    Super Vac!!!!
This vacuum should come with a Superman Cape!!! I was very impressed with the job the SC899F has done with my carpet. I have high pile residential carpet in my home. Once a month my cleaning lady vacuums using Sanitaire Commercial Vac when she leaves the carpets looked and felt like new. I bought the SC899F for my own use because I want to have the new and fresh cleaning carpet all the time. My Sanitaire came with a shake out bag, I know this wasn’t going to work for me so I purchased a regular cloth bag to use the type F/G bags with the machine.I wanted to test the Sanitaire’s deep clean ability so i used my 2008 Baggless Pet Vac (new Air Filter/belt) over an area of carpet in my home. I then put a bag in the SC899F and vacuumed over the same area. We’ll I learned the hard way about putting the bag’s in the proper direction because when I opened the Sanitaire’s cloth bag there was dust every where. But yet I was very excited to see the dust because I knew this SC899F was picking up alot that my Pet Vac was leaving behind. Needless to say I put the bag back in correctly and proceeded to vacuum the rest of my home. The suction on this vacuum is crazy, I can see the vacuum pick up the carpet and do it’s thing. I found it easy to maneuver along the base boards and clean I did not miss having wand.Being commercial I can understand this vacuum not having a light but who cares you can vacuum in the dark with this thing and it can still get the job done.Great Vac/Great Price/Great Looking Carpet

    Great Choice For Professional Use!
I use this to pre-vacuum carpets before bonnet cleaning with the Oreck Orbiter, and it does a great job. It is fairly easy to break it down for cleaning (fan chamber, brush roll, etc). The shake out bag does emit dust when bumped and on start up if it isn’t kept clean. But fortunately, cleaning out the bag isn’t too hard. I generally vacuum it out with my Dyson hose and gently turn the bag inside out to really remove all the fine particles. One tip, this vacuum relies on air flow to work well, so don’t set the vacuum too low. It doesn’t pick up as much when set too low, and it’s hard on the belt so don’t do it! For carpets, and if you do a lot of carpets, this is a great vacuum. For general cleaning, no tools means it doesn’t do as much around the house as a typical vacuum, but it is a specialty item for carpet and rug use only. If that is what you need, this is the one!

    Great vacuum, but very loud!
Excellent vacuum! I bought one for my dad so he can use it at his store. He vacuums every morning and he has gone through dozens of vacuums. So far, this one is the best one. It works perfectly and picks up way more than any other vacuum we’ve purchased. We finally decided to go for a higher quality product and it seems to be paying off. The only downside is how loud it is! However, since it works so well, it is definitely worth the noise level. The company took a little longer than we would have liked to get the order processed, but it came within a few weeks of ordering. I would definitely recommend!

    Strong, Reliable, Heavy Duty
I work at a banqueting facility with a two main dining rooms and multiple smaller conference rooms. All rooms are carpeted and multiple events are held in each of the rooms throughout the day seven days a week. A few years back, the previous GM had purchased a pair of Dysons in addition to the two Sanitaires already in use at double the cost. We ended up throwing out the Dysons after a few months because both had broken down. To be fair, those Dysons were probably more for home use. Nonetheless, we’ve used and abused the Sanitaires at my workplace before and after every event for the past 10+ years. I recently purchased two of these to replace the two that have finally run their course and expect them to last just as long, if not more. For those that work in an industry where vacuuming is frequent, you’ll be glad you picked Sanitaire.Pros: Quality parts, powerful suction yet so easy to maneuver, shake-out bag system (no need to purchase disposable bags), great value.Cons: Noise level may be higher than other “home-use” vacuums.

    Don’t waste your money
My employees and I hate this vacuum. It’s not easy to maneuver. The belt breaks often. This is a “commercial” vacuum so one would expect to have a better daily experience with it since it is made for “commercial” use, but its not!! Don’t waste your money. It wont last long. I haven’t had this vacuum even a year yet and it’s horrible and I’m replacing parts. My residential vacuum has lasted and provided a better job for me. I wont be buying this type of vacuum ever again. What a waste of money!

THEY DON’T BUILD EM LIKE THEY USED TO !
I was looking for a vacuum with manual height adjustment for my “shag” carpet . I read all the reviews on this model and decided to give it a try .While this says “commercial” , I was expecting something built better than mostly plastic parts . Understanding our changing world , despite observing the lower quality plastic build of this vacuum when I opened the box , I decided I would keep it provided it would do a good job of vacuuming . I tried it out on our bedroom with the shag …sucked up the dust really well …this thing does have tremendous sucking power ! So far , so good ….then I took it to my home office area where the carpet is lower non-shag type . I turned the manual height adjustment from 6 down to 4 … still not low enough so I decided to turn down to 3 or lower . This is when the adjustment wheel decided to “bind up” and would not go to the lower positions . I remember seeing one review that said they had a difficult time with the adjustment wheel . So , with this issue fresh out of the box and already seeing that the build quality of this vacuum is questionable , I decided to return it . It is a shame …Sanitaire used to build quality stuff but this one is not an example of that …certainly not worth the $ 300 price tag .

Great vacuum that can take punishment. Parts are easily accessible and easy to change. Good for commercial environments, too heavy for home use.

This a professional use vacuum. It’s absolutely awesome if you know how, when to use it.It will last you forever, honestly forever if you take care of a few simple things (I have a cleaning company and one my oldest vacuums in the shop is a 20 year old Sanitaire And it’s still going with no problem😏)Just Learn how to change the belt that spin the brush, don’t vacuum big things like: nails, coins screws this is not the vacuum for that… this things will ruin the belt and you will have to be buying belts like crazy…. make sure you change the bag when is full.If you smell burning rubber don’t freak out your vacuum it’s not burning out it just something like a screw stock and it’s burning the belt, turn it off wait a couple of minutes so it’s not hot when you remove the screws and check that belt cause that’s it it’s time for a new belt ($5 to $7)Check the brush and take out carpet string or hair that prevents the brush from spinning. We have ours service ones a year cause que use them a lot.But I wouldn’t buy any other for long building hallways or carpets. It’s noise but get yourself nice headphones. The price for this one in particular is a treat cause I paid that much for the smaller one.

I have mixed feelings about this vacuum. The power of the suction and beater brush are great. If just doing straight carpets with this vacuum, don’t even think about it just buy it. But when it come to mats… the power of the suction becomes an issue. At no matter what height setting you have it at it will always suck up mats. Making this unusable at most commercial locations. I’ve cursed at this vacuum so many times. Also wish it came with attachments. But I do use it for prevac on carpet cleans. There is nothing better.

This put our Dyson to shame. Using to clean 2500 square feet of carpet in a commercial building 2-3 times weekly. The Dyson’s never lasted more than a year before they broke down. For less than half the price, this vacuum not only performs better, but also will last 10 times as long.
