Dyson Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Ball Multi Floor 2, Yellow

Perfect and superbly designed multi-function yet compact upright for a busy home with different floor types (and it’s pretty)!
I have been considering purchasing a Dyson for a while and I finally made this purchase. I see why this company has the reputation it does for simple yet powerful and intuitive design! I am already spoiled by this machine! While it would be helpful to have a bit more instruction on assembling the hose attachments, I found assembly otherwise to be easy and intuitive with a few tries on some aspects. I love that everything I need is attached to the machine so I don’t have to go back-and-forth for parts when cleaning different areas. I love that the hose collapses into itself when attached to take up less space, and I love not having to touch the dirt to remove it. The suction is tremendous! Watch out for your smaller rugs because it will latch onto them! But, it does SUCH a great job of what it is designed to do – beautifully and powerfullly clean floors – both hardwood and carpet – leaving them much cleaner than any other brand I have tried. It is also extremely agile with the ball design – much less lifting to move it within areas. And, bonus – it’s a pretty product and color – the sunshiny looks make vacuuming a little more fun. I am impressed that the customer service number is clearly on the machine. I have not had to use it as my machine is new but my expectations are high that when I do. It will be easy to figure out how to contact the company and I can say that the instructions really encourage that. Customer service means a lot. Highly recommend this product.

I’m torn on this vacuum.
First off, the assembly was surprisingly easy. You don’t need any tools. You’ll probably have to YouTube some videos to help you out like I did, but it really is quite simple. You just click a few things in and you’re ready to go. No weird settings to adjust or anything like that (not sure if that’s a pro or a con though…). Overall, the build quality is highly disappointing. It creaks and just doesn’t feel sturdy at all. I was really expecting something better. The plastic parts just don’t feel sturdy, I don’t really know how else to explain it. When you think Dyson, you think the Cadillac of vacuums. Well this feels more like a Kia. I mean I guess it’s hard plastic? I understand they did this to keep the vacuum lightweight, but it just doesn’t feel sturdy and that is what bothers me. Anyway, the only adjustment you can really make with the vacuum is a button to turn the bristles on and off. I’m underwhelmed to say the least. I expected some neat fancy features with the vacuum. I mean it doesn’t even have cool lights on the front of it… Seriously? For $300 I expected to be able to fly to the moon and back. Literally. But no, it’s just any regular old vacuum that you flip a switch to and it sucks stuff up. The cord isn’t even retractable, and the plastic thing you wrap it around feels super flimsy. I question whether they did that intentionally, but I’m not sure why they would.But the part you’ve all been waiting for. Does it vacuum well? In my short testing time, it definitely does. The bristles work magic on the carpet let me tell you. It takes your flat, squished down carpet and fluffs it back up. To be fair, most new mid-to-high end vacuums will do this. But it seems like this one does it even better. I’m not about to go throw dirt on my carpet and see how well it cleans it up, and my carpet is already pretty clean, but so far I love the way it actually vacuums. I suppose that is the redeeming quality of this.So if you’re looking for a vacuum that vacuums well, this definitely does. I just can’t help but feel like I wasted my money though. My old $79 Bissell pretty much did everything this does (aside from auto adjusting to the floor, which I’m not that impressed by). I only bought a new one because my old one started to get uncomfortably hot when in use. I had that one for a few years, it was just time for another one, and I felt like splurging. It was between this one and that newer Shark DuoClean vacuum. I somewhat regret not buying the Shark. I’m sure that one vacuums well, and if nothing else, at least I would have gotten cool looking LED lights on the front of it. Plus it’s slighty cheaper, and has a longer warranty than this Dyson…. Oh well. I’m still satisfied with my purchase. It does what it’s supposed to do well. I just don’t think these are worth the splurge. Save your money and buy a highly rated vacuum that is 1/3rd of the price of this one. It’ll likely do you just fine.I would have given this vacuum less stars, but because I had no legitimate issues, and it after all is just a vacuum, I think 4 is reasonable. If I have any quality issues in the future I will definitely be updating this review.

Nothing it smells really bad air fresh smells like grap when in bin

my second dyson and will never buy any other vacuum. It picks up everything and is easy to use everywhere. Is a bit heavy but worth the good job it does.
