Itâs sooooooo quiet!
This is a great shop vac. It has strong suction and it works great both wet and dry. I really purchased it for its stealth sonic quiet sound. I had an old Craftsman previously that was setting off loud noise warnings off on my iPhone! DeWalt makes a superb product and an amazing shop vac!!!

Strong yet quiet
My title says it all. Strong and very quiet. My old blue model was loud, tipped over at the slightest pull, constant dust being blown out the vent. Just a horrible blue vacuum. This DeWalt is SO quiet, I feel at times the motor is malfunctioning. I mean loud vacuum means it’s working, right? I keep putting my hand over the attachment only to have my hand sucked. Yes, that quiet, yet the vacuum is a short distance away. Speak of which the hose is too short when working in a workshop. Definitely need another 3-4 feet. However, and a big however, the extra long cord and big (hopefully anti-tip over) rear wheel makes up for the short hose. Feels like I need to get used to a short hose, longer cord , no tip overs, quiet, vs longer hose, short cord, always tipping over, dust being blown everywhere. For once, I’m very happy with a vacuum.

Super quiet, easy to maneuver for its size, decen suction
I was blown away at how quiet it is compared to my old Craftsman shop vac that finally gave up the ghost after twenty years. Apparently the technology has come a long way. The larger rear wheels make this way easier to move around on uneven and loose surfaces compared to only having the small casters for all 4 wheels, but the overall size and the large handle on the back, while making it easier to push and pull, also makes it harder to fit in smaller spaces. The handle on top of the motor/lid makes it easy to pick up the whole vacuum and to remove the top for emptying. It accommodates disposable paper bags, but note if you don’t plan to use these you ideally will have to remove the tool caddy/bag *and* the maneuvering handle in order to turn it over to empty it. Kind of a pain but I guess it’s designed to work with the bags that you just lift out instead of turning it over to dump out. The tools and accessories are all fine, and it’s nice to have the caddy on board to store everything. The rubber strap for the hose works great, and the hose locks securely to the vacuum so you can reliably pull it around by the hose. The suction was a little bit disappointing – I’ve found that it will not really pick up larger nails and screws very well at all, which my old one sucked up without missing a beat. I suppose that’s a trade off for it being so quiet. Overall pretty satisfied.

Great vac for my shop. Dewalt never disappoints.
I run a woodworking and movie/theater prop shop. Started with a Craftsman wet/dry vac. It had mediocre suction and died in less than 6 months. So I went with a Dewalt and I love this thing. It has very strong suction. Itâs easy to change bags. It works well with my dust collection system. And it makes all around shop cleanup far easier. Honestly, I wish Dewalt made bench top belt sanders because I always know they will be quality. Iâm never disappointed when I choose the Dewalt brand.

Severe pinch point
Fingers tips can easily be pinched in lid! Very poor and painful design! Hose is too large and rigid and only swivels on one end. No convenient storage for tubes as other models.
