With lower noise and zero emissions, the 18V LXT® Brushless Blower / Vacuum Mulcher Kit with 4.0Ah battery (XBU07SM1) is a welcome solution for clean-up applications. The commercial design allows the blower to tackle demanding applications, comparable to gas blowers. The Brushless Blower / Vacuum Mulcher easily converts from blower to vacuum and mulcher. The Makita-built brushless motor delivers speeds up to 143 MPH and up to 148 CFM. The brushless motor delivers up to 215 CFM and 13″ water lift of suction power. Makita’s efficient Brushless Motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per battery charge than similar non-brushless tools. Electronic controls efficiently use battery energy to match the changing demands of the application for increased power and speed when needed. Makita’s Brushless Motors run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. The Brushless Blower / Vacuum Mulcher features a cruise control lever providing management of power and run time. The power switch can be locked on for continuous operation. It features a durable metal impeller shredding blade that cuts leaves into fine mulch. The XBU07SM1 features a sound pressure rating of only 62 dB(A); measured per ANSI B 175.2 standard. The collection bag holds up to 6.6 gallons of leaves. The precision suction power aids in fallen leaf cleanup without altering stone and rock settings in plant beds. It also features removable wheels for better maneuverability in a variety of terrain. The XBU07SM1 features Makita® Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™). XPT™ is a protective seal inside the tool and is engineered for improved operation in harsh conditions by channeling water and dust from key internal components. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

Lael Jones –
Powerful leaf blower/sucker, sucky battery.
Powerful leaf blowing and mulching. Bag easy(ish) to empty. Battery life lacking – only lasts 20 mins or so. Not great for a house with multiple trees dumping mass leaves. I still love it though.
Joseph J. –
Poor product
Battery only lasted 15 minutes. Decided to return it.

Excellent vacuum clean up tool! Donât get to be a blower
I have a 40v makita blower that i use just about everyday. I never use the blower function of this mulching tool. Itâs vacuum only for me. I think itâs just powerful enough to get the job done. This tool shines in spots where a powerful leaf blow would blow your pile into the neighbors yard. Which would require a respectable person to bend over and scoop the pile into a trash can. It can suck up a lot of dirt which I find impressiveIt can suck a macadamia tree leaf which is definitely a big rigid leaf. They can also get stuck which requires a tap on the ground or your hand to push it throughI take my new mulch and dump it by my fruit trees.
Robert Segerson –
suction weak, does not get close enough using wheels
with out being able to use wheels must bear full weight and hold within a few inches of dry leaves. Not good for a bad back.

Disappointing battery
I have always thought highly of Makita quality. This leaf blower/vac surely misses the big leagues.Today, I took the battery off the charger and the machine worked well, for about 20 minutes. Not enough to finish. After one hour and twenty minutes to recharge less than fully. It worked for about 10 minutes and died. The first time I tried it, it was less than fully charged. It would not even perform. I fully charged it,had to wait a few days to try it out and the battery did not perform. $300, I should bave bought a lesserbrand.
Mike the Engineer –
Handy but heavy.
Wish it would suck up acorns too.

Good multi functional tool
This thing works well for what it was designed to do. Itâs not the most powerful blower that Makita makes but that is because of its design to also work as a leaf vacuum/Mulcher. For the vacuum and mulching it works great. I wouldnât get this tool if you will use it mostly as a blower but itâs nice that it does both functions. It can get a bit heavy but it comes with a shoulder strap to help alleviate that.
