Powerful, quiet, and glides across the floor so easily.
This is such a qiuet vacuum, easy to manipulate, and has powerful suction. I replaced the hose with WORKSHOP Wet/Dry Vacs Vacuum Accessories WS17823A Wet/Dry Vacuum Hose, 1-7/8-Inch x 10-Feet Heavy Duty Contractor Wet/Dry Vac Hose for Wet/Dry Shop Vacuums available on Amazon. What a difference with this hose. No more struggling to maneuver. This vacuum reduces my cleaning time because I do not have to go over something more than 1 time. Well worth the money!

Looks good and is quiet
Wasnât happy with design. It takes several different filters. If you have the wrong one in water will shoot out the top.

Powerful Vacuum For Shop and Home
The Dewalt shop vacuum has very useful attachments. Normally I donât use a shop vacuum in the house because while most have the lifting capacity they donât generally have brushes that can really work in your home. With the Dewalt we found we could use it to get down to base surfaces after our recent storms. The brushes/nozzles have a very good quality of bristles that capture dust and debris in a single stroke and send it into the vacuum. In the garage or shop it will lift everything you expect it to â sawdust, cement dust, wood chips, metal splinters, etc â and indoors it will stand next to many of your premium brands of household vacuum.Weâve been doing âpost-hurricane/stormâ clean up as we had to move potted plants and some planters indoors for the last few storms. This has made our plant nursery/guest bathroom into quite a mess. With the Dewalt we had all the surfaces cleared in a few minutes and we were ready to get in and scrub some surfaces so we would be ready for company. A good all around Shop vacuum whether it is your first home or your 43rd shop, it gets the job done.

Truly a great little shop vac.
I already have a 14 gallon wet dry shop-vac that I have used for years. It is both a curse and a blessing. Actually everyone should have a wet dry shop-vac somewhere in the home to handle those messy situations that need more than a standard house vacuum. A pipe bursts and water is everywhere. The ceiling comes down. You drop an entire bag of groceries with glass jars, milk, and dog food. So in that sense shop-vacs are a blessing. As a curse, the 14 gallon vac I have is large, loud, and difficult to maneuver. When I am pulling it around, it constantly hits the walls since it doesnât roll smoothly, it snags on the long power cord, hits the door frames because it is large and wide, and it is way too loud â I mean LOUD. I got an add-on muffler for ours to quiet it down but it is still really loud.This DeWALT 5 Gallon Stealthsonic shop-vac has instantly become my new favorite. DeWALT has a winner here. The 5 gallon tank is a perfect size to move around without hitting everything while still holding a good amount of waste. You donât always need large volume shop-vacs. If we did, we would be pulling around 50 gallon tanks. Its low profile makes it really stable, it has the usual shop-vac tools, and it is quite. This thing is night-and-day compared to my older vac and other general shop-vacs. A household vacuum may be a bit quieter, but for a wet dry shop-vac, this Stealthsonic volume is impressive. I had my wife stand near me when we first turned it on. My reaction â WOW! Her reaction â ok, it is quieter. She uses primarily the house vac and I use a shop-vac in the garage so I guess I am sensitive to loud vacuums.Some nice upgrades are built into this vac. 1- the hose locks into the tank and has a swivel wand end. 2- the lid latches are east to align and clamp down. 3- the four caster wheels have gray rubberized treads so the vac rolls around very well. 4- there is a rubber stretch strap built into the vacâs head to store the hose. 5- the handle is nice and large if you need to use two hands to lift it. 6- the handle is also used as the power cable wrap. 7- the on/off switch is large. 8- the vac even has a static discharge string on the bottom so dust wonât surround the outside of the vacâs hose because of static charge buildup. DeWALT also has for this vacuum inside filter bags available when you want to use them to keep everything clean.For me, this wet dry shop-vac is now a blessing and a blessing. My only two issues so far are; first the two extension wand tubes are short. I am 6â2â and my wife is 5â8â. We both felt like we had to squat a little to get the floor brush level or almost level to the floor. And second, it would be nice if the vac included a tool caddy that either attached to the tank or was molded into the vacâs caster wheel base that could hold the tools or at least the two extension wands. DeWALT included a netted tool bag to hold all the tools but that is one more thing to have to search around for, try to remember where you put it, and haul around.Long term, my older shop-vac has a plastic tank. Weâll have to wait and see how this stainless steel tank holds up over the years to rusting and corrosion. You donât always completely dry a tank after wet pickup.So my old 14 gallon shop-vac will stay in the garage and, using ear protection, will be primarily used for vacuuming up large amounts of sawdust and messy garage stuff. The DeWALT 5 Gallon Stealthsonic shop-vac will be used for everything else. This smaller quiet wet dry shop-vac is a winner.
