Extremely Satisfied with this Hoover Carpet Cleaner!
I looked at a number of carpet cleaner videos and read a lot of reviews and I must say it was difficult determining which carpet cleaner was the right one to purchase. We previously owned a 25+ year old Hoover carpet cleaner that we used quite a bit and even had lent it to other family members multiple times, so we already trusted the Hoover brand. When our cleaner recently started leaking, I figured it was time to get a new model. And wow – are we glad we purchased this one!This model was carefully thought out and designed and it’s made to be very user friendly. We found one of the most important things you can do to extend the service life of a carpet cleaner is to keep it clean after each use. Cleaning our old cleaner was quite the project. However, this new model makes cleaning the unit unbelievably easy – not to mention how great it is at cleaning the carpet. I can’t count how many times I’ve had to work on things around the house and muttered to myself that the designer must had never worked on their own product. This Hoover carpet cleaner is different and is made the way it should be – each part, from the suction tray in front, the cleaning solution container in the rear, to the drain tank and the easily detachable rotating brush rollers is a breeze to use and clean.Regarding the cleaning capabilities – the vacuum suction is fantastic and leaves the carpet almost dry. The five rotating brushes really deep clean the carpet. A testament to this unit’s cleaning ability – we had a vomit stain left from our Aussie on light gray carpet that we could never get rid of completely. Even after multiple cleanings over the course of six months with scrub brushes and various cleaners it a shadow of the stain was still visible. After making two passes with the Hoover main unit and then using the handheld rubber nub brush, the stain was gone! Stains were no match for this Hoover carpet cleaner. We used the Hoover pet cleaning solution believing the cleaning solution and carpet cleaner were designed with each other in mind.This carpet cleaner is the one to get if you are serious about getting your carpet clean and getting the tough stains out for good! Thank you, Hoover, for manufacturing and designing such a good cleaning and well-engineered carpet cleaner!

I love this machine. I am 75 but have no problem operating this machine. It is so much more efficient than my Bissell which broke . I was hesitant to buy online for this but sooo happy I did. Easy to fill, operate and clean! It picks up so much filth that I was astonished as I have been shampooing with my Bissell regularly until it died. I also just had my carpet professionally called a couple of months ago. When I used this machine, the filth it picked up astonished me! And it ducks up the water so much better! Heavy unit but easy to use! FeelsLike a good machine. I love it and highly recommend. I did not like the cleaning solution as too much suds.I ordered a low audio g cleaner and like it much better ! Very happy!

Very Good Carpet Cleaner For The Price
I bought this cleaner at a discount – somewhere around $170 – after deciding that when compared to renting machines for my two homes, the cost pencils out quickly. I used the cleaner within days of receiving it, and it performed very well on my dirty area rugs and three carpeted bedrooms in my primary residence. Other than spot-cleaning stubborn stains, I use no shampoo, only very hot distilled water for my rug cleaning. This unit handled my methodology very well, removing a lot of dirt and leaving my rugs nice and soft. It vacuums up most of the liquid it deposits, making the carpets dry fast. After the job, the tanks and brush heads are easy to remove, enabling a thorough cleaning of the unit. It seems reasonably well put together, and even if it lasts only 2-3 years I feel like I will be money ahead. I am confident that having it in the house will ensure I clean my carpets a lot more frequently.

The PowerScrub XL arrived a few days ago and I decided to try it out today. The setup was simple.I filled the solution tank with 50-50 solution/water and the water tank as instructed.I had a small, cheap carpet I was going to first test it out on. After about 30 seconds the solution tank was almost empty. I turned it off and checked the solution tank and the lid had unscrewed itself. The thing is, I had tightened the lid pretty tight. So I refilled the solution tank and screwed the lid on VERY tight this time and it stayed on.After finishing the test carpet I moved to the large, family room carpet. It worked fine, though I found maneuvering the machine difficult. The machine might be too heavy for me. I’m 72 and out of shape.I shampooed for an hour then took a break. I was sweating badly.One thing I noticed was the suction power seemed greater the more vertical the handle was. I found that walking next to the handle worked better than walking behind the handle. It wasn’t as difficult to push and the handle could be in a more upright position for better extraction.Another thing I noticed was that every time I turned the machine off the subsequent pass after turning the machine back on seemed to do nothing.I decided to take a break and emptied the dirty water tank. It was dirtier than I expected because I always take my shoes off when coming in from outside.Anyway, after the break I decided to rinse the carpet. Wow. There was a lot of soap still in the carpet. I was quite tired so I took many breaks while rinsing. Finally I finished and I was surprised that there was just as much dirt in the dirty water container as there was when shampooing. I suspect that another rinse might still be necessary, but I was exhausted, so I quit.Cleaning the unit was easy.Pros : Worked well once I knew what I was doing.Cons: If the cord was 5 feet longer I could have done the whole room from one outlet. This is not a deal maker, though. The unit was heavy and was a workout for this old, out of shape senior.What I would do if I had a second chance :I wanted this machine because of the large tanks. I wouldn’t have to change the water/solution very often. But it was too heavy and quite a workout. I would have purchased a lighter unit with smaller tanks. I would rather refill the tanks more often than having to deal with such a heavy unit as the Hoover. The Shark CarpetXpert EX201 got good reviews and is almost 10 pounds lighter when empty. With full water tanks the Shark would be even lighter. I’d probably buy the Shark if I could do it over again.

I decided to buy this machine and try to get my large area rug somewhat clean after our house renovations were completed and the carpet had been exposed to drywall dust, dirt and workmen’s boots and so forth. I am more than pleased with the outcome using this machine! The carpet looks new again with no musty/dusty smell. It’s fairly lightweight and easy to use. Emptying and refilling the water containers is easy peasy. I especially like all the attachments for furniture, stairs and even for the car. The ability to switch to rinse with water only, which removes leftover cleaner solution from the carpet is in my opinion a very nice option. One downside is it seems to use up the water rather quickly and I refilled it 4 times for the large area rug.

The multi directional brushes make the difference when cleaning short pile carpet.Counter intuitive. For better cleaning of carpet. More weight would help the cleaning. Just go slow and it gets out most dirt.

La primera vez que la usé le sacó lodo a la alfombra, a pesar de que usamos una buena aspiradora, la diferencia con esta lavadora es notable en las fibras de la alfombra. En la foto se puede ver la comparación, al lado derecho sólo le di una pasada. Es un poco pesada por la cantidad de agua que maneja, pero su funcionamiento es muy sencillo, el peso no hace difÃcil su manejo gracias a las buenas llantas y tiene un alto poder de succión. Es muy buena también para la limpieza de muebles gracias a los aditamentos. La usamos para lavar toda la alfombra del segundo piso y la de la sala, está última blanca, quedó muy bonita, también lavamos todos los sillones. La recomendamos ampliamente.

I was very excited to use my machine. It came with what looks like a USA plug and no adapter.I read the instructions, used my own adapter, measured and filled the machine, turned it on and instantly heard a bang, with the smell of burning and then machine turned off…I felt it was going to create an electrical fire, especially how there is water inside the machine and something has exploded in there.Not a nice experience.
