This well-crafted machine does it all. Most connections are of a push button catch and release. A press of the button via hand or foot opens the catch. There was a small learning curve as your body position is important in order to access certain features. Changing tools is easy. Every tool that came with the machine stores on the machine. You may want to keep the catch open with a thumb press versus forcing the catch to snap in place. Dirt bin is well sealed, easy to empty and easily snaps back in place. A clever design provides 2 feet of extended reach for the hose. Floor brush works well on flat surface and low height carpets. Thicker carpets may require multiple passes. The machine itself fully loaded w tools is very light weight. The motor and vacuum strength are just right imo. More power would make this a heavier machine.

Strong suction
Just got this vacuum. Works wonderful. Has strong suction to pick up dirty and whatever else you got. I love my Dirt Devil! Not a heavy vacuum cleaner either. Really easy to use. Has a good long cord for maneuvering.

Great purchase!
Finally, this is my perfect vacuum! It’s so affordable, I’ve had some pricy ones that do not come close to this! Pretty lightweight, all attachments are snapped on and easy to access. Also picks up dog hair, easy to open canister to clean.

Good vacuum this far
I had a previous Dirt Devil vaccum which worked well and lasted. My prior vaccum was a Bissel which was heavy, the pedal to recline vaccum for cleaning position broke off. No more Bissel. This Dirt Devil is fairly light, good suction, good cord length, also was a good price. I have 4 medium size throw rugs, and 1 large one. I empty the dirt cup by placing a plastic bag quickly over the opening once opened, otherwise youâll have dust/dirt on your floor. I do this outside and wipe the interior out with a damp cloth.

Buy this vacuum!
First time owner of a Dirt Devil upright vacuum. Have previously owned Hoover, Bissell, Eureka, etc…. This out performs the others. Has all the necessary features such as carpet height adjustment, auto cord rewind, foot power switch, cord clip, lighter weight, quieter and most importantly great suction power. And all for under $100. I’m sold on this Dirt Devil vacuum. Don’t waste your time looking at other brands. You won’t be disappointed.

5 stars all things considered
For the price, this vacuum is terrific. The suction power is STRONG. I love that you can detach the hose and wand and use the attachments to get cobwebs on the ceiling etc. I like the size of the dirt cup as well.Downsides:- The wand is short. I went onto the Dirt Devil website to order an extension wand; it was a mere$10 plus $10 in shipping (and several days’ wait). Without the extension wand, you have to bend way over to use the attachments (I have textured rugs and use the wand tool on them) or are limited as to how high you can reach. Why not offer the wand as an add-on with the cord rewind version of the machine?- Mine does not easily lock into the upright position. It seems like the mechanism is defective.- Attachments fall off of the holders constantly.But, again, for the price, I find it an effective, lightweight, versatile vacuum. I find it terrific for the price.

Solved (for now) the dirt cup emptying problem
Great suction that made me embarrassed about the debris left behind by my old vacuum. GOOD GRIEF!However, there are problems: 1) the dirt cup is difficult to reattach once emptied, and 2) the attachment of the handle to the body of this unit is awkward. It turns out the two issues are related. To successfully reattach the dirt cup, you can remove the two screws that secure the handle to the body, then snap the dirt cup in place, then reattach the two screws. I guess I hadnât attached the handle correctly in the first place. In fact, I wrecked the first of this model I bought by trying to force replacement of the dirt cup, but I loved the vacuum so much I ordered a second.Thereâs a YT video that explain why I experienced Problem #2, but Amazon wonât let me share the URL.
