This was purchased for pre-hurricane prep. When it came time for storm clean up we couldn’t figure out why the brand new pump vac wouldn’t function as a pump and was shooting water out everywhere. Yes, we had the clear hose & pump filter fully inserted into the motor. Upon further inspection we located the problem on the drain hose connector. It’s made of cheap fragile plastic and where it’s connected to the motor assembly, the connector neck is reduced in size, creating a weak point prone to breakage. This rendered the Vac useless for its intended purpose of sucking out storm surge water in a manner that didn’t require frequent lifting and dumping outside.
