handy purchase
probably my best purchase for cleaning my axolotl tank. i use this a lot. i had a python syphon but it was too big and bulky, this works great. i use it for emptying the tank, or doing water changes, i use it for cleaning up debris, i love this little siphon. i just turn it on for a few seconds and then turn it off and let gravity take it’s course. i also use a 5 gallon bucket, when it gets about full, then i go dump the bucket and start this siphon up again. it works flawlessly and is very easy to clean

Decent better than a handheld one for sure
Works on my gravel like a champ but sand not as much got clogged by the sand a lot but if you shut it off and on while using it on sand it worked better less clogging but was worried about the reviews saying it came with missing pieces and didnât work on arrival or the motor breaking mine didnât come without pieces it worked when I first used it hopefully donât break next time but seems good enough for my 4 tanks I used it on the first time

So much better than I thought
After reading reviews I was hesitant. Then I tried this out. I love this.So much easier than I thought. The directions are not that great but a little common sense putting it together and it works great.I love the concept of filtering the water through the bag and putting the clean water back in the tank unless you are dealing with a water change. A larger filter bag would be nice but stopping just to clean it out is fine for me.None of the pieces have broke…just using a gentle hand and not forcing any of the pieces seems to work for me.

Very poorly designed
I was extremely disappointed with this product. The sponge filters do not stay in the sand filter;the filter bag did not fit the turtle shower. As far as using the device to clean gravel, all it did was create a holy mess. Bad design=bad product.

Excellent but Some Caveats to Know
I consider myself above average in the arena of difficult furniture assembly. So, if youâre not- youâre probably going to send this back. Iâll load a video later with some instructions on how to use. I have a 75 gallon freshwater tank with a sand bottom.Good:-mine didnât leak and had great suction.- The handle made it easy to use without getting my hands in the water.- The drain hose is flexible and was easy to stick inside my drain hose to drain directly outside. It was quick: about 8 minutes to remove 20%.Bad:- the instructions are trash, literally. Just throw it away. No useful diagram and I actually used a video review from the reviews to figure it out. Still took me almost 30 minutes to figure out the connection on the bottom so I could the attachments.- it is NOT a sand cleaner. Thatâs a lie and if you attempt it, it will immediately start sucking your sand up too. Toss it out with the âmanualâ-also, toss out the little black sponges that go into the clear piece. They are also trash. Immediate blockage and prevent the gunk from going any further. As soon as you turn it off, it falls back into the tank.-hold the wand at about a 45 degree angle and just lightly brush the sand. (I feel like gravel would be heavier and may not need this.)-the âshower curtain returnâ is super weird and bulkyâ¦it wouldâve been better as a straight price so it doesnât bump into everythingâ¦Iâm trying to figure out a modification.-the power cord needs about 5 more foot. I may add a small extension to get the length.-cord isnât grounded which is concerning, Water and electricity need a grounded plug.Overall, I am not sending it back and I cleaned the whole tank. Trial and error and some patience and it was good but I nearly lost my mind trying to figure out how to attach the attachments.Iâll update again to let you know it holds up and some helpful assembly videos

Works well
The product work as intended. I used the brush, the small tip (for gravel), and the water head suction. They all function well. The motor is the same tech as the Aquaclear filtration systems. Easy clean up. Assembling and disassembling the fan from the motor to clean is easy. Overall great product and price.

The aquarium vacuum appeared promising, but ended up being a disappoint…ment.
I’ve been dealing with an algae problem in my aquarium. The suction from the bulb type siphon I was using wasn’t even strong enough to pick up the small clumps of floating algae let alone clean the gravel on the bottom of the tank. So I ordered this electric aquarium vacuum.Unfortunately, the vacuum wasn’t much of an improvement over the siphon. Since I’m past the 30 day return period I have to decide whether to keep trying the vacuum in case the problem is user error, give it to someone I really don’t like, or just write it off as a bad purchase and pitch it in the garbage. The first thing I noticed after taking the vacuum out of the box was that the user manual really left alot to be desired. It was primarily a “what’s inside the box” list. A drawing of the part, part name, and a 3 – 7 worditem descrption. A drawing of threading the power cord up the handle and attaching the power cord to the vacuum unit. Finally, 2 drawings of the assembled vacuum, standard assembly and a specialized tool assembly. No assembly instructions, no operationg instructions, no operating tips.I decided to test the vacuum to see if there was an actual problem with the vacuum itself. So I filled a bucket with water and tried the Water Transfer accessory. It worked well and was really sucking out water from the bucket. I then attached the other accessories to the same hose the water transfer accessory was on. While all of the accessories did pull water from the bucket, it was at a much slower rate.So I suspect that the lack of vacuum power might be due to the sponge filters and/or the perforated head covers that the various accessories utilize in order to keep sand/gravel out of the vacuum’s impeller. In any event, I’m considering this vacuum as a write off and plan to search for another one outside of Amazon.

Have been using the cleaner for almost a year when one of the parts broke (totally my fault). Was looking for a replacement part, unfortunately with no luck. Emailed AQQA for advise where to buy the broken part and they suggested to ship it to me for free, all I had to pay is $8 for shipping from China. When I received the part a couple of weeks later, I discovered it did not fit. So I was back to square one. Emailed the manufacturer again, and the next thing I know- they shipped me a whole new set! So happy with their support! My aquarium is clean again. Thank you, AQQA, great customer service!

it definitely sucks! but in a good way, still figuring out all the pieces but so far no problems. i wish the auction could be regulated though i keep having to start and stop because it gets clogged with gravel. instructions would be a great feature but i will utube it and see what i can find there

Havenât even owned it a whole year or used it more than a handful of times and itâs fried already. Always been stored properly, no water got into the electronic part. Very unsatisfied.
