Very Good Product
Products is made of thin cheap plastics but it works pretty well and easy to assembled. The vacuum is strong. I was able to vacuum sand into an empty bucket. I have bought a similar cheap products that will not vacuum water because the outlet is at the top of the handle which made it impossible to vacuum the sand. Those cheap item also does not have good vacuum power to pull out the waste in substrate. This product only need the motor in the water which will work with most aquarium tank. Not sure on long term use but so far it works pretty well.

Still working after 2 years
After 2 years this vacuum is still working with no mechanical problems. I am now shopping for a second vacuum and would buy this again but it is very strong and will suction out 25-30% of the water in a 13 gallon aquarium too quickly. It will reduce the water level by 25% before I can remove all the debris on the floor of the aquarium. To completely clean the tank it ends up removing about 30-35% of the water, sometimes 50%. For this reason I am looking for vacuum that has speed control that reduces suction power. I have had none of the problems I see others writing about. It is really a good vacuum, just a little too powerful for my needs.

Not quite what I expected
Comes with a ton of different parts. Arrives unassembled with few directions. Pump will work for a bit and then quit.

Poor design, poor quality, vague and incomplete instructions
The instructions are vague and incomplete – they do tell you how to assemble the pump, sort of, but have varying indications of what the attachments are to be used for and no directions as to how to actually use the product to clean the tank. The duckbill scraper is useless. The brush works like you would expect a brush to work, but the recirculating mode just recirculates dirty water into the tank. The filter mesh bag doesn’t actually trap the debris. And due to the design of the pump, you have to repeatedly twist the recirculating attachment to avoid pumping water out of the tank. And when you get the attachments near the bottom of the tank you submerge the outlet of the recirculator. I tried to use the gravel vacuum but the suction is far too strong so it just sucks up gravel to clog the filter, and just recirculates the dirty water anyway. Using the tank drain hose instead of the recirculator drains the tank far too quickly – the tank would be empty long before you could clean all the gravel. It’s also built poorly – when I tried to pull the recirculator tube out of the top of the pump, which is a friction fit instead of a threaded connection, the pump housing came apart, as it just snaps together. Used it once and am returning.
