One of the best 4 gal wet vacs
Iâve had the dewalt 4 gal wet vac for about 6 months now and im more then happy with it. It has more suction power then bigger vacuums and its more compact. It cleans up everything i point the nozzle at. Im in construction so i clean up just about everything u can think of. It works great as long as u keep the filter clean. The way the attachments fit onto the vac is a plus, the cord is more then long enough. Only con for me is that it didnât have wheels so i just added some to mine.

Best Small Shop Vac
I had a Stanley mini shop vac which I got from Costco. It was very loud, tipped over all the time, rolled away, clogged a lot and had no suction.This shop vac is amazing! No wheels for it to roll away, it is quite, has great suction and the best of all – all its parts can be contained within itself. No hoses hanging everywhere and those accessories to lose. Once you are done using it, everything has a place and packs neatly away.

Itâs lightweight yet powerful enough to be used all over the house and outside the house as well. Great for keeping the cars, patio, garage, workshop, kitchen to the bedrooms clean and free of dust. Comes with a pretty great filter and dust bag. The attachment all fit perfectly with the only exception being the two extensions on the side. Those fall out pretty easily when bumped. The hose could stand to be a little less rigid but itâs durable af so itâs acceptable. Easy to empty. Small enough to tuck away out of the way when youâre done. I love this thing and Iâm glad I got it. Great product for a great price.

Dewalt vacuum
Nice little vacuum, lightweight, easy to move from room to, and very powerful; this little guy has great suction. Has an easy to get to compartment for accessories and nice clamps on the side to hold extender tubes.

Suprisingly Well Built, Good Engineering in the Design
Mine does a great job of sucking the ashes and soot out of my pellet smoker. I’m pretty impressed!PRO– LONG, relatively flexible power cord. Neither the wire nor the insulation seem stiff. More like true rubber and copper, old style vacuum cord.- Good hidden storage for the two tool attachments. The tools don’t stick out to snag things.- Great, flexible, large diameter suction hose. It’s like a slinky with a covering. Pull it a long distance from the vacuum without pulling the machine along with it.- Surprisingly great hose storage cubby. The entire hose is “swallowed” by the overall box shape of the vacuum unit. Nothing sticks out.- Main body of the vacuum, the plastic box, seems very stout. Much thicker than a 5 gal bucket. Good mating, seal, and latches between the upper and lower halves, where the filter and sucked up junk lives.- Sucks the chrome off a trailer hitch, as they’d say in the south. It’s got tons of power. You can blow leaves with it in reverse.CONS– (No longer a con, see below) Wand storage brackets add maybe 4 inches to the width of the unit. If you don’t use the wands, it would be great to be able to remove the brackets and make the overall footprint smaller. Perhaps that’s possible and I haven’t found the fastening scheme yet.EDIT – I have found the fastening scheme for the wand hooks. Very simple. Just separate the two halves of the vacuum, like you’re checking the filter, and look into the area where the hooks live. It’s real obvious. Stick a flat blade screwdriver in there and pry the little tab and remove the brackets. Reinstall any time, they just click into place.- Cord storage hooks are on the short side of the unit, very close together, and nearly flush with the bottom of the vacuum. You can’t wrap the cord while the vacuum sits on the floor. To wrap the cord requires either picking up the vacuum in one hand and wrapping cord with the other, or placing the vacuum on the edge of a bench, with the cord wrap area hanging off the edge. I’d like to see the cord wrap hooks higher and farther apart (less wraps to secure the cord). Perhaps mounted on the long side of the vacuum instead of the short end. Perhaps even interchangeable with the wand mount brackets.The pros far outweigh the cons for my application. I’m happy with mine.

Good replacement for large vac
I have an older craftsman 16gal vac. It works well but storage is an issue. This vac has great suction but can fit on a shelf in the garage.I tried to marry this with an Oneida dust deputy(DD) low profile dust system. The hose from the vac was too small for the DD connection. I looked for all kinds of adapters but couldn’t find one to work. I finally just switched the hoses and it worked. The suction connection on the vac is 2 1/4 but other end is 1 7/8. By switching the two hoses, it all worked.The only drawback is the hose is too short and inflexible, especially if using with sanders and routers. I’ll have to check out some longer hoses.

Good Compact Vac
Got this to replace an old (huge) Craftsman 16 gallon Shop-Vac. Wanted a smaller vac as I mostly use it for vacuuming our car interiors. DeWalt vac works well for this purpose, but I did buy another hose just like the one that came with the vac, to have a little more reach . These hoses are VERY flexible (which is good, IMO), but that also means that the hoses contract quite a bit under vacuum, somewhat limiting your reach. I just push the one end of hose 1, into hose 2. Stays connected pretty well, but you could also add a couple of wraps of tape on the connection to keep it more secure. Vac has good suction and takes up a LOT LESS space than the old Craftsman vac did. So far, it’s great.

Great portable vac – hard to find at big box stores.
Small vac with plenty of suction and decent filtration system. Ordered off brand HEPA filter used in conjunction with dust bags. Used in tight quarters where Festool vac was not an option. Bags are very small – does not appear to have high quality after market bags available. Hose is decent quality but it is unique. It will extend to approx 6′ but will draw down to 1′. Can be ok for some use, and frustrating for other tasks. Fine as is for cars, but may pickup high quality after market hose for it. Avoid all Dewalt filters and bags as they are incredibly overpriced for what you actually get. Great for professional trades – skip any wet pick up and should prove to be a good tool.
