Major suction power, great for cleaning gravel or just changing water
This is larger than I was expecting but not in a bad way at all. It can drain my 36 gallon down 1/5 in a few short minutes. Like most reviewers I used the suction to clean the sludge out of my gravel. It really works like a charm and sucks the brown cloudy stuff right out. I got the Python ball pump to fit on the end. I definitely suggest getting it, since the other way to create the siphon seems like a real pain. With the ball and siphon, it’s quick, and easy and actually makes changing the water kind of fun and fulfilling to get all that sludge out of the stones. Because of the volume of suction, I can only clean about 1/4 of the gravel before the tank is adequately drained. It doesn’t bother me, but some people who are more focused on cleaning should opt for the small size.

    Product works well
I bought this to clean my fish tank rocks. I use it for a 55 gallon tank. I like that it’s not super long but long enough to do what I need to. Works well you just have to make sure you get the air bubbles out to get it to suction. Once it gets going it does a great job and quickly.

Best suited for tanks over 30 gallons – lots of suction!
This thing is a beast! I have a 30 gallon tank and this Python Vacuum cleans things out very quickly but also takes a lot of water with it. By the time I’ve vacuumed most of the poop out I’ve lost a few gallons of water, but that just reduces all the additional water changes I’d need to do. It’s fairly easy to use, just submerge it in the water and try to get as much air out of each end of it as you can. Set up you BIG bucket and let it flow! I have a blood parrot cichlid who isn’t bothered at all by it so cleaning is a snap. I used to have the Python that attached to a faucet so cleaning was a bit easier, but given that this was significantly cheaper, I’m very happy with its performance. Finn and I give it two fins up!

Medium Far too big for 30gal
I got the medium and the Thing is really good, it’s quality, but I feel as though the diameter of the tubing is far too large, not the settling chamber part, and siphons way too fast for a 30 gal. Especially if you have sand substrate, plants and scenery to deal with. It would be good for a much larger tank but then it would be too short. Just my opinion.

Got this as was fed up of my smaller syphon taking too long to clean the tank. This offers a much larger cleaning area reducing the time. I added a hose attachment to the end with some garden hose meaning I can run it straight to my water butt.Only downside is if you get a small fish/ shrimp in it there isn’t really anything stopping them making the full journey out of the tank. However can be rectified with some mesh fabric used inside or on the end of the syphon.

Does the job of cleaning aquarium gravel very well. We have 140 litre tank and it’s more than adequate for that. The syphon is quite big and you need quite a bit of space to move it around the tank so make sure you have the space.

This suction tube and siphon is great. The siphon is very fast and picks up all the debris from the substrate on the bottom of the fish tank.
