Great algae brushes!
I have a 5 gallon aquarium in my She shack. It starting developing a algae problem right around the time the guppies were hatched, so I couldn’t change the water. I found them on Amazon and thought they’re perfect. My brush cleans the glass with ease (I can change the water next week), I gave my husband one for his 20 gallon aquarium and he likes it. The small brush is now used to keep the back of the stove clean, where the controls are. It works better than the magnetic cleaner I got, due to my disabilities. I can’t imagine not having the algae brushes in our fish maintenance cabinet.

Better to Manage Tank Naturally
We have had a wide variety of fish tanks in our life – saltwater, freshwater, tadpole, amphibian, etc. etc. One of the key mantras throughout those decades is that a well-managed tank is one that balances itself naturally, without a lot of external management. You shouldn’t have to attack problems with external fixes if the tank is doing well. The same is true with scrubbing systems. If you have a plastic tank, scrubbers can cause a lot of harm. I tend to use glass systems, because they are much safer, but it also ends up being heavier and more expensive, so I understand completely why some people just can’t move in that direction. In this particular 20-gallon glass freshwater tank, we had just installed new lights and the light cycle caused algae to bloom. It’s a natural response to light in a tank. One response is to then get manual scrubbers to deal with the algae. We did get some scrubbers to short-term mitigate the problem. That is a short term solution, but it of course means you have to work on that daily to keep the tank in balance. That is a fairly serious commitment. What we then did was buy a few oto fish, which are fish who love to eat algae. In a matter of days the tank was pristine. That makes far more sense on a long-term basis. The light keeps the community of fish healthy. The oto eat the algae that grows. Everyone lives in harmony. A human isn’t trying to desperately scrub away the algae that are the natural food source for the oto.So while I commiserate for people trying to desperately scrub away algae, I highly recommend, long term, that you look into natural alternatives for your fish tank.

Great tool
These sponges are awesome, saves me from making a mess.

Too Abrasive
The pads are too abrasive, if you dont watch you could scratch your tank. I sent them back for that reason. And for me the smaller one was useless. The handles are very sturdy.

One broke but they’re so cheap the other two are worth what I paid for three. The longest one is great for my big tank. Thumbs up in my opinion.
