I purchased this unit from Amazon based on the description images and information provided on the Amazon website. When the unit arrived, I was disappointed to see the product doesn’t match the description (smaller HP). I contacted Shop-Vac USA customer service and was told: Shop-Vac units sold by Amazon are made in China and shipped directly to Amazon from China (the box has a USA flag and “assembled in the USA of domestic and international components”). The Shop-Vac web site advertises a “limited lifetime warranty” but the Shop-Vac rep says the amazon units have a one-year warranty (box says five years). The Shop-Vac rep also said that Shop-Vac went out of business in 2020 and was started again and is now owned by a Chinese company. We have an older Shop-Vac unit that has served us well for at least 10 years, but we wanted a larger hose opening, so we decided to buy a new unit. I’m returning this, primarily due to the fact the images on the Amazon web site don’t match the product.

I use this as a dust collector for my woodworking shop (garage). I use it with a cyclone and I never lose suction. It not only sucks up wood chips, it also will pick up nuts and bolts. The hose is 2 1/2” in diameter which makes it more useful and clog resistant than the older 1 1/2” models. Buy it, you won’t be disappointed.
