Works great for my German Shepherd/Husky mixes hair
For pet ownersâI filmed a video of vacuuming up after brushing out my German Shepherd/Husky mix (she is also featured in the video). The amount of hair is disgustingâbut not now that this bad boy picked it up.Prefer this vacuum over my old Dyson ball pet vacuum.Really like that it has a light on it, and like the lift away technology!It DOES tip over a bit easily when using the hose features/lift away but thatâs because itâs nice and light. ..and I might be a clumsy/aggressive vacuumer.Only thing I miss from my Dyson were all the attachments (this comes with two) and the length of the power cord on the Shark is not as long. Not really a big issue though, and the shark attachments DO work great, way better than Iâd expect.Also MUCH EASIER to empty out than my Dyson was, because this opens at the top AND bottom, whereas my Dyson I had to reach my arm all the way up to get dog hair that was stuck at the top.

Perfect for pets!
We had a Dyson cordless stick vacuum, which was supposed to be for animals, but it honestly sucked and it was so expensive. My husband did not want to risk another cordless, so I scoured reviews and went with this one. Wow this is a game changer! Itâs so nice to have a reliable vacuum and it honestly sucks up so much hair. Itâs disgusting to think how much was lingering around our house before this vacuum. The cord can be a little annoying but itâs nice to not have to stop mid-vacuum to charge it, so totally worth it. The cord is also pretty long and the whole upper part can detach to get up stairs, etc. The detachable wand is also easy to use. I am amazed how much the dust compartment holds, I could probably vacuum my house twice before needing to empty it. Our house has both hard floors and carpet and this has been great on both, I like that it has different settings for each floor type. No fur or anything has gotten caught in the rotors or anything. All in all, this was worth every penny. I hope it lasts for years to come!

Good machine, but CORD is 12 feet shorter than my last vacuum
This replaces my Dyson Animal Ball 3, which suctioned to the floor and the accordion tube was too stiff to use.This ZD402 Liftaway model is a good machine. The 5th star is missing because THE CORD IS WAY TOO SHORT. It is a full 12 FEET SHORTER than my Dyson. Requires 4 plug-ins for a 1000 Sq Ft home. Beyond that + Suction is perfect and hair-free brush roller is truly that. + Assembly was simple, 5 minutes after unboxing. Thanks Shark for RECYCLABLE PACKAGING. – Machine is “front heavy” and always wants to turn left. My wrist was sore holding it straight ahead. – The “dusting brush” attachment is worthless… a couple strips of red corduroy on a piece of plastic… not so much. What ever happened to the soft true dusting brushes we could use on window sills and keyboards? + The dirt bin is easy to empty and exposes the filter making for easy filter monitoring. + The weight is good. Light enough to push easily, heavy enough to not confuse with a stick vac. + The height is good. Handle is at a proper ergonomic height. Some vacuums have become so short, you end up hunching over to use them. + Controls are toward the top. No reaching down to the brush roller to adjust anything. + Going from upright to Liftaway or tube accessory mode is simple – no origami needed. + When clicked to the upright position, it does not tip over. These days, that is a feature!It is a good machine, but had I checked on the cord length, I would not have purchased it.

Very powerful, great for pet hair
Let me tell y’all, this vacuum…. THIS VACUUM?? I couldn’t dream up a better vacuum for my needs. If I even had any expectations, they were definitely exceeded. I actually got excited to vacuum becuase of the sheer power it has cleaning my rug, and my hardwood floors. Very useful that the handle detaches and has its own long range use, with a slide to adjust the power on the handle. I didn’t think the light in the front would be very useful, but I find myself seeing dirt I missed quite often. I have a long haired dog that sheds 24/7 even with regular brushing and a short haired cat whose hair gets stuck in everything, and this thing is a godsend. Use it for my couches, my shelves, my floor obviously, and even my bed when I get a little vacuum happy. Very easy to clean the dust container out. Couldn’t recommend more!

Cheap plastic and smells horrid
This is the second vacuum I purchased from Amazon. The first was clearly used and sold as NEW; even the HEPA filter was moldy. I tried again with this one. It is again used and sold as new, OR, it is actually new, but smell is overpowering. It took two HEPA air purifiers 15 mins to clean the bad odor from my testing it on the floor. While it did have good suction, that could not get over the smell. It is also made very cheaply – totally plastic. IMHO, stick with Miele – we have two, one about 15 years old and the other about 23. Still going great-and the build quality is amazing. I was just looking for a bagless I could use on steps. I will stick with my Mieles.

Very good for house with carpets and two long-haired cats!
This vacuum worked very well at keeping both our carpets and hardwood floors clear of kitty fuzz from two long-haired kitties. It also did excellent at cleaning up the “sand” that the kitties kick out of their litter box. While I wouldn’t consider it “light,” it isn’t heavy and is easy to manuver. The light on the front does an excellent job of showing me where I need to vacuum. The bagless system is easy to empty. I haven’t tried it on stairs or furniture yet, but because of the strength of suction, I expect it to do well there, too. We’ve now had it for about a month and couldn’t be happier. Here’s hoping for many years to come!

Super deep cleaning ability!
I never write reviews, and certainly NOT after first use, but this is exceptional. We have 2 dogs, a cat, and live in a very sandy area. We used a professional carpet cleaner less than 2 months ago and vaccuum weekly. In an area of about 100 square feet I emptied the vacuum cleaner 5.5 times. Incredible! The carpet almost looks brand new. Thank you!

Not my favorite Shark vacuum
This is my third Shark vacuum. The Cord is too short. The paddles Do not pick enough. Have to go over multiple times to get carpets clean. Does ok on hardwood floors.
