Love this vacuum!
This is a great little vacuum. I’ve been using it on my pine floors and it really goes after the cat hair, stray pieces of cat food and tracked litter. It’s easy to maneuver and clean. I really like being able to not only empty the canister easily but also wash it and the filter thoroughly. The battery charges very quickly and last an amazingly long time. It’s easy to see with the green lights how much charge there is. This vacuum is not the best on a thick carpet but works well on thinner carpets and great on wood and tile floors.

It’s great, even 6 years later!
We bought this 1984 Ram Bissell cordless vacuum in 2018. It still does a great job. I love how lightweight it is. I’m in my 70’s and so easy to use. I do recommend buying the replacement filter tube. When we replace them, it works like new.It is very easy to empty. You’d be surprised how quickly the canister fills up. I like to empty it after 2 rooms because I think the suction and airflow is best.It holds a charge for long time. We have wood floors with area rugs and hall runners. One of my favorite features is the handle lays flat when vacuuming under beds..I’ve had so many vacuums over the years and this one is my favorite, hands down.

Truly replaces a plug in vac.
Bought this from Amazon. Replaces an older model I’ve used for 8 years; a G-tech Air Ram. I guess Bissell has acquired the company or licensed the product or has become their US sales agent. I don’t know. But this vac has numerous improvements over the older model. The biggest is with the filter. I wash the filter every month. Both models are easy to empty the bin, but the old model was nearly impossible to replace the filters. This new model is a piece of cake. Recommend you buy an extra filter so you can wash it monthly, but you don’t need to wait until it dries to put it back together. This new one has shields to allow adequate pick-up on both push and pull strokes. The light is also a great improvement. I was afraid it would shorten battery life, but it doesn’t seem to. Of course it is a mixed blessing because now I see how much is on my “clean” floors. I use the vac every Friday for 45+ minutes vacuuming my 2500 sq ft home. Plenty of charge left over. All hard wood and tile. No carpet. But, I think the beater bar would work great on rugs and carpet. I consider this a full strength vacuum that replaces a plug in model. No it does not have attachments. But what it does, it does wonderfully; light weight, rolls easily, picks up my cat’s hair. Also, please take note; it is the only battery vac I found with the motor and battery on the floor. All the rest have it in the handle, and your wrist is going to take a beating using one of those to clean a whole house. I love this vacuum, though loving a vacuum is strange, but this one is super.

Convenient
For cordless back. it lasts quite a while. I use it on my wood floors. which it works pretty good. A little harder on carpet that has any kind of pile. The VAC is nice and light.I like that it is pick up and dump in the trash. Easy to clean and you can wash it down. Very convenient. I think it does better on. wood. vinyl. Then it does on carpet. Just for the ease of push and pull.

This is FAR and away my favorite device. Ever
I’m 59 and in my youth worked as a school custodian and private cleaning crew to pay for college. I’ve used many vacuum cleaners. This is FAR and away my favorite device. Ever. This vacuum cleaner goes easily from hard wood or tile surfaces to rugs and carpets. It runs on a rechargeable battery and has power to spare. Emptying the collection bin is very straight forward and simple. You can also easily remove the roller for use on loose rugs, or fringed rugs. The price compared to that of other similar models makes the Bissell a bargain. I shopped for this product by using my subscription to Consumer Reports, where this model was highly rated. It was about 1/3 the price of the Dyson, although the Dyson can convert to a hand held unit and includes tools – – both lacking on this Bissell model. For me, this unit is all I need, and I vacuum much more often because it is so easy (and fun) to use.=====================UPDATE AFTER 4 MONTHS=====================November 9, 2018:The Bissell RAM Air is still working flawlessly. I haven’t experienced any of the issues I’ve read from some users — but I thank them for mentioning them, since I’m watching carefully for any signs of similar flaws. I do understand that this vacuum is not heavy duty, and using it in a commercial environment on a daily basis could wear out the pins that hold the handle together, due to the repeated stress on the plastic pins by pushing and pulling the handle. I may try to head this off by epoxy gluing the handle.=====================UPDATE AFTER 3 YEARS=====================November 8,2021:This is the best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever had. It holds a charge for a very long time. I never experienced any issues with the handle, as mentioned by an earlier post, where the user used it frequently at a business. It is easy to clean. One can (and must) clean the hepafilter occasionally. This is best done by hand, using dish soap, then drying it thoroughly by air.I still highly recommend this product.

I ordered my first one and on the second use, the unit died. I dealt with customer service at Bissell. They were very good. Guided me to “reset” the unit to see if it would work. Did not work and they emailed me a return label. Was not on the phone with them long. Returned the unit and received a new unit not long after that. This second unit works like a charm. I have had it for six months now and because it’s take such a small footprint, I leave it permanently on the main floor. I have a cat and a dog and I’ll pass the vacuum every few days. And it does make up the fur. I appreciate how the unit keeps its charge and it is quite strong for a battery unit. It also works very well on my area carpet that I have. Once i am done, I just empty the little canister (because it does get full after one pass thru the house) which is a simple operation and I am done. The vacuum is not too high so it is able to go underneath my couch. And the pivot on it is great.

A great little device. Very good customer service. Bought unit in Feb 2019 and only major nuisance problem as it got older is I have to hit the stop/start switch hard and a few times. So far always works. It is not our main vacuum, it is our quick vacuum device, or when we want to deep vacuum our carpets. We also use it to get into small spaces, just used it between the bed and walls.

After using for about 3 months I can appreciate the overall quality and ease of use this vacuum offers.-Battery lasts for about 40-45 mins-Very easy to empty bagless canister-Great with picking up edge debris-We have vinyl plank and a large long pile rug that is vacuumed almost daily due to a large shedding dog in the house. It works well on BOTH surfaces. The rug takes a little longer and a couple more passes to clean thoroughly but it does get the job done.-Handle almost lays completely flat to the ground, making it quite easy to clean under chairs and other hard to reach areas.-Battery charge level indicatorSome Cons(because nothing is perfect)-A bit on the loud side. This is not a quiet vacuum but it certainly gets the job done well-Bulky compared to some of the cordless stick vacuums on the market-With the bulk comes a little more weight. I should stress that it’s not HEAVY.. just heavier than most stick vacuumsI’d highly recommend this workhorse to ANYONE looking for a cordless vacuum that simply does what a vacuum is supposed to do very well.

This is an amazing little machine! I bought the Dyson Animal 7 and it conked out after 3 months or so. Took it back and saw the Consumer Report rating on this Air Ram. For the price, this is really great value. Rates like the highest or second highest in its class. We’ve been using this for a month and man it’s really great. I just vacuumed my carpeted stairs, entire basement carpets, bare floor kitchen, bare floor living room and bare floor foyer (about 20 minutes, 1000 sq ft.) All in total. It didn’t lose one bit of its charge. The machine probably doesn’t have the same draw (Suction power) that the Dyson models do, but the Air Ram is one third to one quarter the cost. The filter slides out completely for cleaning. It’s simple, versatile and great value. Even if it dies in a year’s times, which I hope it doesn’t, it’s much better value than Dyson equipment. Cleans every bit of dog hair and slightly struggles picking up larger debris like a dog kibble, but this sucker, (excuse the pun) is a pleasure to use. I highly recommend and would endorse anytime. I also own a Bissell carpet shampooer. Works fairly well too. Only rated 4 stars for durability since I’ve only used for a month.

I am physically unable to use a regular upright or canister vacuum, and need something light and easy to use to keep on top of pet hair. I selected this after reading the reviews and am not disappointed. The suction is much stronger than any stick vacuum I’ve ever used. It is easy for me to maneuver because it is cord free, has an adjustable handle, and because it pivots so well that I don’t have to make many passes to get around things. As well, there is a slight pull forward when it runs, which means less pushing. Very very easy to empty and keep the canister and filter clean.I only vacuum a few minutes at a time, so haven’t tested battery life. I do like that the battery can be easily removed for charging, And also that it can be replaced if needed, or a second one can be purchased as backup if you need to vacuum for longer.I had high hopes for this vacuum and it’s even better than I expected.
