This guy works and helps lower the noise. Very good!
Itâs only got one purpose. It quietens down the exhaust of the vacuum and that can help in an inside cleaning job like your shop. It also helps as it does equally well when used outside to clean. Your neighbors will appreciate it. Fits well into its exhaust port. Doesnât add much to the weight of the vacuum. Function is undeniable and durability will show in time. Iâm pleased and so are the neighbors.

This is only meant to muffle the exhaust port. Will it make the vacuum quieter, yes, a little, but not much. The motor is what is loud and this will not change that. This is meant to diffuse the exhaust so that it does not blow everywhere. It works exceptionally well for that purpose. I am very pleased with this product. If you buy this for the purpose of quieter operation, you will likely be disappointed. However, if you buy it so the exhaust doesn’t blow dirt around while you work, you will be pleased while also getting the benefit of making the machine a few decibels quieter.

To call it a muffler is a bit of an exageration.
It does diffuse the exhaust, but to call it a muffler is a bit much. It does cut down a bit on the super high frequency noise, but you still need to wear ear protection when attached to a shop vacuum.

I saw this featured in a YouTube video to reduce the noise of a shop vac AND diffuse the blowing action from the blower port of the shop vac. The blower port had always been a frustration for me in my woodworking shop because it blew all the fine dust particles everywhere. This adaptor diffuses the blast of exhaust air so it partially eliminates the problem AND make the shop vac a little quieter, too!
