Roborock Q5+

Robot VacuumRobot Vacuum

7-Weeks of Hands-Free Cleaning: The Self-Empty Dock automatically empties the Q5’s dustbin after each cleanup, so you don’t have to do it manually or frequently. Its 2.5L dust bag can hold up to 7 weeks of dirt.
Clean Smarter with PreciSense LiDAR Navigation: Extremely accurate LiDAR navigation creates precise maps that can even be viewed in 3D. You can also add furniture and floor materials to recreate your home virtually.
Clean Harder with Powerful 2700 Pa Suction: With an incredible maximum suction power of 2700 Pa, the Q5 easily lifts debris and pet hair from floors and drags it out from deep inside carpets.
Clean Better with the Multi-Plane Floating Main Brush: A multi-plane floating brush keeps the brush closer to the ground for deeper cleaning, even on uneven surfaces. It is strongly resistant to hair tangles and perfect for homes with pets.
Keeps Going for Longer: Powered by high-capacity battery and a 470 ml dustbin, you get long lasting cleaning that can easily tackle most homes in one clean.

    Worth the money
This is our first robotic vacuum purchase. I was hesitant until I read all the great reviews and decided to take a chance. Set up was super easy, mapping couldn’t have been better, and it works phenomenally well. We have carpet and tile. It is a bit louder on the hard tile surface, but SO much quieter than my upright.I recommend checking the onboard waste bin after it docks and empties it. The unit picked up so much pet hair ours was packed inside. I removed it, and check it routinely, just to ensure it isn’t getting clogged up.The vacuum does a fantastic job maneuvering around furniture, just make sure all electric cords are secured out of the way. We close off areas we don’t want the unit to go into (there is probably an easy way to mark those automatically). We have ours scheduled on certain days at a specific time. It announces that it’s starting, when it’s emptying the dust bin, and charging. The remote control app is easily navigable. I like that it is intelligent and changes patterns each run so it isn’t wearing a pattern into the carpet. We have had no issues with our vacuum. It is worth the investment.

    Great vacuum!
I was a little skeptical about purchasing, having used several other automated vacuums in the past from another brand, however, they are 5 years old now and it’s obvious there were significant upgrades in the technology since then. I am very pleased with the mapping function, self emptying, the noise level and the lack of fiber brushes on the underside. My old models used the fiber brushes that would constantly overload with dog hair, causing me to have to clean them every day. I was extremely surprised to see that after a week of daily use, the dual fiberless brushes held no dog hair at all and required no cleaning! This vacuum is being used in a 600 sq ft area with laminate floors and area rugs, this room has never looked better!I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.

    OBSESSED!!!!
When my 2 year old Shark self empty robot vac died suddenly, I knew I would have to replace immediately. Fortunately I had purchased a 3 year warranty here for it, which was immediately applied to Amazon account. After 3 solid hours of research for the best vacuum-only (no mopping) replacement model, I bought this. Talk about LIGHT YEARS BETTER than the old model!! I am obsessed! GREAT suction and self emptying, fast and efficient on my wood floors, and wonderful app that I can set up regular cleaning schedules and a spot clean of any room anytime. (If you spot clean a room you can hit the x2 button and it will go in a cross hatch pattern!!) The unit is large, holds a lot and is very powerful. Finally have clean, vacuumed wood floors with 5 dogs and lots of traffic in and out. A Godsend in disguise when my old model died. I bought another 3 yr warranty for this one since it’s going to get hard minimum twice daily use. I love turning it on via app at work and watching it clean an extra time on the map. The lidar checks the room before every cleaning, the vacuum does a perimeter cleaning then starts it’s pattern. The battery lasts. The two rubber roller bars don’t get tangled with fur or hair, the sweeper brush is wide enough to grab fur and dust/debris along baseboards and perimeters. The tidy dust bag means never emptying a cloud of dust and fur into your garbage can. Can’t recommend this unit highly enough!!! If you want a vacuum-only unit THIS IS THE ONE.

    Infuriating and Disappointing Updated
The first three days the Roborock performed flawlessly. I was so happy; I threw the box away. Then the trouble started. While cleaning, the Roborock started adding rooms that did not exist. No problem, put the imaginary rooms in No-Go Zones. That didn’t work because the Dock was too close to one of the No-Go Zones and would not leave the Dock. I removed the offending No-Go Zone. The next day the Roborock wandered aimlessly, turn in circles, cleaned small areas over and over again and went into other rooms. The Roborock did not know where the Dock was. It would collide with the Dock because there was an imaginary room on the other side of the wall. It wanted to go through that wall. It would not go to the Dock through the app either. No problem, restore a previous map. The next day the Roborock did not operate. I didn’t realize that you had to reenter all routines when you restore a previous map. I finally figured this out after a couple of days.I reentered the routines. The Roborock worked perfectly for the first room but added another imaginary room. When the Roborock entered the second room, it went rouge again. It wandered aimlessly, turn in circles, cleaned small areas over and over again, went into other rooms, could not find the Dock and collided into the Dock. The space that I am attempting to clean is a large open room that I divided into smaller rooms for cleaning. I clean half of the room in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. There are also windows and doors in this room but no mirrors. The bottom of the lowest window is two feet above the floor. It appears to me that the Lidar is beaming up too much, finding the glass and creating imaginary rooms. The Lidar needs to operate at floor level only.I don’t want to have to remap or restore an earlier version of the map every time that the Roborock cleans. I don’t want to reenter my routines every time I remap or restore, which may need to be done every day. The Lidar works great locating objects at floor level instead of banging into the objects like a Roomba does. If you have windows or doors in your house, I would advise against buying a Roborock. I wish that I had purchased another Roomba.Update: Imaginary rooms problem solvedImaginary rooms are created when the Lidar beams through glass. I took a Xmas card and taped it to the top of the Roborock (see attached picture). I had hoped that the card would block the Lidar from beaming through the glass. It’s been almost three weeks and the Roborock has not created any imaginary rooms. It is now operating as it should, so I’m changing my rating to four stars.

We’d used an early model Roomba for years before getting this, but it always seemed like the Roomba was more hassle than it was worth. Rooms had to be pre-tidied – Light Barriers (and suitcases) had to be set up to limit the area being cleaned; choking hazards had to be discovered and quarantined beforehand. Many Roomba sessions were cut short by errors, or the device trying to bite off more than it could chew. The device often had a hard time finding it’s base dock to recharge, and of course, it always had to be emptied and inspected for tangles after each session.I bought this Roborock model after seeing how much the tech had advanced. The best changes:1. Lidar room mapping means no more needing to set up physical barriers to limit the cleaning area. The app lets you designate specific rooms, and the device knows where it is.2. The cleaning patterns are no longer random. The device plots an efficient grid pattern, and uses only as much time as it needs to clean.3. Self emptying makes it a real “fire and forget” process. Inspection and maintenance is still a good idea, but that doesn’t need to be done after every session.4. Alexa and Google Home integration. I can just ask it to clean the living room, and it does it. I was even able to give it the name of one of my kids, so I get the satisfaction of saying “Hey Google, ask Matthew to clean the living room”, and something ACTUALLY gets done right away!Reviews for Roborock are very solid, and the Q7 model was a strongly rated device at a competitive price. I’m a fan.
