No More Pet Hair and No Problems!
There are many more Irobot and other brands of robotic vacuums out there to choose from and most with many more features than this one. In my opinion those others just have more possibilities of something malfunctioning and stopping the whole vacuum. This iRobot Roomba E5 (5150) Robot Vacuum is the basic Roomba vacuum whose principal function is to suck up everything in its wake ⦠which I think is the chief function of all of the rest of them. None of them move your furniture or pick up socks or hair ties, you will always have to do that yourself. But this little lady, whom I affectionately call Hazel, keeps our floors clean and free of cat hair. Follow all directions and keep her clean and sheâll do the same for you.

Make Sure Base Station is in a Room where Roomba Often Goes
Weâve had the Roomba E5 for a month, and overall this vacuum is amazing! Runs up to 2 hours on a charge. Suction is good enough for any standard cleaning needs, and even for a few larger spills or cleanups. Covers 1500 square feet of floor effectively. It is a cumulative effect, so donât be discouraged if the first run doesnât get your floor spotless. We run ours (scheduled on the very user friendly app) three times a week. We have hardwood floors with a few area rugs, two dogs and a teenager, and after a few runs our floors were PERFECT, and have stayed that way!Remember this is not a full size upright vacuum cleaner, so donât expect it to act like one. Run it on a regular schedule, empty the container, and make your floors easily accessible to the robot. Itâs dumb, so if something is in its way it will just bounce off and go somewhere else!*IMPORTANT* The unit DOES NOT have mapping capabilities. The only way it will find itâs way back to its charging base is by line-of-site. In other words, it has to randomly get close enough for itâs IR sensor to âseeâ the charging base. If it doesnât find it in time, it will die wherever itâs battery runs out. If that happens to be under the couchâ¦. So, PUT THE BASE IN A ROOM THAT THE ROBOT OFTEN ENDS UP IN! For us itâs the kitchen. Lotâs of ways in and out of there, and Roomba ends up there quite a bit. When the battery gets low it will automatically go into homing mode and dock as soon as itâs in range. Itâs really satisfying when you hear that happy little chime it makes when it docks and you get that notification on your phone that says âRoomba Has Completed a Job!â

It’s silver
I bought it thinking it was a rose/gold color like in the pic, but it’s silver. This is the third Roomba I’ve owned. This model works okay but I feel that the older models were designed better. This model’s bin is smaller and the design makes it harder to empty. The handle is harder to grab and this model doesn’t make the traditional beeping sounds that the previous models made. I miss my old Roomba but alas, I will make the best of new relationship with Roombiticus III.

Update- very disappointed
â ï¸***1 year update*** Iâm sad to say this veryexpensive iRobot is much worse than my inexpensive iLife. Even with app updates the Wi-Fi controls literally never work. I have to push the button on the machine to get it to vacuum. It rarely makes it back to its charging port either & when it does it doesnât set itself right to take a charge. iRobot customer support could care less. Iâve sent several emails and only get bot replies. Iâm done with iRobot. Do yourself a favor and go with a cheaper brand, they work better than this thing ever did.â¼ï¸***UPDATE***Well the WiFi rarely works and has to re-boot constantly (itâs the robot not my wi-if service) but the WORST PART Iâve found out during use the past few months is itâs AWFUL for pet hair. There seems to be a DESIGN FLAW getting the pet hair that is sucked up into the roombaâs dustbin. The dirt and pet hair just collects in the chute and does not make it into the unitâs dustbin thereby signaling the roomba that itâs âfullâ within about 10 minutes of use. I wanted to love this roomba but overall itâs been a frustrating disappointment.Works great. Getting the WiFi set up on it was a little bit of a chore, but other than that this has been the best robot vac Iâve had. Itâs got some good suction and is mainly used on plank floors with area rugs. It does an decent job on carpet, but it is perfect for wood or stained concrete floors.

Honest Review
I originally purchased my Roomba e6 in November 2021. It’s 10/5/23 and it lasted this long. I will probably get another one. It malfunctioned because it is stuck on error 6, & the steps to fix the error didn’t work. According to Google, the average lifespan of a Roomba is up to 2 years. I am very satisfied with my purchase because it did its job well. I’m kind of sad also because I had sort of a ‘bond’ with my iRobot. I highly recommend as an affordable alternative to a new one.

Llegó en su empaque original, perfecta y totalmente empacado con sus protecciones, piezas nuevas, no le veo lo remanufacturado por ningún lado. Estoy encantada con mi compra, al primer dÃa de uso no imaginaba que sacarÃa tanta basura del depósito, principalmente pelos de mi gato que a simple vista no se notan sobre el piso (y eso que todos los dÃas trapeo la casa más de dos veces) y otras partÃculas que ni me habÃa puesto a revisar cuando limpio el piso. Se configura perfecto con la app del celular, muy sencilla de usar y programar. Es algo torpe porque si se mete debajo de una silla, se topa entre las patas y bien puede demorar ahà varios minutos dando vueltas hasta que logra salir, pero de ahà en más, que siga su curso. Es algo ruidosa, pero nada molesto, hasta es bueno estar en otra habitación y poder escuchar por dónde anda. TenÃa entendido que cuando se va a descargar la baterÃa, sola regresa a su base, pero no me ha tocado que lo haga, me la he encontrado a media habitación donde anduvo limpiando, ya descargada. Estoy fascinada con mi compra, no es tan maravillosa o inteligente como sus predecesores, pero me da el servicio que necesitaba, a un precio excelente.

Funciona solo para aspirar polvo, los pelos de mascota es trabajoso para limpiar por que se le enredar y el lector de basura lo lee como lleno. Pero funciona para llegar a lugares debajo de la cama y te deja el piso limpio.no pude conectar la app con iOS.
