Name brand functionality on a budget
I initially bought one of these robot vacuums about six months ago, and I’ve been extremely happy with it. The app has a couple small quirks, but it’s very functional. The vacuum has good cleaning efficacy, very respectable battery life, and it’s very good about not getting stuck. It’s great about entirely covering a room. You can buy the bags for the self-emptying feature for pretty cheap (I think I paid about $2.50 a piece), and they last a long, long time. I used my first bag for 4-5 months running the vacuum every couple of days in about a 2,000 square foot area, and I have a short-haired dog that does shed a fair amount.Initially, I was seriously considering buying a brand name vacuum (I think it’s Roomba) that has a sonic mop capability, but I just didn’t want to pay $700 for this capability. Mopping was important to me, but I really expected it to be quite poor. This part really exceeded my expectations! It requires a quick setting change, but there is a “Y-shaped” pattern you can tell the vacuum to use that effectively “scrubs” the floor very well. Generally, I will have the vacuum vacuum a room first. Then, I will prepare the mop and tell it to mop without vacuuming (to conserve battery power), and configure it to use the Y-shaped pattern and to do the room twice. This is nearly as effective as mopping the room manually which is exactly the outcome I want!A couple areas they could improve – First, sometimes, but not often, the vacuum will get disoriented thinking it’s somewhere that it’s not, and then the map will get screwed up. When this happens, I have to reset the map and run it again from scratch which is kind of annoying. Another thing is that the vacuum used to automatically go into the Y-shape pattern when the mop was installed, but now that has to be selected manually. I didn’t appreciate that change, but it’s obviously very minor.Since buying my first vacuum, I have subsequently bought 6 more of these devices as gifts for family and to clean my church. There are three at my church, and one of them covers many thousands of square feet without a problem. It may take a couple days of vacuuming, docking, emptying, recharging, and then repeating, but at the click of a button it will ultimately clean an enormous area.I almost never leave reviews, but these things are such a great buy for the money. You won’t be disappointed.

Not for households with pets.
I decided to upgrade from a roborock regular vacuum to this one for the mopping feature, and the reviews plus the prime day deal really made me think this would be a great purchase⦠it is not.The first picture shows how I had to take it apart to manually remove the debris, which makes it sound good because wow, look at how much it picked up – we have cleaners come every other week, so the amount of hair, dirt, etc it picked up IS impressive. However, the base failed to suck that up into the bag 3x, and each time it said the bag might be full (itâs empty), hence why I had to remove it manually. To me, thatâs a design flaw; it shouldnât have issues evacuating the vacuum into the base. The second photo shows the mop item, which also has a good bit of hair and dirt on it. I watched it clean and not once did it appear to mop, occasionally there would be a wet streak but as you can see in the third photo, it didnât even mop up the dried yoghurt (post accidental drop and dog âclean upâ). That third photo also shows the dirt/debris it did NOT pick up. Back to the mop item, this is also a poor design. If itâs on all the time (it was on when I received it in the mail), and itâs positioned as it is, itâs going to collect debris while vacuuming and then smear that all over the floor when it does mop. It has no way to clean it either. Also, you can only put in a TINY bit of water for the mopping feature, and considering it spent over an hour âcleaningâ roughly 800 sqft (I close of the kidsâ rooms so it doesnât go in there), I highly doubt it has enough cold water to mop – aka smear dirty cold water around. And thereâs no way to tell it to just vacuum or just mop.Itâs difficult to understand the voice, and the alerts sent to my phone often arenât very helpful or informative.Lastly, one of the spinning brush things disappeared after 1 use⦠I have scoured my house with a flashlight, moving things, etc⦠they have you snap the two spinning brush things in, which is easy, but apparently they donât stay on well.Overall, this was a total fail of a purchase for me. I canât for the life of me understand how it has so many good reviews.

Good but has issues
Cleans well and mapping is excellent. However it has difficulty emptying dust bin into collection bag. It seems the system cannot pull dog hair from the bin. This causes a frequent âdust channel is blockedâ error. Also, auto docking only occurs about half the time. This requires manually placing the robot in the charging station.

Amazing Robot Vacuum!
This is my third Robot Vacuum by Horniture and this one is incredible. As soon as the vacuum starts, it starts mapping out the floor with the LiDAR Navigation located on top of the Robot Vacuum. It was smart enough to differentiate between the different rooms, which allows your to choose which room you want to clean within the app.Although this model did not come with a remote, you can still manually control the robot vacuum from within the appâs settings (picture attached). The app also lets you change the way the vacuum cleans (see pic).As soon as the vacuum needs to recharge, it will make its way back to the home charging station, where it will then empty out the trash it picked up into the charging station. The settings for the trash collection can be found within the app under âdust collectionâ and can be changed to empty the contents from each use to every fourth use. The dust collection is a bit loud (video attached), but it doesnât bother me.I will definitely be purchasing another model with the self cleaning feature for the other levels of my house.
