Love Sanitaire
Had the previous model with just the bag on it… it was just dirty and dusty when emptying, started to smell. The cup design on this is wayyyy better than just the bag! Never going back!

Wow, what?!
I had a big brand vacuum that rhymes with “bison” and have been using it for years. I hate it. Finally I had the option sell it on to someone who might love it (doubt it). So just before I sold it, I used it one last time in out house upstairs where we have a low pile carpet. Cleaned it all up, sold it, and waited for this vacuum. Folks, I received this vacuum two days after selling my other one and decided to try it upstairs where I had just vacuumed only 48 hrs prior–I picked up a FULL container of additional “stuff” and we haven’t been up here much. I am blown away by this vacuum and I hope it continues to last. For those who are interested: the vacuum is made/assembled in Mexico which is nice.

Not so good with bare floors
When vacuuming carpet the unit does real well but for bare floors it is not so hot. On bare floors the beater bar brush often shoots particles out the back of the unit toward your feet. The over all quality of the unit seems decent for the price but there are cheap looking plastic clips that if broken will cause problems.

Vacuum
I like this vacuum very easy to clean

Design flaw.
It seemed to work great at first but I didn’t like emptying the dust/dirt cup because it was very difficult, awkward and even painful for my fingers. The latches are so stiff. Now the dirt cup will not seal tightly and when I’m using the vacuum dust shoots out of the gap, defeating the whole purpose of cleaning. Why couldn’t someone this company design a cup that is easy to unlatch and empty. Plenty of other vacuum manufacturers have figured this out.UPDATE: I’ve decided to give up fighting this poorly designed vacuum and look for another. to replace it with. The dust cup has become so difficult to unlatch and relatch I’ve had to ask my adult son or husband to do it and they are even struggling with it. They are farmers/ranchers who have miles of irrigation pipe and 8 center pivot circles to maintain, so they find the silly little plastic latches on the dust cup stiff and difficult. WHY did you design it like this? Soon as I turn it on dust billows all over the room from the bag or dust cup seal.Right now I can’t decide if I should run it over with a tractor or set it on fire.

Super sucker!
Holy guacamole!!! Does this thing suck…. in the best way possible. We vacuumed our floors a couple days ago with our old vac, got this and vacuumed again today. It was STARTLING how much it pulled out of our carpet.Like a lot…. An embarrassing amount. Apparently our other vac is crap, and this was the answer we didn’t know we needed.

Best vacuum cleaner ever…
I love this vacuum cleaner; especially the dirt container as I dislike buying and changing bags. I just save some of my plastic grocery bags and dump out the dirt into them. I gave my older model to one of my kids and it is still running great (it’s over 20 years old). The only thing I wish this newer model had was a choice of lengths in cords. The cord was too long for me. I know this is meant for professional use/offices, etc. I use it at home only. I still love it and would highly recommend.

It vacuums well, but…
This vacuum does seem to have great suction. That’s important. We have a separate hose vacuum for crevices and such so I rarely if ever use attachments and whatnot. This basic no frills vacuum is what I wanted even though we’re using it in a home rather than a commercial setting. It has a few issues though. Number one was the assembly. The instructions describe several models and even once I was sure I was looking at the right page, the vacuum was clearly redesigned since the instructions were last updated. That was frustrating, but I did get it assembled properly in the end. The dirt cup is fairly messy to empty. You have to shake the debris from the bag into the cup, and it wants to cling to the sides. You also have to unhook the top of the bag and undo two latches and slide it up and it’s a whole thing. I suspect it’s not a big deal once you’ve done it a few times. There really isn’t any cord storage. It’s just a hook. You have to roll up the cord and drape it up there and hope it doesn’t fall off. By the way, it falls off. You could unplug the extension cord and store it separately. But I’m kind of annoyed by a vacuum that comes with a giant cord and no good place to keep it. The biggest problem, which no one else has mentioned so perhaps we got a faulty one, is that the tilt latch (or whatever you call it) doesn’t work. The handle comes down without stepping on the lever, and the bottom flops down every time you pick up the vacuum. This makes it awkward to move from room to room and especially bad if you need to carry it up or down stairs.
