Make sure the old battery is dead
New battery is fine. Thought old battery was dead when after power loss I could get it to turn back on. Then same thing happened with new battery. Seems I just needed to due cold restart. Disconnect battery and unit should reset. Check APC site and manual.

Beware of batteries sold by Amazon on the APC Store
The box was delivered having been re-taped, not due to box damage, but from having been opened. I installed the battery in my UPS and was surprised that the UPS reported the same amount of runtime as the 3yr old battery I was replacing. Repeated testing by removing AC power and then letting it fully charge did not change the runtime reported by the UPS. A “brand new” battery that was supposed to provide over an hour of runtime when new was only good for FIVE minutes.Amazon told me to contact APC directly to address the problem rather than shipping me a new battery and returning the obviously used battery. I am in the process of hopefully getting a replacement from APC. Their advice to me is not to buy from a reseller if I want to avoid this type of issue.I thought I would be avoiding this type of fraud by purchasing from the APC Store on Amazon. Apparently, I was wrong.

This was an amazingly easy install. Slide the cover off disconnect two wires ( with quick disconnect or a). Lift out old batteries, install new batteries. Reconnect wires.Put the cove back on and you areDone.

It appeared that the part listed is for a slightly lower capacity UPS but seems identical to the factory battery. I guess four years is the limit for these even when never needed.
