It is a HEPA Filter and it fits
I do a lot of woodworking in a garage setting. Since this is a hobby on a budget I use a shop vacuum on my woodworking tools. This HEPA filter certainly helps. My set up is that the dust first goes through a cyclone to drop out the larger particles into a bucket. It then goes into the shop vac where I then use a bag filter to get the smaller particles and finally it goes through this HEPA filter. It seems to be a pretty good system for the money to help keep the air better. Here are my thoughts on DeWalt Shop Vac HEPA Filter:PROS:1) It is a perfect fit for my DeWalt Stealthsonic vacuum. Of course you would expect this!2) You can clean this filter with water to extend its useful life.3) The filter does not constrict air flow to much.CONS:I can’t think of any CONS.CONCLUSIONIf you are after that little extra in filtration, this filter is a good choice.RATING SYSTEM:I review a lot of products because I know reading other peoples reviews are very helpful in selecting the right product. I saw a reviewer that gave a rating scale and I thought, “that is useful”. When one is reviewing from underwear to air compressors having a way to tell you why I rate is important.Here is my rating scale: I5 Stars: Excellent product, I highly recommend this product for anyone.4 Stars: Good product, but there are some quality, functionality, or design issues, but will still work well.3 Stars: Okay product, it will work for some people but not all people. It works but not great.2 Stars: Is not very functional. It might work in a very specialized situation, but don’t count on it.1 Star: Trash. I can’t see any useful purpose for the product

OEM HEPA Filters Provide You With A Better Vacuum
If you own a DeWalt vacuum than you already know that their filter bags and HEPA filters are pricy. The HEPA filter however is one of those items where you get better performance than the copies. The OEM will be more efficient is trapping fine particles of dust (.3 microns), pet dander, and even lead paint chips. You can also trust DeWalt when they say .3 microns you know that is what you’re receiving. The OEM takes a large volume of air to pass through before its performance starts to deteriorate. The clones rarely spend the money for independent lab testing so when they say .3 microns you may actually receive .7 microns, who’s going to stop them from cheating? The clones get dirty faster, and their paper tends to be more fragile where metal shavings from a drill press could poke tiny holes in the filter making the HEPA useless. I also noticed that when you use compressed air to clean a DeWalt HEPA filter it holds together pretty good and can be reused. The clones tend to tear apart when cleaned with compressed air and they get soggy if you wash them with water.
