Great choice given the pros and cons
I got this for under $200.00. It doesn’t have the suction of a $600.00 stick vac but it’s good. I measured it with a vacuum gage and it sucks approximately 54 inches of water column. Compare that to 40 inches measured from a Milwaukee 18v shop vac, and 80 inches for a Dyson 07 Animal vacuum with a huge motor and using direct power cord 110v.The HEPA filtration is the best on this thing. I empty the bin and see dust and salt sized particles, which is great because that stuff is not being blown back into the air in the house. It picks up dog hair really well and the design is great since the hair doesn’t wrap around the roller. I have to empty the bin each time I use it, it really does a great job. It picks up so much stuff I never knew was there, even if I use it every single day. I use it to vacuum approximately 1000 square feet of floor. I love that it is bagless. The cons to this vacuum are:I have to charge it after each use. I can’t get two uses out of a single charge. Thus, two batteries would be better.I wish it had that bend in the middle of the tube like some other Shark models, but they don’t offer it that way. I had to choose between that, and the HEPA. I’m happy with the decision.I have used it for about 2 months. I can’t comment on longevity but it’s great so far.One time I forgot to empty the bin and I got a bunch of dog hair stuck in the carpet roller head. It was very easy to open with a screwdriver, pull the plate off and clean it out. It is a complement to the vacuum that I have to empty it each time, because it works THAT good.I forgot to mention, this vacuum is pleasantly surprisingly quiet. I love that. This is my first cordless vac and being free from the cord is great. I vacuum like I’m mowing the yard. All the way down, all the way back. No more push pull push pull in one spot. This method really gets the job done much faster for me.I have one 25 pound shedding dog. I can’t say if you have 10 dogs weighing 100 pounds if it would work out to your satisfaction because at that point maybe you’d have to empty the bin more than you like. But I think I would still like the vacuum if that were my situation.I did a lot of research on this for several years before purchasing. I know the Dyson is more powerful and likely a great product. I am happy with this vac over the Dyson because it is a fraction of the price, and because the suction on this is perfect for getting the job done, without having to suck up my small throw rugs and fight to get them unstuck. I perceive the Dyson would grab the rugs and move them around as a hassle.I have not used the corded Dyson Animal since getting this. I can’t say how much this cordless vac leaves behind, since I have not had a reasons to get the Dyson out to see.I hope this review helps you in some way.

Great cordless that is perfect for light cleaning
Update (4 years later): I still use this cordless vacuum with the original battery and the extra one I bought. It still does a great job, with good battery life. We got a dog soon after we bought this, and sheâs a medium shedder, and this vacuum handles the hair without tangles, along with my wife’s longer hair. While my corded Shark vacuum has better suction, this one does a very good job in half the time and half the heavy lifting. It cleans up much quicker, too. I think the trick to making it last so well is to empty the canister frequently, clean the filters regularly, and check the roller and brush head for any clogs.***This has a replaceable l-ion battery (I bought a second one, too), and you can get a multiflex wand for it that allows the motor and dust bin to fold down, so that you can get under beds, etc., as well as making the vacuum free-standing at half its regular height. I encourage you to consider that multiflex wand addition! The vacuum charges easily, and the battery lasts a full 40 minutes on regular speed, which is pretty quiet, too. Suction is good, but not as strong as a regular Shark corded upright vacuum. It is really easy to maneuver, and makes vacuuming much faster than with a regular corded vacuum. It really does handle hair without tangling in the beater bar brush. My wife likes to use it, too!

Good cordless vacuum with a few small issues
I waited for shark to come out with a cordless vacuum that has a removable dust bin. This is a very good vacuum on both carpet and tile. I think the suction is way better when using it as a normal vacuum as opposed to a handheld. I will continue to use my corded shark vacuum as a handheld to do my car unfortunately. My long hair does not get caught in the roller which is amazing! As far as the dust bin…it IS removable but the filter part comes off with it! They show that you can just rinse it out with water but Iâm worried that the screws holding on the filter housing to it will rust eventually and there are rubber parts lining the lid that get dirt and water under them and you have to lift them up to clean it out…kind of a pain. I wish it was JUST the dust bin that came off so you could just easily clean it under the sink and have it dry quickly (the manual says you have to let this one dry for a full 24 hours Bc of the other parts attached to the dust bin). When companies make a pet vacuum, they should really consult with people that own pets. There is no way to get the doggy smell out of the dust bin of a vacuum unless you can totally submerge it in water and rinse it off. There are too many nooks and crannies for dust to collect In these little dust bins!Other than the dust bin issue and the lack of power for it as a handheld, itâs a good vacuum to use most of the time. I recommend waiting for it to go on sale. And Iâm HOPING shark makes some adjustments and has a new one in the next couple of years.

So far has held up great! Canât find extra battery anywhere though.
I do not have much carpet so I canât speak to how well it does in that regard but it works well on hard floors. My old Shark Rocket(corded), the agitator used to just shoot large debris across the floor and it was awful. I expected the same with this but to my surprise it wasnât nearly as bad.I also use it a lot as a hand vac, whether it be spilt cereal or cushions or the car itâs so easy to grab and use without fumbling with cords or wet rags or whatever. The battery life on hand vac and hard floor mode is great. I can do almost the whole house on turbo. You just gotta be smart and not keep it held down when you donât need it.Suction is pretty good for cordless I can really only compare it to hand vacs Iâve had in the past. When itâs not on max itâs about the same as those other vacuums but on max itâs like double. My only cons so far is lack of attachments and accessories. My old shark had way more attachments and tools. Most importantly Iâd like a hose and an extra battery and I canât seem to find either. Iâd really only knock half a star off for this but Amazon doesnât let you do half stars so Iâll just round up.
