This one to me was worth the buy, solid dust buster for those smaller messes and vacuuming out the car. The extending nozzle is great for getting under the seats and the carpet attachment works well too.People complaining about lack of power etc maybe havenât owned a cordless dust buster before? For the size and value itâs excellent but you can never compare a handheld dust buster to a corded home vacuum etc.

This Black and Decker DustBuster is American and as Jacqueline has said it will NOT work in UK and in the product details says nothing about needing a converter, I should not be giving the DustBuster 5 stars really because of this non information but the machine is excellent

This product Is not fit for purpose given it is positioned as a pet-vacuum. I bought it as I wanted something to suck up my dog’s fur on the carpet and on timber surfaces. It does neither with any effectiveness!I have previously owned B&D hand vacuums and they have worked well but this is probably the worst vacuum I have ever had the misfortune of buying. It doesn’t even really work in the car.Don’t waste your money – it is a not a pet vacuum, not even a dust buster. Rather, buy the Dyson option which costs a little more but is infinitely superior in vacuuming up pet hair

Great Hand Vac for Pet Hair and More
I had a very old Shark hand vacuum that was past ready for retirement. Its brush roller attachment’s drive gear had broken so that part had been useless for some time.Looking for alternatives I came upon this Black and Decker pet vacuum, and despite a few negative reviews it looked like just what I needed. After receiving the box I dived right in and checked out my new toy, and I have to say the negative reviews appear to be groundless.We have a cat, so there is plenty of pet hair on which to test the brush roller attachment, and the rubber roller is VERY effective. Cleaning up shed fur off the bedspread was quick, easy, and left zero hairs behind. Impressive.The built-in extension nozzle is plenty long enough, and because it’s integrated you don’t have to worry about it falling out during use or getting lost. Suction power is quite good, with the unit easily picking up cat litter, small leaves, bugs, and all the usual household dust and debris during my testing, even on the regular setting (a second power button press activates “turbo boost”).Battery life has been great so far, after an overnight charge I put the vacuum through its paces on a number of cleanup jobs around the house including stairs, and the battery indicator has yet to even drop a bar. Rating is twenty minutes of run time on a full charge, should be plenty for household cleanups.The dust chamber is also very easy to clean, with the lid hinged to drop open and stop instead of flapping back and forth. Hold it over the trash and drop all that dirt right in. Pet hair tends to clump in the chamber which makes it easy to pull out for disposal. The filter itself is simple to remove, disassemble, and clean, and can even be rinsed and reused, a great feature.Overall I am very happy with the purchase of this vacuum and would definitely buy it again. The only negatives I identified are the power button being too easy to accidentally activate (would be nice if it was recessed a bit), and I wish it had a brush nozzle attachment. But these gripes are minor. If you have pets and the associated shed hair, this vacuum is a great choice for cleaning up after them, and you too.

Surprisingly Effective and Powerful
I had serious doubts going into this purchase. After months of research, I was convinced that most of the handheld vacuums just wouldn’t do a good job on dog fur. I have 2 large dogs that shed continually (not seasonally), who live on the couch and upholstered chairs. After reading the reviews on this B&D pet vacuum, however, I decided to give it a try. And boy what a pleasant surprise. This little powerhouse is great on fur, and has a battery that lasts long enough to vacuum the entire couch and chaise. The dust bin is large and washable. The bin gets filled completely, but that is simply a sign of how much fur it picks up. The roller accessory comes off so that the vacuum is useful for other messes as well, but it truly shines for fur on upholstered furniture. I highly recommend this vacuum.

Good power, but lacking some things
For the complaints:1. When using the pet attachment if you push it away from you it’s great. Picks up my dog’s needle-like fur with ease. If you pull it towards you while vacuuming it has a tendency to detach and lose suction. I think this is a design flaw with the extension partially coming out.2. I did read another person having issues and I also experienced the filter housing detaching each time you empty the bin. I need to use my hands to grab the fur/dust from the filter housing. Not a huge deal, but it should be noted.3. No wall attachment offered of any kind. It’s kind of annoying that it needs to be resting on a flat surface of some kind and I wish I could easily mount I on the wall. Oh, well.The pros are that it has a couple power options and it does a great job vacuuming up dirt/dust and fur. It’s not too heavy and I can easily task my 8 year-old to clean up small messes in the house. Battery life seems great in the lower power setting, but I think of I were to use the higher power setting it wouldn’t last 20 minutes or so.I’ll come back and edit this if my opinion changes as this is only my initial impressions.
