Vacuum head is very narrow, takes longer to vacuum the same area now
My 22 year old, bagless Kenmore finally stopped working and all the vacuums that are readily available at big box stores or online (Amazon, Walmart, etc) are now quite a bit smaller than vacuums from the past. I found this vacuum the easiest to dump the dirt from the canister, but my major complaint(s), and why I knocked off 2 stars, are the width of the vacuum head, the location of the on/off switch and the ridiculous placement of the lever that allows the vacuum to tilt back. My old vacuum had a cleaning head 13″ wide, compared with this model which is only 9″ wide, meaning it now takes me twice as long to vacuum an area as before because I have to make so many more passes through the carpet. Also, the on/off switch is located halfway down the vacuum handle instead of being on top of the handle where it would be much more convenient and easier to turn off and on. And thirdly, there is no foot lever at the back of the vacuum to be able to release the upright position. Instead, you have to place your entire foot on the vacuum head while at the same time pulling the vacuum handle down into to tilted position. Why mess with great features that worked beautifully on older vacuums?
