Works ok but mud flap too thick
The edger itself works ok but the rubber flap to deflect any stones that are kicked up is too stiff. I use a 40 volt Ryobi power head and the thick rubber piece catches mud and clogs the edger enough to stop the blade. I have to manually move the blade before the Ryobi will start up. I tend to edge with a sawing motion and the thick rubber pie t would get caught in the grass in the backstroke. I ended up removing the rubber piece. Seems to work ok now if the ground isn’t too wet. Might not be a problem if you use a gas power head.

    As expected
This is the first none string trimmer I have used for edging and I am pleased with it. It connects to my Greenworks string trimmer head unit easily

not a good fit for ryobi one+ power head.
the ryobi edger attachment started slipping so i bought this guy as the comments say it can work with ryobi but I guess they’re referring to different model than I have. Ultimately not a good fit. The unit itself appears well made, was easy to put together (there’s guide arrows for the lock pin to the base and screw in) but the push pins that help secure it to the power head do not line up with the holes on the power head. There’s three on the power head and all three holes end up with a sideways power head if you actually intend to use them. If you choose to forgo that and just use the screw clamp from the power head then the angle of the attachment is so bad that you’re basically 45 degrees at the pole and practically perpendicular body position when using it. These “universal” things arent going to be a good fit for all models so prolly best to stick to your own brand attachments unless it’s not made anymore.

    I love this thing!
I have a 40 volt Kobalt trimmer that takes attachments. So I took a chance on this. Really glad I did. I hadn’t seen a review that said it would work, but based on the diversity of brands, I guessed it might. You will need to note that the bolts will come loose. A little maintenance is needed before each use. That’s a minor nitpick. For the price, you really can’t go wrong here.

works great but it’s a bit of a HOT item…
The VIYUKI Cutting Blade Lawn Edger Universal Attachment is a firestarter. It’s great at edging your lawn, but be prepared for a little pyrotechnics. I did nothing out of the ordinary, just edging my lawn, and suddenly, poof, flames! I’m not sure if it’s a new feature or a bug, but it certainly adds a touch of excitement to your yard work. Fortunately it didn’t last long and I can not figure out how or why it happened. Perhaps friction and dry leaves?
