Game changer! This is so nice!
Residential Construction Contractor here! It is shocking how quiet this vacuum is. The power it has is so unexpected compared to the sound level it produces. Paired with some filter bags it picked up drywall dust for hours without changing bags, and hardly any loss in suction. The split-nut filter removal mechanism is nice because it doesn’t knock the filter around and create a bunch of dust like the regular 3-notch spin off style or the rubber bottomed through-hole kind. Perfect for not making more of a mess when you’re trying to clean up. I liked the basket for the not-in-use attachments as well, other styles with the circular depressions that are intended to hold attachments, hardly ever do their job long term. This lets you store other things like spare bags, small extension cord, ect. Cord/hose holding strap is also a nice feature, simple and effective, nothing more than it ever needed to be. The power cord is a bit short, as well as the hose, so I just got extensions for both. Casters roll nicely, although I wish they were a bit larger. They have a non-marking polyurethane over molding that keeps them nice and quiet. Their construction seems a bit flimsy so I won’t be slamming it down on the ground for as long as I remember. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase. I hope all tool manufactures begin to follow this trend of quiet tools. People seem to forego protecting their eyes, ears and lungs. You only get one set, protect what you have, no job is worth damaging your senses. This makes that a bit easier.

Very Quiet, Powerful and Lightweight
The price was high but I got what I wanted. Came with all the fittings I needed and works great. Far more quiet than any other shop vac I’ve used. Worth every penny. Go for it. You only live once.

Hear that? No, not really and it rocks
The Chicago tool people are great and this vacuum is so quiet. Losts of power. Really good organization and lots of attachments. Did I mention how quiet this is??? I can hear my wife talking over it and I’m nearly deaf. May be it could be a little louder?? I’d buy two if I could use another one.

Everyone’s impressed by how quiet it is.
Lifelong DIYer, maker, always tinkering in my workshop. Both professionally and as a hobbyist, I’ve “crossed paths” with something like thirty shop vacuums in my career. They’re always loud. This one is dramatically quieter.I am using it alongside a “Dustopper” with a smaller 1-1/4″ ID hose at the final mile. Works very well for wood/plywood/MDF dust collection from a CNC router. The cyclone dust collector combined with the included internal vacuum bag, my setup is pretty must as dust-free as I could hope for. The three bags they give you are paper/kraft type, not fabric, but in my setup they’ll likely last years.Stationary mostly for me. Great for any dedicated tool setup like a miter saw station, router station, CNC machine, etc.Under a bench, I find myself having to check that it’s on. That’s how quiet it is.Seems to be soft start. Some days I’ll put a couple hundred on/off cycles into it. Seems happy to be on for hours on end.I probably wouldn’t use this with any liquids past the occasional shop WD-40 drip or coffee ring. For juicy spills I’d haul out my old loud beater.Bad news: I did NOT like the hose. Gifted it away immediately. Just adapted this vacuum to my pre-existing hose setup.Obviously when ordering, make absolutely sure you are getting the one that says “50% Quieter” , “New Quiet Technology” on the box. DXV09P-QTAEnjoy being able to hear yourself think again.

Best Shop Vacuum I have owned.
I am very happy with this tool. I have enjoyed the silence immensely and appreciate that it holds it’s own accessories so well. The wheels roll smooth, the top clips work wonderfully, and it’s filter is much more effective than what I’ve owned in the past. I felt it was a little pricy at first but I am glad that I decided on this one. Considering how loud shops are it’s nice to have a tool that keeps clean up quiet. I use it during cuts as well and have picked up some connectors to attach to my table saw and chop saw, I find it very helpful to hear my tools more clearly and not have to contend with the vacuum. In general my shop is cleaner and a bit safer because of this tool. Top Marks.

This vacuum is remarkably quiet, yet pulls a lot air.
My 40 year old Craftsman shop vac still works very well, but it was so noisy I couldn’t wait to turn it off. The Dewalt Stealth technology is very easy on the ears. And it doesn’t tip over traversing every little crack in the concrete or its own cord. However, the power cord is only 6 feet long, limiting operation to a 12 foot circle. The Craftsman cord is 20 feet covering 4 times the area.Buy this vacuum and 20 foot extension cord.The Dewalt draws 960 Watts, 8 Amps (measured) so at least a 16 gauge or better. The Craftsman draws 1260 Watts (measured). Roughly estimated, the Craftsman is probably making 160 Watts of noise that of course is wasted vibrating air for about 150 feet. The Craftsman spends 1100 Watts pulling air, the Dewalt about 900 Watts. The Dewalt flows a bit less air, but it sure feels strong enough to clean up a messy construction site and might take an extra minute or two, but nobody will care because it is quiet.

A Quiet Vacuum
Things I like:It is quiet. With all other vacuums the sound of the motor is loud and hearing protection should be used. With this Dewalt QTA the motor sound is very quiet. Most of the sound is from the air going into the hose and even that is minimal.All 4 casters have full swivel rotation. My old other brand shop vac had two full swivel rotation and 2 that were fixed. It is much easier to move this QTA around since all 4 casters swivel.The casters are rubber (?) and roll much easier and quieter than my other shop vac.Rather than tool storage over the casters, the QTA has a storage bag that fits on the side of the vac. All the tools, additional filter bags, and whatever you may want fit into the bag.Things I don’t like:Nothing.I like this so much that I sold my old shop vac.

I like that I can still chatter on to my man when he’s working in the shop with the shop vacuum going. Surprising quiet. It is used to collect dust as wood is being cut or sanded. Definitely helps keeping the dust out of the air.
