The Worx Nitro WA0220 Driveshare 17” Universal Hedge Trimmer Attachment turns your Worx Nitro 40V String Trimmer into a powerful and versatile hedge trimmer. While the 10 ft. of maximum reach gained from this attachment lets the user reach up to the tops of tall bushes or the bottom branches of some trees. And at only 4.52 lbs. of added weight, it’s easy to hold this Hedge Trimming Attachment up high for some time. The cutting head is adjustable with 10 positions to choose from, so you can attack from almost any angle. It’s a great feature when approaching difficult to reach areas. This option works GREAT!
I just got done trashing the Worx pole saw, so I should balance that by saying this trimmer is a beast! I basically was walking through the woods swiping it back and forth and with only a bit of hesitation at bigger stems it slashed everything down. This one I recommend.

Better Quality than my OEM Attachment!
This is attachment is fantastic! I bought it to use with my Ryobi Expand-it attachment system. While I own the Ryobi hedge trimmer attachment that was made for that system, I got this because I needed a bit more length and I thought that the articulating head would also be useful. This WORX not only gives me more reach and flexibility than the Ryobi attachment, it also does a much better job of cutting, and it’s considerably less expensive. Well worth it!

    Works well on Husqvarna
This hedge trimmer attachment is very solid and well built. It attaches easily to my Husqvarna gas powerhead. The gearbox is metal, compared to the plastic gearbox of my broken Ryobi attachment that this is replacing. The cutting edges are sharp and cut very well. I like the extra reach and articulating head compared to my previous basic Ryobi attachment. The sturdy build and extra length are definitely heavier to handle, but I really like the ability to more easily trim tall hedges and the back sides of shrubs up against my house siding. My only complaint, and the reason I subtracted a star, is that my manual says to add grease to fittings at two specific points every 10 hours of use, but those holes are plugged with hex screws. When I contacted support, they didn’t know anything about adding grease and the new online manual doesn’t mention grease. I wondered if that change was to purposely shorten the life expectancy of this hedge trimmer. I removed the two black hex nuts with a 5mm allen wrench, replaced them with 6mm straight zerk fittings, and pumped the gear boxes full of grease. See the before and after pictures. Pressure built up and I didn’t see any grease ooze out anywhere, so maybe the gearboxes on this newer version are well sealed. Nevertheless, it is now setup to add grease as needed.

    Not a direct Echo alternative
For the Echo guys:Bought this as an alternative for my gas powered Echo PAS-225 pro. It says universal, but would not fit directly to my Echo. The outer diameter of the pipe that connects to the Echo is too thick. I had to sand down about 3 mm around, remove the pop-up type lock and drill a new lock hole to fit the Echo shaft. The cable connector fits the Echo perfectly.Once fitted, don’t forget to remove dust from the inner pipe and lubricate the shaft and the cable. Would take about two hours for refitting but would save you about 150 dollars.Once fitted, it worked pretty good.

    Fits Ryobi and works well
Well built. Does the trick with reaching tops of bushes from the ground. Head angle is easy to adjust. Would help to include a shoulder strap as the complete 40volt motor and trimmer head can get a bit heavy after a while. Would recommend.

I used this attachment with my gas powered Ryobi trimmer and it connected perfectly. I could angle it 90 degrees as well as the 10 adjustments. It does make the trimmer heavy and when doing large bushes i needed to take breaks because my arms felt like they were going to fall off. On the Worx’s website it mentions up to 1″ and is the reason i went with this one. It had no issues cutting any of my shrubs.
