Roomba Combo® 10 Max robot + AutoWash™ dock is our most powerful cleaning robot yet. It vacuums with 100% more suction power*, mops back-and-forth with downward pressure—and learns which rooms get dirty fastest and gives them the deep cleaning they deserve. With advanced smart navigation, it knows how to get around any home and clean each area in the optimal way. Even the dock is smart, automatic bin emptying, liquid refills, washing the mop pad, and pumping clean water through the dock to ensure it stays clean. When your cleaning robot is designed smarter, it makes your life easier. *Compared to Roomba Combo® i Series robots

I really wanted to like it
I’m returning the Combo 10. I’m returning it on day 29 because I really wanted to like it. In practice, it’s been a miserable experience beginning with the setup and continuing up to the point of me writing this review.- While my first roomba easily connected to wifi, this one took me an hour to get connected and up to date- The initial mapping takes quite a bit of time – that’s fine. The bigger issue is that when it made a mistake in the initial mapping, my only option was to tell it to start over, requiring another 2+ hours of the machine wandering around- All this would be fine if the machine cleaned well, but it just doesn’t. The machine failed between 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 runs (and frequently multiple times within a run). I consistently got erroneous cleanbase clogged error – it wasn’t. What I was able to determine was that the vacuum bag gets when when doing both mopping and vacuuming. The wet bag means there’s increased air resistance which the machine interprets as a clog- The lack of lidar meant that the robot required me to have all the lights on so it could correctly navigate. It also seemed to not really understand where there was mud tracked in- The robot itself required a lot of cleaning on its own. I have two cats and a dog that doesn’t shed. My wife and daughter both have long hair which was consistently a challenge for the machine- The mopping never worked well and the base leaked, though in fairness, that may have been that I kept being told by the app to turn it over to try to clear the clog. Incidentally, the app kept giving me the wrong support article, corresponding to the J9 not the 10 combo- On a whim, I decided to start experimenting with running the vacuum and mopping concurrently – that seemed to avoid the erroneous clog error, but it take a lot of extra time, particularly with the charge time that’s required. Much to my frustration, the robot started to complain that it wasn’t on a level surface and required it to be moved. It’s a perfectly level tile floor. It just doesn’t work well- The mop pad never gets dry (or clean for that matter) – as a result it started to get musty over time- The final straw for me was the fact that despite multiple outreaches, I never got any response from customer service other than the automated Zendesk ticket email. That’s not acceptable for any company, and certainly not for a $1399 deviceIn the end I did really want to like the device – my family was skeptical, given our previous experience (the old i-series ran over a cat accident and smeared it across our kitchen). The P.O.O.P. promise gave me some comfort, but given my experience over the last almost month, that seems naive.iRobot has clearly fallen behind the other manufactures – the Combo 10 feels like a rushed, half-baked product. It is clearly not in the same class as manufacturers like Dreame or Roborock (both of which have advanced lidar systems). Avoid and pick a different manufacturer.

Works Great
Rosie, our iRobot is great. It cleans well, although it is not perfect. We did have to map our house out a couple of times but after that it did well. The best part is it cleans under the furniture and gets all those dust bunnies that can not be reached easily with a regular vac. We used to have a dog that would clean all the crumbs off the floor and this is the next best thing.

Everyday Companion
We use the iRobot daily to clean throughout the apartment (approx 800-900 sq. feet) that is predominantly hardwood floor and inhabited by three cats. We would have to vacuum everyday manually and since moving to an only hardwood floor layout found the mopping feature to be desirable. The iRobot has cut down substantially on time as realistically we couldn’t vacuum every nook and cranny everyday as it was heavily time consuming so scheduling it to vacuum everyday at a certain time was a life changer. The mopping feature was great as well, but similar to the vacuuming, is not ideal for spots that require additional attention. What I like:+ Saves time if you require daily vacuuming with pets+ Mopping feature ensures hardwood floor feels clean+ Low maintenanceWhat I dislike:- Robot will somehow find a way to get stuck even with an open, empty floor plan with minimal objects on the ground so if you’re at work and come home you may find it didn’t do any cleaning as you must re-position it to reset it in order to start cleaning again. It has attempted to raise the mop under a door and because it couldn’t just assumed it was stuck instead of moving forward 2 inches and trying again.- The app has said I needed to replace the filter a week into ownership likely due to all the cat hair but there is no option to clear the debris and estimate how much life it truly has. It simply wants you to replace it and press reset on the app. I just cleared it and pressed reset for now but I would be extremely unhappy if I’d have to buy a filter once a week.- I ran the iRobot 3 times in the kitchen and noticed it wasn’t vacuuming one particular area. This is where having your own vacuum will be necessary.Verdict:Overall I am very happy with my purchase as someone who had to vacuum daily (realistically every 2-3 days depending on schedule). If you’re someone in the same position, I’d recommend it if you don’t have a lot of clutter on the ground as while it’s expensive it has saved a lot of time so I think the peace of mind was worth it. If you’re okay vacuuming with the aforementioned schedule and/or have a multitude of things on the floor, I’d stick with using a Dyson instead.

Bought it. Tried to love it as we loved so much our old iRobot vacuum. This is the worst of the worst. It is constantly stuck everywhere. It never learns. It vacuums it’s own water, creating mold inside of it and needs constant/daily care to be able to work. The lights needs to be on in your rooms for this to work. Yes, you read correctly, it cannot see in the dark.

It does not map out the floor very well – just does a small section. The cleaning is very weak.Battery life is maybe 20 minutes.Needs a lot of work.Bought three, one doesn’t work
