My first Dreame product is leaps and bounds ahead of the Roomba combo it replaced.
I recently got the Dreame X40 Master, and it’s been a game-changer for my compact apartment. I switched over from using the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Braava Jet M6, and I have to say, this little machine outshines them both. The floor cleaning, especially the mopping, is on another level—closer to edges, around furniture legs, and just overall more thorough. Plus, it’s super quiet. I can have it running while I sleep, and it doesn’t wake me up—a huge bonus compared to the noisy Roomba. One feature I love is that it cleans just as well in the dark, thanks to its built-in light. Maybe other robots have this, but it feels like a luxury for me. I almost went for the Dreame X40 Ultra, but when I saw that the X40 Master connects directly to the water supply and drainage, I knew it was perfect for my space. No more dealing with dirty water tanks or bad smells, which is a huge relief.Another big plus: the dust bag is larger, so I don’t have to replace it as often. Maintenance is easy too—the sliding shelf design makes everything super accessible. And speaking of design, the brush and mop are on swinging arms that actually clean all the way to the edge. It’s the little details like this that make a big difference. The lidar mapping is also impressive. It mapped my place so quickly, and it’s night-and-day better than the camera-based system on my old robot. I like how it can tell which rooms are dirtier and goes back for a second pass—smart and efficient. The mop pad washing and drying features work great and keep everything smelling fresh. My only minor gripe is that I wish the cleaning solution came in a larger size or maybe as a powder I could mix myself. Not a big deal, though.Overall, the Dreame X40 Master has exceeded my expectations. If you have hard floors (I can’t speak for rugs), this robot is a must-have. I’m really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, efficient, and feature-packed cleaning robot.

This thing is better than I would have ever dreamed I have not used a mop or broom one time since it arrived 4 cats and a dog there is less hair now then I have ever seen if you have fur kids this is a game changer 100% works amazing setup was simple and the installation of the clean station was simple and clear once it was plugged in it did the rest on its own. I will forever have one of these from here on out.

This is now my 4th Dreame robot vacuum and each one keeps improving. I have tried numerous brands of robovacs and found Dreame to be the best as far as intelligence and cleaning power and the X40 Master is no exception to that. I also find that help support is very responsive and good to get you going or fix issues that come up. They are also very good at taking suggestions and making improvements to current and new models. I find the X40 to be particularly quiet compared to my previous models. The extra suction power is great and is accomplished by having the filter in the vacuum not covered by a screen. While this really improves the cleaning of your carpets, it does mean that I tend to regularly take out the filter and use a cordless blower to blow out the trapped dust to keep the suction high. This and very infrequently adding more detergent are the only maintenance that is required as both the fresh water and wastewater are tapped into your existing water and sewer supply so that you do not need to fill or empty any water containers. This model can be installed along a wall or hidden inside a cabinet, cupboard or closet with a cut out to allow the robot to come and go.Some of the highlights of this model are its ability to climb over large transitions in your floor area from one room to another. I appreciate this as there is a good-sized rise and drop going from our living area to the sunroom, that other vacuums just cannot get over. As well, it vacuums very well, and the mop cleans great due to the heating aspect of the mop pads and water to get tough grime off the floors. There are numerous built in object identifiers, and it tells me if I left my shoes somewhere or a power cord on the floor along with many other items and avoids them instead of getting tangled up with them. Obstacle avoidance on this model is best in class and even better than my L40, which I thought was great already. The app has many features to customize the cleaning schedule and room cleaning orders. You do not need to do these, but it is there if you want to. If you have not experienced a vacuum with extending mop pads and brush, then you will be very happy with how well this one gets into corners and along walls to get everything clean. The lidar system is top notch as well and with a live camera, you can view your home anytime you want to check in on things or see if there is something you left behind. The only things I see missing or lacking from this model is a retractable lidar to allow the robot to get under lower areas of furniture, it does not come standard with the tricut brush (although you can buy one and put it in), and having a UV light for cleaning (which no models that I am aware of have). These are more of a wish list and not necessarily cons for this model.Overall, the X40 Master is a solid 5/5 and with my critical wishes I give it a 4.5. Even if you already have a smart vacuum already, you will be impressed with this one.

This review is for the dreame X40 Master Robot Vacuum Cleaner:https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0DCFWL2XJOverall / TL:DR review below:Amazing Vacuum, pretty much perfect. Non-existent maintenance with the plumbing lines just have to empty the dust bag every 2-3 months (depending on how dirty/how many pets you have). Key features as noted below are the extendable side brush and mop pad, and the mops can be dropped/cleaned automatically.** – key featuresPro’s:- It cleans amazingly, first run ever I had kids’ debris (food, play dough, sand), bits of drywall from a reno, and general dust/hair, 2 cats hair – all gone- The double mop on this thing is legit. cleans really well, had a spill from the kids and it even identified it as a ‘big spill’ and mopped it like 3 times till it was clean (this was also on its first run ever)- Unlike the Ultra which has very large water tank for clean and dirty water, this thing has plumbing lines you hook up directly to your water and sewer lines. This reduces the profile of the base unit allowing you to install into a cabinet, or just take up less space on the floor. It also most obviously means you never have to fill up the water, or empty the dirty water. Such a game changer, they’re getting really close to fully autonomous robot cleaning here.** – The mops are automatically detachable. This is great for setting the mode to ‘clean carpets first’ as it will drop the mops, go do a deep clean on carpets, and then go back and pick up the mops when its ready to do tile/hardwood. Also to note, the vacuum will automatically ‘rise up’ the mops when its passing carpet so while it can go drop them off, it doesn’t necessarily have to. I find the drop off better as I have a few carpets that are thick and it seems like its better to just have them out of the way** – It has both an extendable side brush and side mop so as it traverses corners or has some type of overhang that it can’t fit under, it automatically extends both to clean where it cannot physically get too. This really is game-changing for inside corners as I found my previous vacuum would just scoot dirt/debris off to the corner and then I would have to go sweep it up (sigh, what a chore! /s)- The vacuum is completely self-sufficient. The mops will clean themselves. it auto-empties the dustbin. there is a clean water tank, dirty water tank, detergent, and dust bag- The mapping is very impressive. it automatically assigns rooms based on what they are used for. I didn’t have to label anything. not sure how it does this, image recognition from the camera maybe?- It is impressively powerful but at the same time not very loud. My previous robot was very loud, especially on carpets. This one doesn’t seem anywhere near as loud and still cleans as well if not better. The auto-empty on this also doesn’t sound like a jet engine firing up, whereas my last one I could hear it in the garage with the door closed.- Child lock feature – lol… kids pressing the damn buttons all the time? hah, not anymore. Get away from vacuum darn kids!Con’s:- $2500+ for a robot vacuum is really asking a lot when you can probably get a maid/cleaner for that to deep clean the whole house a few times a year. That being said, if you use the vacuum 3-5 times a week like i do for passive cleaning to keep the house looking fresh – it will do that amazingly well all while you sleep. Plus, the maintenance on this unit is basically nothing with the water lines.

I recently upgraded my cleaning game with the Dreame X40 Master Robot Vacuum Cleaner, and I have to say, I’m impressed. After using the Dreametech L10 Ultra for a while, I wanted a model that would fit my needs a bit better — especially with its ability to tackle both vacuuming and mopping efficiently in my home. I opted for the X40 after reading positive reviews, and it definitely hasn’t disappointed.Setting up the X40 was super easy. The instructions were clear, and I was able to quickly get it connected to my phone and Wi-Fi. The app walked me through everything step-by-step, and even though I had a few worries about setup, everything went smoothly. After charging it up, the robot immediately started mapping my house. It didn’t take long at all, just 10 minutes or so, and I was surprised to see it handle the transition from my hardwood floors to the bathroom tiles without any issue — no hesitation at all, even over a slight step-up.What really stands out is the vacuuming power. The 12,000Pa suction really works, and I noticed a big difference in the results compared to my old vacuum. The X40 picked up dust, debris, and crumbs easily, especially after I switched to a higher suction setting. I initially ran it on the standard setting, and while it cleaned well, it wasn’t quite as thorough as I expected. When I moved it to turbo mode, it was a game changer. The navigation around furniture was precise, and the robot did an excellent job avoiding obstacles. I love that it can clean so efficiently in tight spaces, which is important for me since my house is relatively small. The mopping function is another bonus. After each room, the robot went back to its dock to clean its mop, which saved me a ton of time. It’s also great to see that the X40 cleans its pads without me having to do anything. I opted for a deep clean the next day with extra water and the “custom clean” mode, and wow, it worked even better. The robot really covered the floors in an organized, back-and-forth pattern rather than the random route it took on the first pass, which I noticed was much more effective. The battery life is solid too. After cleaning my whole house, I still had 40% of the battery left, which is impressive given that my home is about 800sq. feet. And the auto-refill and drain feature for the mop is incredibly convenient. I didn’t have to worry about constantly refilling the mop water or dealing with a messy mop cloth — it did all that itself. One thing to note is that the robot doesn’t always avoid small obstructions, like stray socks or small toys under the furniture, but that’s easily manageable by pausing the vacuum and clearing the space. I also did a check under my bed before I started the second clean to avoid any interruptions.I’m definitely happy with the Dreame X40 Master Robot Vacuum Cleaner. It’s fast, efficient, and does a great job with both vacuuming and mopping. The app is super easy to use, and I love that I can control it with my voice using Alexa. It’s been a huge time-saver and does a great job keeping my home clean without much effort from me. If you’re looking for a vacuum that also mops, and you want something that’s easy to set up and manage, I highly recommend giving the Dreame X40 a try. It’s made my life easier and kept my house spotless.

It wasn’t obvious to me from looking at the ad or other reviews, but in order to use this unit you need- water source that provides specific pressure (014 to 08 MPa) with compatible connectors- drain with compatible connectors- power outlet (well that is obvious)- custom cabinet. Optional, but if you want this to be out of the way and hide the unsightly water and drain hoses you’ll need a cabinet. And I don’t think you’ll find anything off the shelf with these specific dimensionsThere isn’t a way to use the mop function without it. For example you can’t just manually add and drain the water yourself if that’s what you are thinking (I was). The base station isn’t designed with these reservoirs and that’s the reason it is so compact. In theory you could just use this like a vacuum cleaner and forgo the mop function, but there are much better models out there to do just that and a lot cheaper. If you want a Dreame vacu-mop, but not the water hook-ups you should be looking at the X40 Ultra model.Pros- Security. You can remotely control the vacuum to snoop around your house when you are away using the built in camera. You can just select the location for it to go on a map, or full manual control. Very Cool.- Generates a room map. It even labeled most of the rooms correctly (washroom, hallway, living room, etc.). Very clever.- Good collision directions- Made it over a thick rug, carpet, tile and the the transitions between them.- It really sucks (but in a good way)- Works with Alexa. Use the Dreamehome skill NOT the Dreame skill (Ugh, that was the first one that came up for me).Cons- Requires disposable bags. I thought all the new vacuums were bagless. Looks like you can get replacements for between $2-$3 but it’s inconvenient.- Robot sometimes gets stuck trying to get back into the base station on the carpet. I was a bit surprised since it managed to get over all sorts of obstacles on its cleaning run (over rugs, transitions, etc.). I think because it backs in and but it is optimized to go forward. And when it gets stuck it keeps on spinning. I need to give it a nudge. Not so helpful if it is on a schedule and I’m not around.- expensive; but if you are playing for a custom cabinets and retro fitting your house with plumbing to accommodate it the cost of the unit will be insignificant- You can sign into the Dreamehome phone App using a 3rd party account (ex. google), but you can’t setup the the Alexa Dreamehome skill this way. You’ll need to go back and set up a Dream password. Ugh.

I’ve been a robot vacuum fanatic for the last ten years, and was heavily invested in another brand until recently. I’ve had vacuum-only, mop-only and combinations, but this is honestly the most advanced robot I’ve had yet.Firstly, the packaging is insane – you should plan to install this on the day before you put your cardboard out because you will have mountains of it. The good news is that the amount of cardboard used ensures there’s no damage on arrival. The hardest part for me was installation. The supplied 3/8” diverter valve wasn’t compatible with the 3/4” supply hoses in my laundry room. The diverter also leaked from one end, which was disappointing, and I went through several ideas before I simply installed this on its own line and rebuilt the diverter so that it was just an “end” piece. Set-up was pretty straightforward from there. The diverter being faulty and incompatible with my hoses was a bit underwhelming at this price point – I would have preferred to have a few more options and parts included like I’ve seen with other brands. You have to determine which parts you need for your particular install and plan ahead.Depending on your planned installation point, the parts you need are readily available at most hardware stores – look for dishwasher connection kits and you’ll have the best luck finding what you need there. I already have a jam-packed area under my sink, so kitchen installation wasn’t an option. There is a generous amount of tubing, connectors and quick-connect rings to keep the tubing in place. A cover is also included to keep cords tidy. I appreciated the extra filter, cleaning brush, and detergent.Assembling the robot was quick and easy – the mop pads are magnetic. The app is fairly straightforward and worked fine for me – it runs the initial tests for you and you can then send it on a mapping run. It’s absolutely amazing watching this robot map rooms and not crash into everything along the way. It even identifies objects on the map.The cleaning is excellent – the mop arm and sweeper brush that swing out means that this vacuum misses very little. I love that it lifts up the mop pads when going over carpets. It did leave some small blobs of water on the floor during the first run, but after adjusting the amount of water in the app, this issue resolved itself. While the install itself was a pain and it took me the better part of the weekend and a lot of troubleshooting to figure it out, I love that I’m not constantly checking water levels or emptying dustbins after each use – this robot does it all by itself.I’m honestly amazed at the improvements in technology, and I love how quiet this vacuum is – it’s got to be one of the quietest machines I’ve ever had. It’s really nice to be able to send it out once per day and not have to worry about maintenance on a daily basis, and I love that it’s smart enough not to smash into everything.Overall, if you’ve got the space and a plan for installation, this is a great option that’s minimal in terms of maintenance once installed. I’ve had it running daily for about a week now and haven’t encountered any issues beyond those noted with the diverter valve. The manuals are pretty minimal as far as installation goes, and I could only find a few videos online showing how to do it – that said, I’ve got fairly basic plumbing skills and was still able to figure it out on my own.I’d definitely recommend this robot if you’re ready to invest in the latest technology and have a space that will accommodate a direct hookup to water.
