First let me begin by saying, we searched for and chose BobSweep’s Bobi Pet to help deal with the ever present dog hair in our home. We have three medium sized short haired dogs, all of them shed. My boxer shed’s so much she should be bald, petting her is like blowing on a dandelion, poof, hair goes everywhere. Our main floor is primarily wood covered, with some rugs and carpet. Normally three days after having vacuumed the house, we would see dog hair piling up along the edges, a dusting of dog hair across the wood floor, and small pieces of dog food spattered across the kitchen (Thanks to one of my pitbulls who likes to grab food, walk across the room, chew it, and then get more leaving a trail of particles a mile long.)So now you know, we have a dog hair problem that can only be solved by fewer dogs, or constantly vacuuming. Thus we bought Bobi Pet and the journey began. We received Bobi and first off, she is aesthetically pleasing, just a cute, albeit large, looking thing. I hooked up the battery, chose a relatively suitable place to put the charging station (which is in a smaller area than what the instructions recommend.) and let her charge up. This took a few hours. After charging Bobi I grabbed the remote and let her “Go”. Bobi proceeded to back up, turn around, and run directly into a dining room chair. Bobi then continued to push the chair a few inches before realizing it, she then changed direction. Bobi has sensors for this sort of contact, but my chair legs, and almost all of my furniture is dark brown or black. The sensors around the front of Bobi are little buttons of sort, unfortunately they aren’t off set so Bobi hit’s the corner’s of the chairs and doesn’t realize it for a moment. Bobi does however figure it out, and will alter course rather quickly. I should also say, Bobi has not damaged any of my furniture.Bobi continued sporadically about my home, smacking into table legs and chairs, and trying to unsuccessfully get under my short couches, though her tenacity at that is admirable as she tries to push through them. Did I mention Bobi does not seem to have a rhyme, reason, pattern, or otherwise when it comes to cleaning? She seems to just bounce from one direction to another, often cleaning the same spot over and over again. However, somehow, after a full run she gets my kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and spare bedroom, and somehow she seems to hit every spot.AFTER A WEEK WITH BOBI:I find myself speaking to Bobi, admittedly this started on day one, when she keeps cleaning the same spot, when she starts pushing my dog’s food bowls across the room, or for whatever reason that causes me to think I can speak to a robot. Also, my wife and I both refer to Bobi as a member of our household, which is rather unsettling as to how easily this little robot becomes a member of the family (think iRobot).MAINTENANCE:I clean her HEPA filter and empty her dustbin about halfway through the cleaning cycle just to help keep the suction up. The dustbin fills up but has room midcycle so I don’t really need to empty it, I just notice a lot of dog hair gets built up on the HEPA filter so I feel the need to brush it off. The two are part of the same component so I just empty them both. This is simple to do and takes only 30 seconds or so (Remember there is A LOT of hair in my house, you may not need to do this).Every couple days I check the brush rollers underneath Bobi and remove whatever hair has twisted itself around in there (my wife has long hair). This normally takes maybe 5 minutes, it’s also very simple to do. Actually everything regarding Bobi is simple to do. Really, it’s all modular and not rocket science.OPERATION:Bobi moves without a purpose, or so it seems. She does actually clean everywhere she can get to. She is effective as well. Since getting Bobi, there is no longer a battle with dog hair or dog food particles. My floors actually are clean, and the amount of hair picked up in the dustbin proves it. For those curious, yes she can tackle multiple rooms on the same level of a house without assistance, and she does a really good job at it.Bobi’s battery lasts a little over an hour, and once she runs low, she returns to her power station. I run her everyday and she has found her power station every time. I’m a bit impressed by that. I do have to admit that I cheer her on though. I also laugh when she detects the station because she goes into space station and shuttle docking mode, slow, deliberate movements that I don’t know why, but entertain me.Also, Bobi is very quiet. Bobi can be in the same room that I’m watching TV and she is not a distraction. She is still a vacuum and makes noise, but it does not assault the senses… the dishwasher on the other hand, I hate the dishwasher.CUSTOMER SUPPORT:When we received Bobi there was a card in there for a “limited time offer” of a free additional package, we chose a rejuvenation package that contains multiple new brushes. I had to e-mail Bobsweep regarding choosing the package and received a fast response. I was happy with that. However, yesterday I broke the backdoor covering the motor for Bobi’s suction (the impeller access). I contacted Bobsweep regarding purchasing just the back door and was told that I would have to buy another dustbin assembly as the door could not be sold separately. The assembly is $39.99, I am not paying that when tape will hold the door on. I am a little disappointed with there not being a way to purchase smaller components, but such is life. I shouldn’t have broken it in the first place. The e-mail response however, was fast and courteous, so no issues with the employees in the least.RECOMMENDATION:The nuts and bolts of the review right? Would I buy Bobi again or would I try a different robotic vacuum… yes, I would buy another Bobi, I would also recommend a Bobi to someone else. I feel that the price on Amazon, $329, is a great price for Bobi. I would not however have paid the $800 for Bobi, or any other robotic vacuum for that matter (I’m looking at you Roomba!). Bobi has a lot of great features, but minor improvements could be made to the obstruction detection system. Not that it’s a real problem, but she likes to push chairs around.I will say this, Bobi, or any robotic vacuum, is not a cure all for keeping your home clean. You are paying for a little bot that will help keep your floors clear of debris and extend the time between a thorough cleaning. Just know that, it may be 2017, but this isn’t the Jetsons, don’t expect it.

Hi I have been using bObi pet robotic vacuum ( for the rest of this review it will be called her)I have 4 dogs 2 black-haired & 2 Brown to reddish colored. So it makes no difference as to what color of anything that I get the dog hairs are going to show up. I’m talking about my pets because this is supposed to be a pet robotic vacuum. This may be good for like a house trailer with 1 dog. In my pictures, I will show you how much she will hold. When I do one room that has not been done for about 3 or 4 days I will have to empty her out about 2 times at least. I have also had the bob pet sweep robotic vacuum. And if I was to buy another one it would be another bob pet sweep. (When I got bObi I have bob pet sweep to my mother -in-law. Oops mistake.) With her not having very much room to collect pet hair, dust, and dirt. It also states that it also mops. In the photos you will see exactly how big of a cloth it has to mop with, you will have to change this cloth several times. You will be able to dry mop, like a dust mop, but I would definitely say you will not be doing any wet mopping. I do prefer the wheels and suspension that bObi has over Bob the two bigger Wheels on bObi have more soft rubber on them they do get around a whole lot better. Which makes her able to get around more and better. It is harder to clean her out when cleaning the Dustbin than it was with him. It seemed like he got a lot more of the dust and dog hairs than what she does. When she was working in my living room one day I happened to walk by and I saw dog hairs flying everywhere, that did not leave a very good impression upon me. She has a softer rubber all the way around her outer side which makes it better on furniture and walls. She does have sensors that should keep her from bumping into walls, but there is times when the object she’s coming up on is too high for the sensors to pick up, but when she does bump into something she will back away. There is also sensors on the bottom of her which kept her from falling off stairs or ledge. There is also a rectangular like area on the bottom of her which will put off a blue looking light, that is called UV sanitizing it will be on the whole time that you are running her. She has a side brush that does an excellent job at getting dirt and debris from along your walls. There is also one wheel in the front which helps her turn around effortlessly. When you get her she will have one brush in her along with another plastic or rather rubber brush along with it you will also get one extra fresh. It has a filter on the bottom which when you take the Dustbin out you will have to clean the filter also as it is built into the Dustbin. What I like the best is the block that comes with her, this block will keep her from going into a room that you do not want her in. We have the dogs Watering Bowl in our bathroom so I really did not want her to go into the bathroom unless I am prepared for that. And also she has a hard time getting into our kitchen due to a ledge that is about 1 1/2 inches high, so when she’s doing our kitchen I use the block to make sure she stays in there. She has a round remote that comes with her that is digital you can program her to go on different days at different times or to go everyday at the same time. Or you can just push GO on the remote when you want her to vacuum. There are about 3 modes of vacuums you can choose which one, or just press the button and she will get the job done. Or at least a pretty good job. I will be putting on several pictures. If you would have any further questions I would be delighted to answer them. But to clarify I did get rebuilt version of her. So I do not know if some of the problems I have with her is due to that or if she is just the way I have described.I have gave her three stars because I believed she could vacuum and filter the dirt dust and dog hairs better. I also forgot to mention she does have a charging dock when she is running low on charge she will automatically go back to it. It tells you in the direction how much room you need in front of and on both sides of the dock for her to be able to find it. We have a male dog that still have the habit of marking his territory. So that being said we did have to try and hide the dock comma surprise surprise she finds it. I am enclosing pictures with shows how smart she is in finding this dock. When you want to you can take the electronic part off of the Dustbin and wash it in the water. Just make sure that the electronic part with the fan and connectors is not on the dirt bin.I wanted to do an update today. My 28 year old son was here the other day and he is one of those like my husband that will never grow up. He had the remote in his hands and discovered it had to speeds. So the next time that I used her I put it on the slow speed. That made all the difference in the world. There is no flying hair and dust in the air. And she covers a whole lot better she’s not skipping from here to there. And it just makes sense that she’s picking up more than what she did before. I’m so sorry to this company to have made the review I did. I made the reviews and haste and I wished I would not have.

Bobi cleans very well and is really easy to opperate. It’s incredibly well designed and very easy to clean and maintain. It comes with replacement parts (although I’ve never had to use any of them) and is just a tough little guy. When ever we forget to clean up stuff and bobi get stuck on a sock or something, nothing ever breaks or get damaged. I’ve been using my bobi for close to two years and the battery started to die on me, however the amazing customer support (shout out to Bryan) helped me trouble shoot the little guy and sent me a new battery super quick and without charge! Bobi is an amazing little helper from a great company. I’d recommend it to everyone!

It often gets stuck making the transition from our hard floors on to the area rugs, and the mop isn’t very effective for a large area. We’re not sure how this happened, but it actually drove itself off the stairs and fell down 15 steps. It still works, so I will say it’s sturdy, but apparently the edge detection sensors aren’t great. Luckily it comes with the block, so we’ll make sure to use that in the future. It’s not perfect but it does a good job with the dog hair. A robot vacuum is definitely a game changer, but I would look at other robots.

A regular stand-up vacuum is still needed for deep cleaning on carpets once a week (2 bedroom apartment with 70% thick carpets). But you can have Bobi go 5 times a week for picking up dirt/breadcrumbs/cereal etc. Especially if you have babies/kids/pets around who make a mess not only once a week. And it takes you 5minutes, instead of 1 hour to get out the stand-up vacuum and do a full clean of the house. Customer service is great and fast to respond. I use slow mode so it does a more thorough job and the battery lasts even longer than stated in the manual.

I bring it to the big bathroom after I shook the area rugs and let her go do the magic! She even climbs on the ridge around the toilet and gets all the long hair around the sink. After a few minutes I open the door and voila, it’s done!I work a different hours and I couldn’t fit a housecleaner every 2 weeks with my schedules, so with Bobi I ca sleep in the mornings after having worked late evenings. And if I compared the price between the two, a housecleaner every 2 weeks is about $100 per months and at that rate, my robot vacuum will be paid in 5 months. The unit is very easy to clean up , it is well worth to take the time to read the instructions on the maintenance or watch it on youtube. We are very happy and I can recommend this product if you are keen on maintaining it and keeping it for many years to come.
