Customers say
Customers find the robotic vacuum cleaner works well on tile and carpet floors. They consider it a good value for the money and a wonderful addition to their homes. However, some customers report issues with its sturdiness, such as it falling apart or having broken parts. Effective and Full-Featured
I’ve been using this for a month now and can’t think of anything I want it to be able to do that it isn’t already capable of. I’ve waited years for certain features to become available at this price point ($169.95). This robot was “Renewed” which is Refurbished / Open Box. This item did not appear to have been used previously and as far as I could tell it was actually new when I received it. No scratches whatsoever, cling plastic hadn’t been peeled off, all original packaging and instructions, no parts missing.Shark doesn’t list suction power for their robots and I had wondered if that meant it was in some way insufficient. Upright floor vacuums have at least 15,000, so distinguishing between a robot vacuum with an advertised 2,600Pa vs. one with a claimed 2,800Pa seems silly. After seeing how well the RV1001 cleans, I now understand why Shark doesn’t need to list their suction power. These small differences between units probably aren’t even accurate numbers, and are far from the only aspect of these machines that determines how well they clean. Does the unit of interest overlap previous paths to ensure complete coverage? Does it map to ensure no spots are missed? Does it have edge brushes on both sides to bring anything just outside the roller into the cleaning path? Is it good at parking itself at the dock even when it’s in a narrow spot? That’s what I wanted, and I got all of it. The option to clean specific rooms is good to have, and it will charge itself mid-run to avoid depleting its battery too much. Draining a lithium battery close to zero isn’t good for it, and this robot ensures that doesn’t happen.I also like it ability to control it from anywhere in the world. It’s hooked up to my Google Home, but I’m not sure if this is necessary for controlling it remotely or not.

Impressive
I bought my refurbished Shark IQ in October of 2020, it is now October of 2024 and I decided to leave a review because this thing has honestly been fantastic. I got a refurbished unit, and then proceeded to run it twice a day for the next four years (only missing days when we lost power). It has been through hell and back, gotten stuck everywhere imaginable (my fault), sucked up socks and cat toys to the point of needing surgical removal, been yelled at for getting tangled in wires, and still happily does its job every day. I’ve replaced the battery, and need to replace the charging connections because the ones in it are hot glued in for the time being, but there is definitely something to say for quality because I feel like I’ve abused it. While I will be rehoming it soon though as I’ve upgraded to a Matrix Plus, I can honestly say if you’re unsure about Shark, don’t be. This is a great deal for a capable autovac. I’ll miss you, Bruce.

So helpful for keeping pet hair under control.
I absolutely love this vacuum. It’s worth it’s weight in gold especially at the refurbished price. We have both a dog and a cat so fur accumulates pretty quickly in our apartment that’s in an old house. I love being able to turn on the roomba and it gets right to work picking up hair and any loose litter. It really helps keep the apartment clean when I don’t have the energy to go over it myself. I was nervous about buying it renewed/refurbished but it’s worked like it’s brand new.I will say that the app can be a little touch and go and that this isn’t a replacement for a vacuum that you manually control. You also have to make sure that you’re emptying it out before it cleans, otherwise the suction won’t work (like with any vacuum). It does miss a few spots and isn’t as powerful as a standup vacuum. However, the coverage is great in comparison to other robotic vacuums I’ve seen. It does do a good job mapping areas and going over most of the floor, especially if you compare it to other robot vacuums at this price point. Infinitely more effective than cheaper robot vacuums that turn and navigate randomly.

Recertified but looks and works like brand new.
This is a day one review. First I love Amazon recertified items! This Shark shipped double boxed with all the original tape and film on it at one half the price of a new one still active on Amazon. Looks brand new. Got it in two days. Unpack and set up was a breeze. Just snap the brushes on and set it on the dock. This one came fully charged. The wifi set up was pretty easy except for one part where you have to hold the two buttons on top of the Shark down and hit next on your phone at the same time. LOL Love the app especially the scheduling and mapping feature. This vacuum is not loud as others have reported, even in full power mode. I ran it on laminate flooring and it was not loud at all. I was worried when it was about halfway through because it was not going into the hard to get places. However, when it finished its straight-line cleaning it returned and got all the nooks and crannies. It also works fine on black low pile entry rugs. I have to laugh over the one review video from the homeowner that was displeased about how it performed on her 5″ thick shag carpet! Be real! It cleaned and mapped my 680sqft basement in 40 minutes on high power mode. Going forward it will continue to map and get more efficient. It did not jar the furniture when it bumped it and I noticed that on its return it remembered where the legs were and did not bump at all. I had a few electrical cords under a couch and tables. No tangles! I did purchase the additional 2 years warranty as I do on all recertified stuff. Like I said this was day one. I will report back if I run into any issues. It does have a smaller brush role/suction path than some others out there. If it continues to perform well I will buy another for my upstairs. That is if there are any half-price recertified ones left!
