It has two filters in it
Works very well . The hose is nice not like the plastic hose some cleaners have . The only thing that would make it better is a narrow attachment to get in small places like in a pellet stove other than that it is a nice cleaner . UpdateUsed vacuum for a season to clean pellet stove .The dust bag has started to ware out where it sits on the rim . That to me is no big deal . But the problem is I can’t seem to find a replacement bag or filter. If you can’t replace them then this vacuum is not worth buying .Update 1/27/21 I found the replacement filters you have to call alton industries 1(888)899-01 ext2 give them the filter numbers you want and the will ship them out to you.

Excellent suction great for outdoor use
The Good: Excellent suction, small lightweight, quiet operation, awesome priceThe Bad: Incompatible with all crevice toolsThe Ugly: Ash filter wore out within just a few uses and replacements cannot be found anywhere. Spewed ash into home leaving dust everywhere. Conclusion: returned item and will happily pay more for higher quality.

Bad Product, Worse Company
Update: Porter Cable refused to respond to the Better Business Bureau. Clearly an untrustworthy company.Update: Porter Cable does not honor the warranty on any vacuums, per their customer service rep. I filed a complaint with the BBB but since Porter Cable isn’t even accredited by them, I doubt they’ll act on it.They also delete all negative reviews on their website.Terrible company, give your business elsewhere.I purchased this Vacuum in October to clean my pellet stove. It worked great at first but slowly began losing suction. After three months, it had absolutely no suction and is completely useless now. I’m now waiting on Porter-Cable to contact me back about the supposed 3 year warranty. I will update this review when they reply, but as of now, I do not recommend this vacuum.

Make sure it is for ash removal
Itâs small enough to keep it beside the pellet stove works great very strong does a good job ð

Nice unit
I am generally happy about this purchase. Suction decreases too much for me to suck out a full ash load. I was hoping to avoid the use of ash shovel to clean out my wood stove that I use for heat. It does help to safely clean up areas I can’t scoop. Unit is easy to dump and clean.
