Strong Magnetic Cleaner
I’m no stranger to aquarium mag cleaners. I have small and large OG Mag-Floats that are about 20 years old, where the felt and scrub pads have worn out and peeled off. So I’ve been looking to replace those with some new ones. I know the magnets can be pretty strong on these things, and that I need to be careful, with keeping the cleaner head and magnetic base apart from each other. Fortunately, I’ve never had any accidents with them. So perhaps I got complacent?Anyway, be sure to remove any metallic items, especially knives from the top of your aquarium hood, when using this mag cleaner. I keep a utility knife and cutting board, on top of my big aquarium to chop up shrimp, to feed to my fish. The magnet on the base is so powerful, that it grabbed my knife, and nearly cut me. So I’m a little bit freaked out now. Will be getting a non-metallic ceramic knife, so that this doesn’t happen again. Regardless, this is a great mag cleaner for 1/2″+ glass aquariums.Pros:Very Strong Magnet.Floats. If the cleaning head gets detached from the mag base while underwater, it will float to the surface.Grip. The contoured surface on the base, allows a for a better grip.Cons:Difficult to pull apart. The packaging could use a thicker piece of foam to keep the Magnetic Base and Cleaner Head better separated.Overall, this is an upgrade over my old Mag-Float. Hyyger has a few newer models, with bigger handles also, so you may want to take a look at those also.

Didn’t seem to do all that much while I was using it to be truthful. The magnets are super strong on it and work as they should but the blade didn’t do a good job of cleaning away the buildup on my tank, felt like it took more of an effort that really needed.
