    Powerful Water Pump
The suction capacity of this Aquarium Cleaner is huge. The unit is VERY effective when used within-the-tank water-recirculating Gravel Washing/Vacuuming mode. The evidence comes when you remove the white ‘sock’ filter, turn it inside out in preparation for washing it, and look at the IMMENSE amount of brownish gooky dirt it collected. I use this gravel cleaner in the following modes in this order: (1) 30% *Water Removal* during which I remove dirt from the gravel , (2) *Water-Recirculating/Gravel Vacuuming* mode with the white sock filter in place — for as long as necessary to thoroughly clean the gravel substrate, (3) 30% Dechlorinated *Water Replacement*.Make sure you have towels on the floor to catch any drips as you learn how to handle this unit when changing the connections during mode changes.

    Works well for me
Yes it could use much better instructions. You dont want the customer to have to find videos on how to assemble and use the variations options. Otherwise would be 5 star. Im mechanically inclined so assembly and usage wasnt anything difficult. I use it on white fine sand in freshwater 36gallon. Once found the eight video on how to do it cleaning sand was easy, pulls in very little sand if done right. So far has held up very good. Used 2-3 times weekly for partial water changes and crud clean up. Wasnt gonna pay more just for some “top brand” names. This works great for much less. Would buy again

    Aquarium vacuum cleaner
Sucks very well. Small white sock needs to be broken in to filter well. Would buy again.

Used once and motor smells burnt
Took me a while to use this due to some issues with setting up my new tank. 1 use it shut off after 10 seconds and will not come back on. Motor smells burnt. I am very disappointed.

I REALLY wanted to like this!
I really did. I really wanted this. Price was right. Concept is great. They almost have it right. Unboxing: Instructions – written in foreign English….Pictures are small and without many words, but you can figure out how to put it together. The instr. include Change water, Sand washing, Aspirate dirt mode, Rain mode (which would be a cool feature for a turtle tank!), Cleaning the motor, Rain shower head, Sand washing head. Note – nothing about the gravel cleaning attachment or the brush attachment. The brush attachment BTW is awesome for scrubbing/vacuuming off the big rocks. It’s easy enough to put together and figure it out, with or without the useless instructions. So, the gravel washer – it worked for a bit and happily sucked up the detritus from the gravel. The suction is strong enough. HOWEVER, the black sponge filter inside the clear plastic gravel cleaner (not seen in description pics) gets clogged and then sucks itself up toward the vacuum motor and all cleaning stops. There is no way to clean it out. I was able to use a chopstick to push the spongy filter and move it about while running it under the sink faucet, however this was time consuming and had to be done repeatedly. If that wasn’t a problem, this would not be a bad item. I can not review the other attachments, as I do not think they are for use on gravel, and I didn’t want to ruin the motor sucking up gravel. There were no problems with the electrical plugs and it seems they have gotten rid of the telescoping handle and replaced it with pieces that screw on so you can adjust the length of the handle….now if it weren’t for that pesky filter……

    This thing sucks
This thing sucks but in a good way. I did remove the sponge for the gravel cleaning attachment. It seemed to get clogged easy. After I removed it, it had more suction power. Food and waste still gets trapped with the bag attachment so no biggie. I love the long handle which makes it easier to reach to the bottom of my tall 125 gal. tank. Keep the motor part always under water prior to turning it on. It’s easy to put together and self explanatory. Only downside is to remember to let it drain all the way before you take apart the handle or water will leak out of the very top of you flip it. Def makes cleaning all 3 of my tanks a lot quicker! Just remember to keep an eye on the water if you use buckets to empty the tank. It sucks up water fast and it will be all over the floor before you know it. This is well worth the money! LOVE IT!

Wouldn’t vacuum much better than a regular siphon
The adjustment for the suction will back out. The unit is too bulky. You basically need three hands. Don’t waist your time. I will probably use it for water change only.

Set the whole unit up to clean my fish tank but unfortunately about half way through the process it just stopped working. I checked for blockages and searched for a reason (power supply still worked when tested etc) but I couldn’t get it to start back up. I wasn’t expecting the best unit for the price but I was hoping it would have at least made it through a single tank cleaning.

This is the third gravel cleaner I’ve ordered, and the first one thag actually works. It works great; easy to assemble, easy to use, quality parts, etc. The only reason it’s not five stars is because of the suction cups on the head. They keep sticking to the glass as I move it around. I get that they are useful in some situations, but it would have been nice if they were a separate piece like everything else.

Always looking for the holy grail of aquarium cleaners, always coming away disappointed. This is no exception. Setup and use is complicated and messy, and it doesn’t do much better than a manual siphon cleaner. Three stars for effort.
