The tool kit is kind of worthless. Used some feeler gauges to release the case backing. Easy to extract the old battery and then replaced the battery with the new one. Everything works great. Did a full charge on the new battery after testing the ipod functions.

Long lasting battery
For two months after new battery, I have used the iPod a lot! Almost every night. My sleep aid. ð Battery is strong/long lasting. Only recharge after several long nights of use. Tricky getting cover off iPod but battery fits perfectly.

Product fits and plugs in to gen 6 iPod as advertised. Was charged to about 80% to begin with. But will not charge. I pod indicates itâs charging but the battery is not going up.

Easy install, definite improvement!
I have an old 30GB ipod that was in need of a fresher battery and so when I saw this one offered, I thought I’d give it a try. I’m impressed!The tools that are included are super handy and exactly what’s needed to pry the face of the ipod off the back and the installation was easy. I’ve been inside this particular iPod updating other parts and so I was familiar with what I needed to do. If you haven’t been, there are plenty of vids on YouTube that give you the instruction you need. For me, it was a simple matter of unplugging and pulling the old battery out (it’s held firmly in place with a strong double-stick, so be careful when prying the battery off that you don’t ruin any of the other cables inside. Once the old battery is out, you plug the new one in and set it in place and that’s it.As for battery life, this is a significant improvement over the battery I was replacing, so it’s hard to do a comparison – the other one was on its last legs. I listened to this for about 3 hours last night and left it sitting overnight and it’s down less than a quarter of the battery juice….and this is not charged; it’s straight from the package into the iPod. So, I’d say it’s at least comparable to what the battery life would have been when this was a new device, if not a bit improved. I anticipate charging will not take longer than the previous battery.I’ll update if there are any material notes to make but this seems to be doing the trick and it’s nice to have my old iPod back!

Good replacement battery, but the tools are cheap
I replaced my old 5th gen iPod battery with this product. The most challenging part is to separate the case to access the battery. The tools that came with this package is all plastic and very weak. I broke it the first time trying to open the case. I ordered a better set of tool and did managed to open the case without any issue. The battery itself is well-made and worked well with my iPod, but I don’t know it would last as long as my OEM battery.

Easy install
This is great for modding a 5.5 classic iPod. It has pry tools to pop open the iPod, and sticky tape to stick the new battery onto the back cover. Since this is for a 80 GB iPod, the battery capacity is a nice upgrade. Overall, it’s an inexpensive and fantastic upgrade for an old iPod.
