Better than the rest
It is far superior to the other electric gravel cleaners on the market. Other vacuums use a bag with tiny holes that affect the suction, those holes get clogged very fast to where water can no longer escape and the bag must be rinsed to continue — it may take 3-5 rinses to vacuum a 30 gallon aquarium. This gravel vacuum uses multiple layers of sponges so you can use it many times over without losing suction. It was easy to put together and offers quite a few different vacuum heads for different circumstances. The seller is very friendly and will help you troubleshoot any issues you have.I have a few criticisms, but the vacuum still deserves 5 stars relative to other vacuums out there:- there may be a little too much suction to where I’m scared of sucking up a fish- the on/off switch on the wire is a bit too far from the vacuum handle, making it difficult to cut off quickly if there’s an emergency- after turning off and removing from water, there is still water left in the machine that comes from the top and bottom that could leave a small mess- the arm can be difficult to extend/shorten when going between tanks with different depths

Works Great
3rd one I have tried that is this style of gravel cleaner. First one broke after a few months. Second one did not work at all and was returned. This one works fantastic. Here is the verdict. When using the large circular fixture it literally sucks the water up at an incredibly fast rate. This would be ideal for a tank of 100 gallons plus. Anything smaller it literally might be to fast to allow you to clean precisely. So just run it without the fixture for tanks around 50 gallons or so. Mine is a 55. I pulled out 5 gallons in under 30 seconds with the large fixture. That’s just to fast. So go without the large fixture.The tube that goes into your bucket for emptying is thick and stiff. This means it does not kink up but is a little hard to work with. I am sure it will loosen up as time goes on . When you pull the trigger the entire suction tube moves with it. This means when you shove it into the gravel it kind of gives and moves backwards. Makes it a little difficult but if you just hold the suction tube you can put it in the gravel no problems at all. It gets the water moving quickly and the trigger is easy to pull. Your hand will not get tired. 5 squeezes of the trigger and the water is flowing with ease. I wish the clip you put on the side of your bucket gripped a little bit tighter but it works adequately . Giving it 4 stars. Only one product ever got a 5 Star from me. So this product is tops. It works great. I cant recommend it more highly. Very impressed with how easy it is to get the water flowing. Very impressed overall with the design and ease of use with this product. Now so long as it does not break in a few months like a different brands had done then this product is a killer buy. Great price. Great product. If this is how you clean your aquarium buy this product. You won’t be disappointed. Should work well for any size tank. And I mean that. If you have a 110 gallon tank this thing will empty out your tank in nothing flat. No joking. In short, get it and buy it and use it.

Decent
Bought it to clean the sand in my aquarium, it didn’t do a great job just stirred things up rather than filtering it and grabbing the debris. Ended up using a fish net to filter the debris from the sand. I feel like this product would work great in water changes however. It has good suction and pushes water out of the top of the unit. The plastic seems real thin and easy to break so be careful assembling. Speaking of assembly, lol the directions were in German it seemed like. Not English or Spanish like most items. I went by the pictures in the booklet provided and it is self explanatory but figured it would come with an English manual to help with the assembly. All in all I think I would still use this item for the water changes. Cleaning the glass, corners and decor not so much. I have sand in my tank and it didn’t do justice.

Waste of money
The outlet hose comes curled up. Permanently. The hose itself is so stiff that if you successfully get one end in a bucket, any movement of the siphon pulls it right back out again. Which is why they included an adjustable bucket clamp.That doesn’t matter, though, because even at its tightest setting, the hose just slides through the clamp. That doesn’t matter either, because the slightest movement of the siphon – and thus the hose – causes the adjustable clamp to un-adjust and open up, completely releasing the hose. Which then departs the bucket.None of that matters, however, because my siphon stopped working after about two minutes and will not resume. No suction from the trigger. None. Nada. Zip. Flow valve open, flow valve closed. Doesn’t matter. Nothing.I won’t be returning this to Amazon, however, because the visceral satisfaction of heaving this steaming pile into the trash is worth more to me than the refund.

Really good product with strong suction, however I’m quite disappointed as I never received the connectors to elongate the suction tube, so I can’t use it as I intended .I instead received two of these attachments!!!!Don’t buy it if you have a deep aquarium I guess
