It cuts the mustard
Love it! I was not sure if it would cut the mustard. I have four dogs and their hair. It picks up great. I have had a dyson and it is heavy and I hate dumping the canister. This is so easy and quick.I guess time will tell but the dyson only lasted two years.FYI: the bag that is recommended with model is WRONG. I had to take the vacuum to the shop to find what I needed. This vacuum is an Oreck the shop had one bag had to order more. it is a common bAg. The B bag has a round opening this model has an ovalish Opening.Sept 2024- the vacuum is still great. It has amazing suction and picks up dog hair like there is no tomorrow. The only negative I have found is the cord could be about 10â longer. Other than that it is a great vacuum. Light weight entthat I can lift it up and vacuum the sofa and chair even the pool table.

Outstanding Value For the Money
I purchased this Royal vacuum (owned by the same company as Oreck, and Hoover) on steep discount (59.99) over the holidays. It is lightweight, well built, cleans very well, and the vacuum bags have huge capacity. Only downside other than the noise (loud) is that the brush cannot be turned off; thus the vacuum is good for light or medium pile and bare floors, but too powerful for area rugs. Also, note that there are no attachments.. I

Best 8 pound vacuum
I have had just about every vacuum you can think of, everything from a $50 walmart vacuum all the way to a $1800 kirby. I purchased this royal vacuum a few years ago on Amazon while looking for a light weight vacuum. This vacuum weighs almost nothing, it’s low profile easily goes under my bed and other furniture with ease. How does it perform you ask. This vacuum handles animal fur,dirt and sand like its nothing, don’t let its light weight fool you. Other than changing the dirt bag every 2-3 month and the belt occasionally it require almost no maintenance. I love this vacuum and just recently bought a spare just incase , I highly recommend this.
