With its innovative design, the RIDGID 1650RV Motor-on-Bottom Wet Dry Vacuum makes cleanup quicker and easier. With the motor on the bottom, the 16-gallon shop vacuum provides stability and makes accessing the filter and drum easier.
The 6.5 Peak Horsepower motor delivers power and performance, while a foot-activated switch allows for hands-free operation. Patented Scroll Noise Reduction technology controls airflow for reduced operating noise. The wet dry vacuum has a cart and large rear wheels for easy travel over rougher terrain.
A hook keeps the 20-foot power cord with ALCI outlet neatly stored, and a caddy bag keeps accessories organized. The 1-7/8-inch by 8-foot locking hose won’t pull loose while in use, ensuring optimized air flow. It can also lock into the blower port for removing leaves and debris from walkways, decks or job sites.
A large drain on the polypropylene drum lets you easily empty liquids, and the patented Qwik Lock Filter Fastening System allows easy filter installation or removal without the need for fasteners or tools. The wet dry vacuum cleaner comes complete with fine-dust filter (model VF5000), two 2-1/2-inch wands, a utility nozzle, a car nozzle and a crevice tool.
RIDGID covers its products with a lifetime warranty against defects in material or workmanship for the life of the tool.
Since 1923, RIDGID has remained the symbol of certainty to dedicated professionals of the expert trades. Every tool that bears the RIDGID brand is engineered to the same high standards of quality, strength and endurance, as was that first heavy-duty pipe wrench more than 80 years ago.
The 6.5 Peak Horsepower motor, quiet operation, and foot-activated switch for hands-free performance make this shop vac a top pick for professionals
The bottom-motor design ensures easy drum emptying and the quick-access door lets you dump in larger debris as you work to save you time and effort
The storage bag and cord-hook secure attachments and the 20-foot power cord, while the push-handle cart and large rear wheels improve mobility
The ultra-flexible, 1-7/8-inch x 8-foot hose locks in place, is four times more durable than our standard hose, and fits 2-1/2-inch accessories
The drain port ensures quick and complete liquid disposal, and the blower port lets you clear away leaves, dirt and debris for versatile performance

nice looking unit, great quality and quiet
I replaced my 20 year old 6.5hp rigid vac with this…. major improvement on suction and quiet plus it looks nicer. I don’t thin the hose will crush either

Very nice concept but low durability
Loved the idea and concept behind the vacuum of having the motor on the bottom making it easier to empty. The downside was after using it just once I noticed the clip on the base that helps hold the canister down wasn’t fully engaging the canister (see photo). The canister still stays attached to the base from the latch in front but when you lift up the entire vacuum it doesn’t feel secure in the rear where the clip should be engaging. I tried utilizing the Rigid customer service as they claim to have a great warranty but they simply redirected me to find a service center (none were found within 50 miles) or pay to ship the 2 week old vacuum to them. I was still within the Amazon return window so the vacuum was returned via Amazon.

Didn’t last a month! We used this for our shop where we already have 4 other shop vacuums that are from Fein and Festool. I thought I would try this new model from Ridgid, which is third of the price then a Fein… well, the electrical switch didn’t last one month. It is now on a pile of junk to be, hopefully, fixed. The old saying still true, you get what you pay for!

Love it!
Oh my, beats any “motor-on-top” hands down. So much easier to move about.

Five Stars
Strong suction and quite for a vacuum

Bad Switch from factory, have to unplug to power off.
After thinking I was doing myself a favor getting a Ridgid Vac now I have to either return the entire vac to get a unit that turns off or spend time taking it to a service center. As a business owner my time does not grow on trees and Ridgid would not simply send me a new switch under warranty.

Arrived broken and missing parts 🙁
Received my rigid shop vac today with high expectations. Not only was the box destroyed during shipping (hey, it happens), the vacuum is missing several key components and does not work. Iâm shocked that this would leave their warehouse in the condition that they shipped it. My last Ridgid lasted over 15 years. This one arrived DOA. Sad.
