Awesome Vac! Fits Festool!
Strictly based upon first impressions, and without extensive use, this is a surprisingly solid tool. I own many Metabo HPT tools and rely on them to make a living. This vac is quite lightweight, even with the battery and accessories attached. The switch is nice, the handle is easy to hold onto, the attachments are quality, some even being metal. Another plus is that the accessories and hose attach securely to the unit, meaning everything can easily be transported together. The HEPA filter and dust bag are beneficial, especially if one needs the use the vacuum for fine dust particles such as sheetrock dust or wood dust from a sander. Probably the biggest surprise for me was that the included hose perfectly fits my Festool sander, as well as my Festool HKC track saw. Wow!! Great job, Metabo HPT!The one minus so far is that top of the unit is a little difficult to attach to the dust bucket when the dust bag is installed. Itâs not terrible, but itâs a bit tricky.Update: As others have mentioned, the Flex cordless vacuum bags fit this tool, but it can also be used without the bags, just like any other shop vac. Iâve had this vacuum on my job sites for a bit, and I really canât find much at all to dislike about the tool. I did wrap a small piece of painterâs tape around the metal pipe ends in order to snug the fit up a little, but other than that, itâs been awesome!

convenient, but poorly designed
its a good vacuum, convenient, but stuff that gets sucked into the hose tends to fall back out when the tool is turned off, so it trails dirt and dust wherever you bring it which is very obnoxious. the hoses also dont connect to eachother very well and like to fall off during use. good buy on sale but kind of annoying to use frequently

Great power but you’re going to need to modify to modify
They got tons of power excellent idea but the hose is way too small at the ends so it clogs very very easily and I mean so easily you’ll be vacuuming sand and it gets clogged in 5 seconds I understand it’s a portable battery powered shop vac but it’s annoying and the wands and pieces don’t fit well at all almost like it was rushed and not tested in r and d . but with a few tools and you can cut and modify your hose or better yest but a totally different hose and paisinly adapters and make this better that’s what I did and now it’ works .Although I’m happy with it now I wouldn’t do I had to do this I probably would have waited and got something designed better .

Stop and rethink this purchase.
This product has a design flaw. Not enough suction, a small hose diameter (non-standard so other attachments wont fit) and then a gasket which is even smaller that prevents material from making it to the bag.Its totally useless, clogs on pet hair and sawdust. I have dumped more material from the hose than from the bag.Also, other better rated units cost less. Metabo should never have sold this design.I tried to return it but missed the date. Straight to the dumpster, not worth the frustration of tying to get it to work. Brooms are more efficient.

Metabo hpt 18v portable vacuum
This vacuum is for light post work clean up, nothing too heavy. It vastly outperforms my Milwaukee m18 and M12 Fuel models. I do not like that it is too heavy and falls over hower. Great hose length and size. Nice to have a shoulder strap for porting around up into attics and around my work truck cleaning up sawdust.
