How do I know I need a new battery?
The working time of full battery is less than 45 minutes.The battery will turn green after charging for about 30 minutes.But roomba cannot return to the base to charge properly.When the battery is repeatedly charged but cannot make the sweeper work normally.
(Note: If your Roomba uses a third-party charging dock, make sure the roomba does not run out of charge during use. The battery should have at least 10% remaining charge, otherwise excessive discharge of the battery can damage it and prevent it from charging.)
How to Install:
Turn the Roomba upside down and orient it so that the wheels are facing upwards and the dustbin is furthest from you.Make sure the dust bin is empty, then place Roomba upside down (with cleaning brushes showing ) on a flat surface. Put the battery into the battery compartment using your fingers.Finally the Battery will be clicked into place when properly seated
Note: If you don’t use the battery for long time, please recharge it every three months to prolong the battery lifetime.
Description of battery exceptions:
The battery can generally work for 2-3 hours on full charge. But it should be noted that the machine generally returns to the base after working for about 60 minutes from the base. It does not mean that the battery power has been exhausted.On the iRobot panel, err5 is displayed as a battery problem. Err7 is not entirely the battery problem.Other errors can be resolved from the table of the secondary chart.

My brother gave me his old Roomba because he didn’t use it. He said it filled up too quick with his big house and 2 dogs that shed like crazy 𤪠It had been sitting for a while so the battery died. Junk battery. Roomba won’t charge – Error 1, Battery cannot be found. Purchased another (much more expensive) battery directly from iRobot/Roomba that works just perfectly.This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for, save your time and effort – just spend the money and buy the one from the company the first time.

We have a Roomba 981 what we’ve had for about four years now. It’s been through the wars, running over dog poop (and being cleaned thoroughly), had the rollers replaced twice, the brush replaced a dozen times and been kicked, stepped on and tripped over more times than can be counted. Still it has kept trucking on, defending our house from the fur, hair and dander of 3 pets and 4 humans.Unfortunately, the battery has started to fail on it. It gets maybe 45 minutes of use on the battery before it suddenly quits in the middle of the room for lack of power. It hasn’t reliably returned home to its dock in over a year, necessitating picking it up and carrying it hope daily. Then it recharges and starts up again at wierd hourts of the day to finish the job. Annoying.I finally decided a new battery was in order so it could keep on trucking.This battery has turned out to be a perfect substitute. It’s a higher capacity battery, which is nice, and it slots into the battery compartment without issue. The roomba appears to be working better. It has more pep and it actually completes a cycle and returns home now, something it hasn’t done well for ages.I can’t speak to the longevity of this battery, but I can say that it works and works well enough that we can see the difference. I’m happy with our acquisition of it because it will hopefully keep our roomba working hard for another few years.
