After about one year of owning this vacuum I’m very happy with it. Battery life is good and has continued to hold a charge well. We use this vacuum daily to keep the house free of dog hair. We have about 1500 sq feet to vacuum and can get two cleanings out of a charge. The build quality is excellent and the vacuum feels sturdy and substantial. Cleaning performance is excellent for our needs as we have tile and area rugs. The low power setting provides plenty of suction and maximizes battery life. The filter has only needed light cleaning and works great. If there are any downsides to the vacuum it’s the small dustbin size. Daily maintenance is easy just empty the dustbin and tap the filter inside a garbage bin to release any dust. A couple times a month I use a different vacuum to clean the filter and that has worked well so far. Also a couple times a month I cut any hair wrapped around the brush. Super easy. Highly recommend this vacuum!!!!

Quality! Quality! We Named Her: The White Tornado!
Hello, my name is Tim and I am addicted to vacuuming. Twice a day minimum with a few spot vacuuming as needed.Had two Dyson cordless vacuums over the past 8 years. The last one, V6, had the battery replaced, the long tube and the motor separated from the canister a few weeks ago. Thought I would get a Dyson V10.I realized I was on the Dyson upgrade merry go round. One cheaply made product that falls apart and fails after 12-18 months so I have to buy the next model. SOUND FAMILIAR? Did some research and choose the Meile. What I like:Suction is very good. We have 95% hardwood and marble tile floors. Picks everything up. The occasional kitty kibble needs a second pass, but other than that, it works great.Like that it stands up on it’s own. No more looking for a safe place to lean the cordless to move something.Even on the highest power, I am getting 50 – 55 minutes per charge.Battery is easy to replace should I ever need to.Hepa filter is a must for us. Allergies. The dust collector is a plus. While it may be smaller than the Dyson, it is MUCH easier to dump the debris.Quality built machine. We bought a Meile corded vacuum, a Solaris, 18 years ago. Works like it did when it was new. We have a 19 year old Meile dishwasher. Works like new. We also have a Miele side loaded clothes washer that is 14 years old. See the trend? Meile makes quality appliances that last forever. I hope this is the last cordless vacuum we will ever buy. What I don’t like:I really wanted a light on the vacuum like some $100 cordless vacuums have. To get one on the Meile you have to get the top of the line model. Since this is the first Meile cordless, I decided to not spend an additional $300 for a light on the machine. Plus, we really like the white color of the base model. It’s a little heavier than the Dyson. Could it be because it’s built to last?Overall, we are VERY happy with the White Tornado.UPDATEAfter 3 months, the battery died. I called Miele, was put on hold for 42 minutes, and the reluctantly acknowledged the battery was under warranty and they would ship one out to me. IN MARCH! At least a month out!The “Customer service” person question me and accused me of probably not properly charging the battery when I bought the product. Really? I followed instructions and it worked for 3 months.Miele does not have batteries but Amazon does. Miele has new products to sell why can’t they pull a battery from a new vacuum?Beware!Update the replacement battery came. Does not charge. Worked for less than a minute. TOTAL JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!So Miele sent a replacement battery to me. Todays interaction:ustin from Miele called. He was very nice and informative. Explained that I may have overcharged the battery. Never heard of this and do not know if that is actually possible?I went through he refreshing of the battery as directed. After 30 minutes, as directed, I tested the vacuum. Worked for 30 seconds and died.Put charging cord back into the battery for 2 hours as directed. Kept flashing in the bottom cell and never moved to the middle or top cell.Justin claims if this does not work, it may be the charging cord or I may have to go to a Miele service center. I am not Miele’s service and delivery boy.I left Justin a message on his phone. This machine stoped working after two months! I DEMAND a replacement. I would ask for a refund if possible, however, AMAZON said it’s not.To date I have spent more time trying to get this fixed than I have using the product.

I got the base model, in white. I’ve been a Miele vacuum fan for years, owning a cannister and the older stick style vacuum they no longer make. The stick vacuum died after 16 years of almost daily use. I may try to repair it. The cannister is still going well, and is my heavy duty cleaner. I looked hard at all the cordless choices out there, compared reviews, specs and features. All brands and models will have issues for certain buyers and their expectations. I decided to go with a brand that had been reliable for me and other family members.Opening the box, assembly was rather intuitive and easy. Just choose the configuration that you like. I prefer the motor head lower, so it stands up on its own, something most the others can’t do, and a big deal for me. But it is very easy to change around. I haven’t decided if I will install the charging/storage cradle in my utility room or not yet. For now just plugging the charger into the battery will be fine. Initial vacuuming, this thing sucks…..up a lot of stuff. I was very pleased how it did with my medium pile carpet. It even leaves the nice “vacuum” marks on the carpet. I’ve found the highest power setting does the trick on the carpet. For the floors, the medium setting does just fine. When I finished the downstairs the lint cup was full. I was amazed of how much it picked up. Yeah emptying it is a bit messy, but I do it into my kitchen trash that has a liner. Bu t dust wasn’t going all over etc. Bags are not cheap and I prefer this so far. Does it hold a lot? Maybe not as much as others but so be it, again I was using bags before and bags aren’t cheap.I like that it fits all my other Miele attachments so far (extensions and bushes etc). The best being my Micro tools I use for the car. No more lugging out a corded vac to clean the car. This is a very big plus for me.Is it super noisy? No. I saw some reviews say it’s louder. Compared to my old stick vac and Cannister it is not that loud to me. Maybe it’s louder because it had such good suction?Overall, it looks nice, performs well. I’ll update this more after using it for a few months (durability, battery life etc). This looks to be a good unit for the day to day touch ups and normal cleaning duties. I have a two story townhouse and it may be enough for cleaning both floors at the same time, though I rarely vacuum both floors the same day…. But so far, I like this. Update it works great on my medium pile carpet. Really get stuff out and leaves it looking like it was vacuumed by a bigger machine. Really using this as my go to vacuum now.

However, I wanted something a little more convenient than a plug-in to clean up after my toddler. The amount of fine dust and debris this vacuum has pulled from my carpets is astonishing and a bit disturbing. I agree with some reviewers that the vacuum is a bit heavy when compared to other cordless options but in my experience, heavy is good when it comes to durability. Although I don’t have a reference point on battery life, this model comes with a spare so I can easily vacuum all the carpeting in my townhouse without running out of power – my instinct is that the battery life could be better but it hasn’t been a dealbreaker. As also mentioned, the beater can become fouled with long hair or fibres but it’s easily remedied. And complaints about the dust bin are unfounded – it’s easy to empty and clean. I hope to never buy a replacement but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another HX1 Pro if needed.

Also the battery life is greatThe only negative thing I have to say is that the box was opened when I got it and I had to pre order the thing in advanced because I bought it before they were released so I don’t know why they would have to open the box. Nothing was missing or anything

My previous corded Miele has been around almost 20 years and is still going, but I wanted a cordless. I expect this one should also last as long. An amazing value!

I researched the vacuum on u-tube etc. Fantastic machine, has a Hepa filter, we have 5 cats. On the Miele web site it comes with a 5 year warranty that is serviced by local businesses in you city! Bonus!! so on Amazon you can buy a 2 year warrant I think for $175. if it breaks, have to send it back to who you bought it from. Don’t need it Miele has warranty. So I get it and you go the Miele web site register for the warranty punch in the serial number and…… the web site rejected my application??? So I call Miele and asked why, they said “That serial number indicates vacuum came from the US!!” no warranty. So buy the vacuum from Miele! I think it’s a scam!
