This product claims a 12:1 shred ratio. See my comparison photos. The vast majority of the leaves went through the impeller unscathed. To top it off, the seller refuses to take a return because I put gas in it to use it. Talk about a catch 22! Amazon and this company are not standing behind their sales. The nuance of the return policy was definitely not clear when they were selling the product.

I’ve been on the fence about this for a while, pulled the trigger and I’m so glad I did. We used it on five yards today and it truly helps out. It’s a fantastic “finishing” tool and is great for tight corners, rock features, semi-enclosed spaces. This has a permanent place on our trucks.

My husband loves it! I thought it would be easier than raking since we are getting older.

I bought the Echo ES-250 25.4cc Shred N Vac machine because, from the reviews that I read, it appeared to be a uniquely good unit for vacuuming and shredding leaves. This is what I wanted to deal with my big yard that has many trees that shed leaves from Spring through Fall. I made the right choice. The Echo ES-250 is a powerful gas unit with great suction. It starts easily and it is not overly heavy. I used the unit in two ways: First, I used the blower to create piles of leaves that I then vacuumed and bagged. Second, I used the Shred N Vac to suck up stray leaves all over the property. The Echo ES-250 was impressively fast and effective in sucking up leaves and shredding leaves (and even small sticks). I had never used a gas unit before, but I found the Echo ES-250 very user friendly. And I used a pre-mixed gas/oil mixture which makes things very easy. No headaches with electric cords. No problems with battery life. And no issues with a lack of power — the gas unit is powerful in its suction capacity. The only minor quibble that I have with the unit is the connection between the debris bag and the vacuum tube. The Velcro strap that tightens the bag onto the vacuum tube is not ideal (although I had no serious problems with it). Also, the shoulder strap on the debris bag is not great. Overall, however, the vacuum/shredding function of the Echo ES-250 easily earns 5 stars

If you live in town and cannot burn, this would be great!! We live in the country and are still allowed to burn so it is just as easy and probably quicker to rake leaves onto a tarp and haul to the burn pile.I am a 5’4″ women and it was a little cumbersome for me to operate

We have prolific leaf drop in our area during a full fall season. Much of our landscape is in cypress mulch beds with limited grassy areas. The only way to conduct leaf removal successfully is with the use of our Echo 250 Shred N Vac. It takes a little technique development to competently suck up the leaves with minimal mulch removal, but it can be done. An occasional piece will stall progress; but, removal of the offending piece of mulch can be effectively accomplished through removal of the intake chute (more often) or discharge elbow (less often). See Directions. BTW – bought one for each of 3 adult daughters who use them more as a blower.

I bought my first Echo 6-7 years ago and found it to be the most effective leaf vacuum of the five different ones I have owned. I recently used it to clean up accumulated bird seed hulls and residue under a feeder after a long winter and a wet spring and wad frustrated at a loss of suction. I found what amounted to a concrete like cast that formed around the blades. After removing the impaction and cleaning the blower housing it was back to normal, but I noted significant wear of the fins of the blower, so I bought a new one to replace the old one. The echo starts reliably after one or two pulls, only stops when it is out of fuel, has an easy to empty bag, and picks up debris includind small sticks, while leaving rocks behind. An excellent machine.
