Replaced Battery in Oculus 2 – Red Light, Not Charging
Willing to change review, Got a replacement battery for Oculus Quest 2. I have replaced iphone and android batteries before so I have experience. Followed iFixit teardown and replaced battery no problem. Plugged it in to charge and the led was red indicating the batter is faulty or too low to charge. Even bought a replacement charge port to ensure that was not the issue, same red light. too low to charge or faulty battery.

Don’t do it yourself!
Battery was excellent but I lacked the dexterity to put it in and ruined it. Don’t try this yourself!

Very difficult repair
Repairing (replacing the battery) on the oculus is very difficult. One mistake and your oculus is toast. I would not recommend trying to replace it unless you have expert repair experience.

BATTERY RED LIGHT INFORMATION
I have a Meta Quest 2 and when my battery dies and I plug in the headset the led indicator light is red. It’s not flashing it’s a solid red led light and it charges fine.***PER META QUEST 2 WEBSITE***Headset is plugged in (charging)GREEN/SOLID/CHARGEDORANGE/SOLID/CHARGINGRED/SOLID/LOWNO LIGHT/NONE/BATTERY IS NOT CHARGINGBLUE-RED/BLINKING/FULLY DISCHARGED (DEAD BATTERY)Also, there is a fix if it is not charging even after being plugged in for a while. Hold the power button and let it power cycle itself about 10 times. Do not let go do the whole 10 times and it should fix it. Look it up if you want more info

Used parts!
It appears the plastic case and the metal cover were reused from an old unit. The battery looks clean and might be new, but how can I trust it? I would hate to get this all installed and have the battery not work! Itâs a tedious job to take this apart and replace the battery again.
