skil battery mower. They are excellent trimmers and the battery lasts a long time. If you have other battery powered tools from another company, stick with them so you can share batteries. But, consider these if you’re not locked into another ecosystem. Now, I’m waiting for snow to try my Skil snowblower.

A small tool that works as expected
I have other Skil tools and wanted to stay on the same battery with this. It is small, but handles the limited amount of hedge trimming that I have adequately. Changing blades is fast and easy. Tool is light and easy to maneuver.

Fairly light weight, cuts well, not too loud, battery lasts quite awhile. I know those are vague descriptions, but overall are accurate.I have two SKIL 40V blowers, one SKIL 40V 14″ string trimmer, and this SKIL 40V hedge trimmer… I have been pleased with the performance of all of them. I have had the one blower for two years before I purchased the other 40V tools.The only complaint: I did purchase (from Amazom SKIL Store) a SKIL 40V string trimmer, battery, and charger kit, but it came to me used and damaged. I sent it back for a refund and went to Lowe’s and purchased the 14″ string trimmer kit there.
