So a year ago I bought a Dyson Compact Ball. I lived in an 850spft apartment that had mostly carpet. I also had one dog with a lot of long hair that sheds ALOT. It was great suction and maneuverability but I could barely get under the very edge of any furniture. Then I moved into a slightly bigger house half carpet half hard wood and got a second dog. The suction seemed to be less and less, despite regularly cleaning the filter and I had to use a broom to sweep beneath all my furniture or move everything to get up the dog hair. And I usually had to empty it at least two times before I was done.I saw an advert for the Shark on a plane and wondered if it could meet my needs. Today it arrived and it 100% lives up to my expectations!First I purchased the NV751. Yes you can get the true pet version slightly cheaper at Bed Bath and Beyond, but I wanted the Rose Gunmetal – which is really a lovely metallic lavender/ silver-gray lavender. For me it was with the added $20. Now as I spent so much time trying to determine what came with it I’ll list all the accessories here (and included a couple pics): duster crevice tool, pet power brush, dusting brush, upholstery tool, dust away floor attachment, canister (note it did not come with an accessory bag; but all but one fit either on the vacuum (holds 2 attachments) or canister (holds 2 attachments). It was incredibly easy to assemble! Out of the box, assembled, pictures taken, and vacuuming in less than 10 minutes. Now for the pros:1) Awesome suction, as good if not better than my Dyson…in fact almost too good – it did pull up and eat some of my carpet threads along a seam; but that was it had already pulled up a bit there and I had it on high pile to deep clean when it my carpet is low-med.2) the lift away was heaven sent, I could get under furniture and on furniture…exactly what I needed to get all the hair in it’s hidden corners.3) the pet power brush actually worked!!! My Dyson turbo pet tool never had the suction of the vacuum itself, in fact I use to just put the whole vacuum on my couch and chaise to get the hair off. The Shark power pet tool’sucied it all up, and it was so easy to switch attachments (vests with the Dyson Compact. I got hair off the couch I haven’t been able to get to – ever!4) it actually gets to the edge. The Dyson had bumpers of some sort so it wouldn’t necessarily get along the baseboards and corners. The Shark pulled up everything right up to the edge!!!5) easy to navigate, on par with the Dyson.6) the light was a nice added feature.7) the capacity of the dirt canister was awesome. Three times I started to empty it only to discover it had room!!! No more running to the basement to empty the bin in the trash can multiple times!!!8) the auto propel helped speed things along9) when I went to empty it all of the debris fell out with the click of a button and release of the bottom lid!!! No reaching in to pull out dog hair getting first and dust everywhere!!!Cons:1) it was heavier than my Dyson, but not in an unmanageable way – in fact where my Dyson often felt flimsy leaving me wondering how it cost so much, this felt solid and sturdy!2) the weight is more noticeable on the backstroke, but this just means you can’t just vacuum with your arm you have to perfect the the Shark two step – two steps forward, two steps back…3) parts of it did occasionally fall over while vacuuming- but no worse than on my Dyson, and I think as I get the hang of it it won’t happen at all.4) carpet and hair did wrap around the roller. In the year I had the Dyson this never happened. However most if that I think originated from the above mentioned carpet incident and accidentally catching an Apple charging cord (which I deranged but likely added to the twined hair. All of it was easily removed and I just plan to clear each use if it happens again, not ideal; but worth all the pros! All in all – it’s exactly what I needed and meets the needs of my home far better than my disown for $100-200 less!

I rarely write reviews, but this one is worth taking the time to write. 5 or 6 years ago I bought my first Shark vacuum, the Rotator model. Best vacuum I’ve ever owned!! I’m so glad I never bought a Dyson, as I always wanted one, but they seemed so overpriced and didn’t offer any attachments. The Rotator came with so many extras, a dolly for the canister, a hose with a mini crevice tool and mini brush tool which are great for car detailing and such and an upholstery tool with a rotating brush, an under appliance tool, a duster tool that is so awesome for cleaning fan blades and ledges. It also came with a bag to store these tools. Then the Stratos came out, I figured it would be even better. Not the case at all. The Rotator has an additional light on the attachment feature, I missed that so so much. It is so much easier to see what needs vacuumed with is light when using the attachments. I had sold my original Rotator, but kept the tools. Glad I did because the new Rotator did not come with all these extra tools (the new one I bought is the gunmetal rose colored one). The one thing I wish the Rotator has that the Stratos has is the anti hair wrap roller brush. My original Rotator never smelled like dog. The Stratos has this freshener thing, but if it was as good as the Rotator, it wouldn’t need it. I could smell dog from the Stratos, never smelled dog from the Rotator. The Stratos is harder to clean, I don’t see any way to remove the window over the roller brush to clean it other than blowing it out with my air compressor. I’ve included pics of the Stratos and my new Rotator (I didn’t include a pic of the dolly). The original Rotator I had was the burgundy colored one. It might still be better that the new Rotator I got, but I’m still happy I went back to the Rotator. I live on acerage and have many animals and lots of dirt that gets tracked in the house, so I need a good vacuum. It’s amazing what this vacuum pulls out of carpet!

This is a replacement for one that we had for years. The weight is very light and the power is strong. We like the ability to remove the handle and hose to get the power head under furniture. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good deal.

My Dyson upright that lasted many years finally started to lose suction then completely died. This wasn’t a good time to invest another $500 in a vacuum. My sister suggested that I get a Shark as she has switched a while back. I did my research and kept my fingers crossed that this would work well on both bare floors & carpeting, plus I have 2 cats. Well, I wasn’t disappointed! After just doing half of my apartment with both types of floors, the large dust cup was almost full. The suction on both surfaces was amazing & it wasn’t as loud as the Dyson. The lights are great too especially since my apartment doesn’t get any sun, so it’s not brightly lit.

The function and performance are good but can’t help feeling like I am victim of a bait and switch.Clearly states Included ComponentsPet upholstery tool, pet power brush, hard floor genie w/ one microfiber pad, canister caddy, dusting brush, dusting genie, accessories bag.You get the Pet upholstery tool and crevice tool ONLY. I have to say we love the vacuum but it’s going back if they don’t make it right. The link on the Amazon help page is not a good link.

Took me a little while to get used to it as it does several things automatically that I’ve never had in a bacuum before. It was so simple to put together it was all done in no time at all.The first time we used it I ran my old vacuum first then the new Shark, a good way to see the difference in performance. I was amazed at how much it picked up that my 2 year old supposed “pet hair” vacuum hadn’t even touched. It’s lighter weight, has headlights, powers itself forward, has a bit longer cord and is a rotator. While not cheap it also doesn’t cost a fortune while out-performing vacuums costing $400-$900. It’s the best deal out there in vacuums.
